ok here goes... I'm 37 other half 44 kids 9 and 20 none of us have EVER been to disney.... I think we are on track so far reservations for FW in our M/H for 10-1thru 10-10 (we requested loop 1400 that was from reading stuff here) I have bought books and surfed the web relentlessly... I am sooooo excited I don't know if I can wait until october.... any thing else I should have done at this point in the game?? We drag race so we are used to camping alot I think we have that part down pat.But anything to do with the whole Disney experience is another story... any help or suggestions are VERY WECOME :D

First trip!! I'm so excited for you! You will have a wonderful time!

The most important thing I try to get across to first-timers is not to try & do everything on this one trip! It's easy to get carried away at the parks, running around like crazy, trying to fit everything in. But you will burn out really fast if you do that.

Take some times - preferably in the afternoons away from parks. Go back to your campsite or the pool and relax for a couple of hours. Then, head back to the parks in the evenings for the shows/fireworks.

You will enjoy yourself much more - and don't worry! If you miss something - that's an excuse to back again someday! ;)

Although there is a wealth of info on here, sometimes you just like to read a book ;) If you do, get the "Unofficial Guide to WDW". It's really great!

We'll be down there a few days after you leave in Oct. Are you aware that the fireworks and parades aren't every night in Oct? You'll want to plan around that as well. Things aren't opened as late either.

How do I figure out the best way to get from FW to the other Disney attractions and back??? I already have the book you were talking about.. Also we will be there for 10 days but only plan on 5-6 for the parks 1-2 for resting still open for suggestions for the other remaining days!!! :)

Transportation, well, we drove everywhere, BUT we've been there many times and know our way around. I haven't tried the buses from FW only from AS resorts which was excellent. SOme on here like the buses from FW others don't.

It's a great idea to have a couple days just for the campground. WE didn't have time to enjoy it. You'll find a lot to do. We did the horseback riding one morning

How do I find out schedules for october?? Do we have to wait until we get there?? I think all I know for sure is that RC is closed by then.. Aren't I a fountain of info... ha ha <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face">

loreyb, Make sure to call and make PSs for Hoop-De-Doo. Youngest DS and I just got back and that was so much fun! You will have a blast!!! TC

Thanks for the tip, now how do I decide what day and what time? Does anyone know if any one day or time is better??

you can sometimes get a discount on the last show, i think disneyclub, the earlier you make your ressies the better seat you will get, we made our early and were last in line at show time, they escorted us to our table which was in the very front row next to the piano.

Its a great show my then 2yo niece loved it

Transportation is a cinch, at the marina take the launch to MK, from there Monorail to Epcot. Or, take the bus to TC and another bus to MGM or AK.

Don't forget to make ressies for either, Hopp Dee Do Review, the Lau at the Poly, or the Back Yard BBQ at FW.

Illuuminations Fireworks at EPCOT is a must, as well as Fantasmic at MGM.

The waterparks, Typhonn Lagoon, and Blizzard Beach should be planned too.

The one thing you have in your favor is 10 days, that is a lot !

My best advice is plan on using Early Entery in planning your park activity. Go to that park upon its opening, and stay there until the lines get long, (around 12:00 to 12:30PM), leave and go back to your site to relax and take a swim. Then return to the parks at night for the parades and fireworks.
