So Disappointed

I got up early, had the mouse in my hot little hand at exactly 6:00. Still only got one restaurant/time I wanted out of four. Here's what I tried/got:

9/27: LTT at 6:25 pm (wanted 1900 Park Fare at 5ish)
9:28: Akershus at 1:40 pm (wanted 11:40 am)
9/30: 1900 Park Fare at 7 pm (wanted Ohana at 5ish)
10/1: Chef Mickey's at 11:30 (wanted this)

I knew Ohana was a long shot, but I'm pretty shocked that that Park Fare ressie was the only one I could find for the entire time we're there, and that I couldn't book an early dinner on any day at all. I was apprehensive about the 90-day window, and it looks like it was with good reason!

I know it's a little unreasonable, but I'm feeling pretty sulky and annoyed right now. I'm dreading keeping two kids (3 and 7 months) up for a 7pm dinner. All I can say is they'd better darn well seat us promptly!

keep trying...adn try back on the exact 90 day mark of that ADR you want. it worked for me this moring for crystal palace. i also dont think it's the 90 mark problem..it's the free dining promotions. :(

I agree -- it's the free dining. Whether it's 90 days or 180 days, what you get depends on how many people are trying to get ADR's. Many people wouldn't get the dining plan, or even be making ADR's, if it weren't for free dining.

I feel your pain!!! I wanted Storybook breakfast on 9/28 but I got it on 10/1. Our Ohana is at 8:50, yeek! But I guess anytime in Disney is better than not being in Disney at all.

also, from one who's btdt (free dining) every year it's been offered... try once you are ON SITE! things change, people cancel, etc... call at night... call in the morning... it cannot hurt...

You can always try walking up to a restaurant..get their a few minutes before they open!! We did this numerous times during free dining last year..family of 5..and were seated right away. Restaurants we were seated immediately at by showing up just before opening, even though there were no ADRS avail: Coral Reef, 1900 Park Fare, Narcooses...believe it or not!!!!

It never hurts to at least ask. We got into the 1900 Park Fare breakfast AND cinderella supper with no ADRS!

They all make some provisions for walk ups. Also, if you have no luck ahead of time, try calling that morning.

One thing I learned on last years trip: While it is imperative to have a "plan" for your guide, it should not rule your vacation and ADRs are not the be all and end all either. I put way too much stress and energy into them ahead of time.

Just my opinion...

I also wanted Ohana for 5:00ish on 09/29. DH and I wanted to eat here before going to MNSCHP. We took a Kona Cafe for 5:05, but I keep trying everyday for Ohana. I keep hoping someone will cancel.

We are checking in on 9/25 so my 90 day mark was Saturday. I was on the computer at 6:01 am and got everything I wanted (party of two) for our times of between 6:00-7:00 pm -

9/25 LeCellier
9/26 Boma
9/27 San Angel Inn
9/28 Biergarten
9/29 Mama Melrose
9/30 'Ohana
10/1 Teppan Edo
10/2 Marrakesh

Surprised about getting LeCellier for the first day, but figured that it was because of the release of additional reservations on the exact 90 day mark.

Yeah! Now I just need to get my DH to commit to his golf dates so I can get those booked.

I was really apprehensive after all the horror stories I've read here lately, but making my ADR's was suprisingly easy, and I forgot to call until almost noon on my 90-day mark. I got everything I wanted on the day I wanted it and within an hour of the time I wanted it.

9/25 Tusker House
9/26 Liberty Tree Tavern
9/27 Biergarten
9/28 Mama Melrose
9/29 Planet Hollywood
9/30 Teppan Edo
10/1 O'Hana
10/2 9 Dragons
10/3 Le Cellier

I would get to the restaurant at least 30 minutes early to insure you are seated at least by your seating time. :)

Yes, the e-mail I got confirming my dining reservations also mentioned checking in at least 20 minutes prior to scheduled time.

I very much liked getting that e-mail with all my reservations!!!!

I wouldn't count on this. We've shown up approx. 30 minutes early on a couple occasions during free dining (because we had another commitment after and wanted to make sure we were seated at our ADR time or we were in the area a little earlier than anticipated) only to be told they couldn't check us in and to come back in 15 minutes, closer to actual ADR time. I understood so it was no biggie to us ... It happened at Akershus and Chef Mickey's.

Free dining makes things crazy. Plus, it depends on the CM checking you in, of course.

Us too! wanted 1900 pk for that day got kona instead, same time maybe we'll see you there! I was very surprised at how hard it was to get an adr at 1900 that whole week and also can't get tutto italia for the nights I wanted but I got Le cellier???? go figure.

Keep trying . Go to the online dinning when ever you get a chance you never know what could open up for you. Good Luck :thumbsup2
