So how far is Davenport, really?

I just reserved a room at the Comfort Inn in Davenport. It is right off I-4 at Rte. 27. It had great reviews. They say they are "seven miles to WDW". I am thinking maybe 15 minutes to the property line.

Has anyone else stayed down there and can give any info on the area and travel times? There seem to be a few hotels right around that interchange.

Thanks!

I've stayed in Clermont at the intersection of 192 and 27. It was about a 15 minute drive on the 192 to get onto WDW property via Sherberth Rd.

Davenport is adjacent to Clermont and if you use the 4 to get to WDW, that would be much faster than 192, so 15 minutes to WDW sounds right.

I live in Davenport and know where that Comfort Inn is. 15 minutes is accurate. The first exit for Disney is 62 and you'll be at 55.

Take I-4 to Exit 62. That's the first Disney exit and it's 7 miles (the exit numbers are same as mile marker numbers). You are probably on WDW property at that point, but it's another 10 minutes or so to get to a park.

It's a fairly easy drive and much quicker than going 192. I used to work at the Target at exit 55 and we stayed at the Hampton Inn when we were scouting the area for a place to live.

Thanks everyone. I guess I am just asking if I am totally insane for staying there when I will be driving to WDW every day. Doesn't sound like it. Just wish they had a shuttle for the rare occasion that I wanted to go to Food & Wine and enjoy the cocktails. I guess there is a price we pay...to pay a lower price!

I stayed at the Crown Club Inn at the Summer Bay resort about 200 feet away from where that sinkhole swallowed up that building about 3 weeks before it happened. That hotel was good and was about a mile from US 27 on 192.I'm going to seriously reconsider staying that far away again, not because of sinkholes but because this was a summer trip and I don't know if it's that it was crowded or that rain caused people to leave the parks early or what but traffic was pretty nightmarish to get to and from the hotel, even using Sherberth rd which one time after a rain storm caused us to be about 20 minutes at the light just to turn west on 192.Then we also had Universal and Sea World days which meant a further drive,it would take like almost an hour to Universal. If the hotel is at US 27 and I-4 that would have been much better as even a slow I-4 would have gotten us there faster than how bad the traffic was on 192,when you're staying at the far west end of it.

Have stayed there a few times. Nice rooms n pleasant staff. The bfast in the morning can get a bit crazy but it definetly is a plus! Getting in n out can be a pain with a U turn on 27. No biggie tho. I agree it is bout 15 mins. Its right off exit 55. Our room this year was staring at the sign lol.
