Hi Everyone. This is our first post on this board. We are both excited because we have our Escape Wedding set for 10/24/09!!!!! We are both excited and want to share this news with the rest of the world!!!!!!

Congrats - October is a beautiful time of year for a wedding if I do say so myself! :cool1:

Congratulations! We were married in October as well - so fabulous :)

Thank you everyone for being so nice and welcoming!

I guess you can say that we are still in the planning process in some ways but I believe we know what we want. We have decided to have our Escape Wedding at 1000 am with our 18 guests at the Wedding Pavilion. Right now we are planning to have a nice lunch at one of the restaurants on property and then a reception when we return back to TX for our family and friends. We could certainly use some suggestions regarding where to hold our lunch, I was thinking possibly California Grill. Does anyone have any advise on a Dessert Party? I am also wondering if we can invite more people to the dessert party than at the wedding itself. We have a few friends that live in FL but due to the limited number of people we can invite to the wedding, they can not attend. Also, does anyone know if our FL friends attend a Dessert Party will we still have to pay the viewing fee as they already have season passes to the park.

We appreciate any info and suggestions you all can provide to us. We are so excited to be taking this large step in our lives and I am sure we will have many more questions to come!

10/24? I am on 10/23 at 12 noon, and that is a friday - I didn't know they had Escape weddings on saturdays??

They just recently started doing Escape Weddings on Saturdays. When we started looking for info on the internet back in February it said Escape Weddings were only Monday-Thursday. We got engaged on Valentines Day and called them a few days later and they said that they just started doing Escape's on Saturdays at 10 and 12. We wanted to have the 1200 slot but it was already taken.

It is funny to think that you will be getting married one day before us. We are going to arrive on the 21st and stay at The Coranado Springs and then move over to The Grand Floridian for our honeymoon. We are also playing with the idea of taking a cruise after our stay at the resort.

I am also wondering if we can invite more people to the dessert party than at the wedding itself. Yes, you can invite more people to the dessert party. Your FL friends won't have to pay a viewing fee if they have season passes. Just make sure to tell your Coordinator that in advance and how many people have season passes. You can also invite more people to your lunch/dinner as well. :) A word of caution, make sure your Coordinator knows how many people and doesn't assume so you have the advantage in choosing a premium spot for your Dessert Party and don't get stuck in a location you may not like.

Congrats!!!!

My DF and I are getting married one week before you do! We'll be at WDW for our Disneymoon when you get married! :)
