Isn't this great?

Castle

It was one of the display pieces at our LSS, which, sadly, is closing. I bought it today, with the grudging blessing of DH (and against the opinions of everyone else in the family)!

The owner threw in a great bunch of acrylic paper trays, which work with the slatwall construction and another huge bunch of pegs for hanging embellies. It will have to live (broken down) in the basement or attic for quite awhile until I manage to kick one or more kids out to get new or bigger scrapping space...:rotfl2:. It is 32" deep, 6.5' wide, and 7' tall - ("without the stupid little flag on top," as DH says!), and accessible on all four sides.

It is stupid - but I LOVE IT! :lovestruc

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i'm not even sure what to say I'm glad you like it and that's what counts but I think my opinion leans to that of the family.

WOW!! How cool is that thing! If I had seen it for sale I would have bought it too...then found a place for it to live at my house :rotfl:

HOW COOL! I LOVE IT! Wouldn't fit in my house but OH, it would have been hard to turn down!

Holy cow, I can't believe you bought it!! Glad to know that it went to a good home, at least.

Well, since ZTH will be spending several months in the company of Cinderella's castle, she'd probably be missing it once she returns to Boston. What better to greet her than a castle in her very own room? ;) (I know, I know - I shouldn't be encouraging her.)

I KNEW you and Ryan would recognize it! It's been killing me, 'cause I really wanted it since the first day of the sale, but had to ummm..."convince" others. (Well, one other, actually...) I'm on such a tight leash now for show floor shopping at CKC...it ain't funny!

I think it is pretty awesome. If my basement was finished, I would have bought it too. :thumbsup2

Good for you on getting that!!!! It's so cool! I would have wanted it too and my guys wouldn't have minded as long as I put it in my scrap room and not where they'd have to see it all the time!

Since it knocks down, I wonder if you could reconfigure it from an I shape to a C shape. You'd lose the back wall but then it would be more like one of those "scrapbox" configurations . . . or use the I shape as a room divider . . . the possibilities are endless.

All that matters is that you love it! My LSS had one of those - they've moved somewhere inconvenient to me so I don't know if they still have it. It's cool.

That's awesome Pam!! I'm glad it went to a good home. I was kind of sad thinking it might end up in a dumpster or something. :goodvibes

It would easily just go against a wall and I'd just lose that side - in fact, that's how the LSS has had it - she only uses three sides.

I'm hoping that it will eventually work smack in the center of one of our rooms (currently a kid bedroom...:rolleyes1 - but it already has a castle theme - see, perfect! - with "stone block" wallpaper, granite-look mouldings, and a marvelous sky mural an artist painted on the ceiling) and the scrapdesks, shelves, etc. would go around the perimeter... We'll see!

DH was monitoring the posts on this thread - he's happy he has you on his side, Christy (you traitor!!!:lmao:) - but cheerfully recognizes that he's outnumbered!

My Mom was always coming home with different display things from various going out of business sales. Some better than others. This is a very cute piece. And it could be very useful! I'd want to bring it home here, but the rooms aren't really big enough. The only way, I think I could use it would be to put a short wall against a room wall. Leaving the two big sides accessible and having it stick out into the middle of the room.
