So Hillary, How about those papers?

Why would anyone want to go back to the Clinton era? After all, that was the era of shrinking government, budget surpluses, surging stock market, comprehensive welfare reform, a successful military campaign in Bosnia, public identification of al Qaeda as a threat to the USA, and positive feelings toward the USA from the global community. Oh yeah, he engaged in a consensual affair with an intern.

That alone is apparently all that is needed to erase everything he did that was good for the country and also to sully the reputation of anyone even remotely related to him as well.

I would say something else but I don't want points!

I didn't care about the intern, that was btw him and Hillary. I DID care that he lied under oath about it and seemed to be no worse for the experience. I'd like to see a private citizen lie to a grand jury and not be wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Having said that, while his action was still wrong, it did not do the damage to the families of our lost and injured soldiers, to those innocent people in Iraq that got caught up in the civil war and our nation's reputation that the lies about Iraq did.

Well, I was grateful that the republican congress kept the government in check during the 90s. I always thought the stock market surged at that time because of the brilliant minds of people like Michael Dell, Bill Gates, etc., not Bill Clinton, and that market resulted in tax dollars flowing into federal hands.

True, Clinton identified al Qaeda as a threat to the USA. Too bad, he didn't act on it when he had the chance. Clinton had no problem snubbing the military and using them to engage in conflict to deflect attention from the Monica problem.

I'll agree that Clinton was not as effective as he should have been in destroying al Qaeda. But he did publicly identify the group as a threat and take some limited military action against them. That is a lot more than Bush did in the first nine months of his administration.

As for the Bosnia campaign, that military operation had the full participation and backing of NATO. I doubt that the European governments, even prickly France, would send their troops into combat just to ease Clinton's domestic political woes.

Wasn't that book Primary Colors, that was written by a Clinton aide at the time, pretty much said she was in charge of the "containment" of the female scandal issues. I heard that they would intimidate people like Juanita Broderick and several other women that I can't recall all the names at the moment. But supposedly that was a true book. I would guess if she didn't want some stuff to get out, it probably has a lot to do with these kind of issues.

Then there was the whole "billing records" issue that was a scandal way back when. I don't know why everyone thinks this women is so "for the little people" or whatever. She is about power for powers sake. She is more or less a power junkie. Not saying most of the rest of the politicians probably don't have the same or similar problems or issues, but I just don't understand why people think she is such a great person?:confused3 I could name only about 500 other women off the top of my head in politics that would make a much better candidate and a scandal free one at that than her.

Hillary is no saint and if she is in politics, she is just as dirty as every other politician. These politicians will say and do anything to get elected. I have learned to support policies rather than individual political leaders.

I think it would be very difficult in politics today to find someone that is scandal-free, because just about anything can be elevated to the level of "scandal" by the opposition.

Honestly, I don't think any politician is for the "little people" because in order to run for high office in this country you can't possibly be one of the "little people". Maybe your parents were middle class or poor, but a candidate today can't be middle class themselves and run.

My challenge to any of them has always been to live on my salary for 6 months. I think it would be an eye opener for many of them and if my salary would be difficult for them, perhaps they could stretch their imaginations to see how a poor person might struggle.

All politicians have dirty laundry, they sell there souls for their elected positions, they all owe somebody(s) something they have all lied ,they have all been hypocites and they are all out for one thing number one. They are ego driven power hungry control freaks.

I dont care if they are republican, democrate any other party, it is what it is. To argue about whos laundry has the bigger stain is really pointless they all have them its just a matter of who can keep the secrets under wraps the best.

Anybody that has fantasies of any of them giving a crud about any of us is very mistaken.

Yeah I agree, but I think Obama is fairly scandal free from what I've seen and seems to be a really good person, although I agree he seems to be pretty power hungry as well. But I think he's 10 times the person she is. And I've never heard about him "intimidating" women to shut them up from talking about their spouses affairs or whatever. I mean damage control is one thing, but actually sending goons out to intimidate women to keep their mouths shut is just very scary to me.:scared1:

so is breaking cover on an undercover agent to get her husband to shut up. I'm not fond of either situation. However, when I look at the reason for the intimidation, I can let go trying to keep a sexual tryst quiet easier than I can let go of the reason for outing Valerie Plame.

It's sad that we have to go through these kind of ethical gymnastics, but when EVERYONE has something to hide, people that they owe favors to or some other sort of unsavory history-the voters are forced to deal in relational ethics if they want to stay in the process at all.

Plame's book is getting excellent write ups. She was on Larry King last night. Should be a very interesting read.

"I can let go trying to keep a sexual tryst quiet easier than I can let go of the reason for outing Valerie Plame."

I don't understand how people cannot get this..though someone here will quickly point out, erroneously, that Plame was not covert. She was folks.

Well goodness knows if the President pronounces a word with his southern accent we see thread started about.

If it were just the southern accent I could let it pass. It has more to do with making up words or sentences that make no sense at all.

It has always been my opinion that our government works best when both parties work together. The problem lies in the fact that for the past 10 years or so (longer than that but that's when it really got out of hand) too many people just refuse to give any leeway on anything the other party presents.

Kind of how Bush likes to use the war to deflect attention from the economy problem?

Oh, but the economy is fine! Don't you remember? Inflation is only at 2.3%! Doesn't matter that your own bank statements show you that it's nowhere near that, the administration says it's 2.3% so that's what it is!!

Yes, I am a liberal as stated <------. I respect everyone's right to believe as they wish but the OP seems to have a driving need to post anything she hears/sees/reads that is derogatory to the Democrats or liberals.

Now I believe all kinds of negative things about the current adm. and a lot of others in D.C. but don't feel the need to post about it....I figure if you are wanting information to fuel the fire you certainly know where to get it.

Sometimes I enjoy items posted by the OP. I have learned to respect her on other levels but this is getting a bit much tonight. :confused3
I open every post the OP starts. I think she keeps people on their toes. Her knowledge is endless. I'm glad she puts the information out there. People need to open their eyes.

You obviously haven't heard Boston's Mayor Menino. Now there's a democrat who makes up words and sentences.

I like making up words and sentences, me and my friends have basically our own language. That is so terrifically fantastical.
