We're heading out in a few days and wondering how the weather is down there. Is the pool warm enough to swim in it? We like the water warm not cool/warm. Are all resorts pool same temperature or some are just warmer than the others? My kids really want to try Poly, but I told them that there is no hot tub and I am afraid that if the temp goes down that at least we can still be in the water but a lot warmer than the pool.

We'll be there from Jan 2nd-7th. So far, both Accuweather and Weather.com have been pretty consistent forecasting sunny, high 70's for the daytime and mid to high 50's in the evening. I'm going to plan for both seasons and pack shorts, pants, short sleeves, sweaters, a jacket and mittens. That will probably mean 2 suitcases a person, but I've been down there when it went from 80 one day to just barely above freezing the next. We were not prepared and had to spend all our extra money on sweatshirts and gloves. Not fun.

Thank you for this thread, I'm really interested as well! We are just outside the 10 day forcast mark, but it looks like it will be a lot warmer than it was last year!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

cmcvean,

I notice you're staying at the Poly, do you think the pool there would be warm enough to swim during this season?

My son likes the monorail and the boat ride to MK. I am just afraid the pool might be too cold for them to swim in it and there is no hot tub. Thinking of changing my resort. I don't know.

Thanks Tammi for the info. I just hate to bring too many clothes. I think I'l just bring 2 pair of pants for each and each one brings a sweater or lite jacket to wear at nite. And the rest it will be summer clothes.

AAAAAAHHHH!!! Two more days!! YIKES!! Haven't done the laundry. I haven't packed anything.

Hi *Fantasia*,

Aren't you excited!!! It looks like you are going to have wonderful weather. You will definately be able to swim in the pool. It is heated, we swam last year and it was pretty cold outside. But the kids loved it anyway.

DEFINATELY DON'T CHANGE HOTELS!! You are going to love the Polynesian!!

Also, try the ferry boat over to Magic Kingdom from the TTC, it was a nice ride. We have kids in strollers, so we loved the fact that we didn't have to take them out to ride it.

Have fun!!! I guess we will be arriving as you are leaving! We are really excited, we LOVE the Polynesian.

We are leaving in a week and I just can't imagine wearing shorts. Even with the weather forcast in the 70s, do you really think we'll be hot in pants and t-shirts. I have been stressing over packing for the past couple of days. I just feel like the mornings and evenings are going to be too chilly for shorts even with sweatshirts. Plus DS2 doesn't fit in most of his summer shorts; should I try to hunt down a couple of pairs to bring down.

I have been burned so many times before. Packing either too much summer or too many winter clothes. I love going this time of year but I hate packing for it.

What do you guys think?

Well, I'm going to pack one or two pairs of shorts for myself. My husband will probably wear shorts, but that isn't saying much, he wears them ALL the time. I think that pants and short sleeves are fine. It is always chilly in the mornings and evenings, so I'm just going to layer. But I think you should bring one pair of shorts, just in case it does get up near 80!

HAVE FUN!!

We just got back and the days were in the high 60's low 70's, nights were as cold as 32-36 degrees. If I were you I would just pack khakis/jeans, short sleeves shirts, jackets/zipped sweatshirts and a pair of gloves(just in case). You'll probably need your jacket in the morning and evening and may need the gloves during the night. We saw maybe 1 or 2 people wearing shorts (out of thousands!!) We were really comfortable in jeans....I seriously doubt it will be warm enough where you might feel uncomfortable in khakis.

I think I may pack one pair of shorts but I probably will stick with T-shirts and pants. And then brings some sweatshirts or sweaters for the evening. And some hats and gloves in case it gets really chilly. Layering sounds like a good idea.

Thanks

Fantasia,

I am so glad to see you posting, I dont make it over to these boards much anymore, but was glad to see you are here. A friend of mine on the DIS and I were just speaking of you last week. We were wondering how you were doing and am glad to see you have a trip planned!!!

good to see you online!

Michael

Put it this way, we're in Massachusetts and today it hit a high of 58 degree's. I was comfortable in a light shirt and jeans, but noticed many people walking around in shorts. If it's in the 70's, I can guarantee that I will be wearing my shorts. I'm going with 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of jeans, a short sleeve shirt for each day, a sweater, a fleece pullover, sweatshirt and jacket. Oh and my bathing suit. I agree that it will probably be a bit chilly in the morning and then again when the sun goes down, but we'll probably just take advantage of the lockers in the park to leave a change of clothes.

For your DS2, he would probably be fine in pants and t-shirts. If it does end up getting warm, it will probably be much easier to find him an outfit down there, than trying to find shorts up north this time of year.

Thanks Michael. I'm doing better and the kids are doing fine. Thanks for thinking of me. One way to get back on the track is just to do what I love doing...doing the Disney.

I will do just that...pants and t-shirts...and sweatshirts or a lite jacket just in case. I will bring a couple of shorts though. I would hate to have 6 luggages all together and there's only me and the little kids.
