So frustrated with booking flights!

I'm headed down with a group for the first week of March (3-10). We can leave from either Richmond, VA or Norfolk, VA. I'm so frustrated because most of the flight times are seemingly awkward, but the prices for direct flights with the best times have skyrocketed over the past few days. We're now looking at around 400 roundtrip out of either airport. What seems even crazier is that all of the weekends straddling ours seem to have great rates. Now we have to decide whether to jump on these high rates or try and ride it out. I'm guessing it's smarter to jump now, but it seems painful.

Frustrated is an understatement.

I believe those dates are the beginning of the spring break period. I know my daughter's college in on break during then. Chances are that is why airfare is higher for you.

What about taking the autotrain?

I see a flight with Delta with 1 stop in Atlanta for those dates out of Richmond for $200 inc taxes.

I'm in the same boat as you. We are flying from Pittsburgh the same days and I have never paid this much for air fare before. It seems like the flights have gone down a little the last two weeks, but they are starting to go back up. The flight times are terrible. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and book. I'm afraid to wait any longer.

Now that we are into the new year (and past the holidays) airfare is going to go up due to demand as people focus on their upcoming trips. Same for rental cars. We re-booked our MCO rental car a couple weeks ago as it hit an all time low near Christmas, now the rates are up again.
