I am going away in three days, (well leaving 3 am Thursday morning), and I have not started packing yet. The thing is it is worse that that, I have yet to go and buy a new case. At the moment I have visions of going with no luggage at all and buying clothes when I get there.

That brings me to the washing, well, it is washed, but not yet ironed. I have ad so much work to do I haven't had chance, on top of that I have to get a tyre on the car changed (had puncture and it is stil the emergency tyre on there), sort out the car insruance with is due before I get back, as well as work tomorrow I only thought to book 1 day off before going!!!!!

I think I deserve a pratt of the year award, I think I am a lesosn on how not to do this!!!!

However, the important things, such as ADR's tickets etc were all booked age ago!

Wow sounds like you need a holiday!!! Im sure you will get it all done in time and just think in 3 days you will be in Disneyworld! :cheer2:

Sounds like your going to have a busy couple of days but the pure fact that your going to Disney in 3 days will push you through :cool1:

Thats not a bad thing :)

I'm just as disorganised. Still have to get the Flexticket, hotel for 2nd week, car hire and travel insurance yet !!!!! We go in 10 days

D

I am with you on this one. We go on Friday but are travelling down to Gatwick on Thursday night. I am still washing, have ironing to do and have not packed a thing which I did say I would do today. I have the house to clean, and tomorrow we are back at work. :confused3 Not only that I am having the jitters about going, leaving the dog and I told Dh tonight that I would be quite happy to have 2 weeks at home watching dvd's and chilling out. I think I am in the middle of a crisis... :guilty:

At least I am not alone!!!! We'll both do it, hopefull we will be able to sleep on the plane.

Don't panic - from a self confessed late packer myself (I've often been still packing to the minute we walk out the door !) - you only really need to make sure you have your travel docuements and passports (and a change of underwear).

I always go by the golden law of packing ...'the longer you have - the longer it will take' !!! thus I don't normally even get the suitcases down till the morning before departure and nothing really bad has ever happened !

Check out Morrisons if you are looking for a new case - whole set of the new wheely type for less than £30.

Anyway what are you doing reading this Terri ? ..YOU SHOULD BE PACKING !!
:rotfl2:

Thanks for the Morrions tip, I'll look there in the morning. I don't mind packing late, it is just that there is sooo much else to do as well :( I went to Tesco's as I had seen some cases there (having had several damamged by gatwick or Sanford I really don't want an expensive one), but they had all sold out.

I think packing will be wednesday, and other bits tomorrow around working.

you'll be just fine,

asda has some cheep cases (wish i had looked before i spent £105 on two cases at debenhams)

I have only booked one day off before we go to florida (and we are staying at the airport that night as well). I dont pack till the day before, and I will be in the same state as you but it adds to my excitement, my main thing is my dbf doesnt have the day before off so he wont be gettin in my way when I am packing.

Have a great holiday and dont stress what doesnt get done doesnt get done

If you are that pushed for time leave the ironing. The clothes will crease in the suitcase anyhow. You can iron your cloyhes as you need them .

Ahem :rolleyes1 I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from their DISing, but maybe you should

get off the computer!!
and start getting ready! :rotfl:

Have a wonderful time :sunny:

The soft bodied cases are best because they are light and with the luggage allowances the lighter the better.

We took two hard bodied cases last year, one of which was heavy before it got anything in and one soft holdall which was extremely light but it still was a big case.

It would be handy to have a hard bodied case to offer protection to anything you buy that could be delicate but then use soft bodied holdalls for clothes.

Morrisons are also doing a large soft holdall for £14.99 which we fancied getting for next year because we are not too sure whether two hard bodied cases will fit into an I4 boot.

Anyway, go and get packing and have a fantastic time.

You might also want to try Debenhams on Wednesday morning if you have a card with them as its card holders week which means uber discounts for you (plus if you are the first 300 customers for a store you get free stuff).

Or if you are not a card holder, there is still 20% off some luggage until Tuesday night.

As for ironing them, forget that. Buy a travel iron/steamer and do it there. Or better yet, hang the clothes in the bathroom for the next few days and take lots of hot showers. Then when you get to the hotel, do the same thing there.

my cases were half price in debenhams, at 52 each instead of 105 each which i though was great and theyre electric blue and can be etended, cool for all my shopping

I've got 10 days to go my suitcase is semi packed still some washing to do. Have'nt brought any attraction tickets, still trying to get spending money organised.

I got made reduntant 2 wks ago, I had an interview this morning for an office job, they rang this afternoon to offer me the job. Starting work on Thursday with training for 5 days then I'm off to Florida. Not sure why they want to train me so soon, as i won't remember any-thing about the training after two weeks in Florida.

Have to admitted I feel so good knowing I've got a job to go to when I get back off my holidays. :cloud9: :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc :rotfl:

Congratulations thats fantastic news!!! That must be a weight off your mind and now you can go on holiday without any worry, you must be so glad you didnt cancel it!!

Well done!

Yeah I'm so glad i did'nt cancel my trip. But I was very lucky I had some excellent advice from a lot of people on the dis boards. I'm a born Libran so i spent a lot of time weighting things up and down. That's why I tend to ask other people's ideas on things - that way I take a lot of pressure off myself and go with what the majority are thinking.

Well, today I got a lot fo the stiuff done, got suitcases and a few new clothes, picked up travellers chques, then relaised hadn't go enough cash out so went to antoher branch to get some cash out to pay all the bills for when I am away.

Apparently when you collect traveller cheques from one branch then take out cash from another it can set off all sorts of securty alerts!!!! Got a call from the bank this evening wanting to make sure that al the transacions were mine. At least it means they do watch the accounts for suspicious activity.
