I just need to post to say that my experience with DU has been wonderful and has only been improving as we near our June trip to WDW. We have been working with Carole and she has been wonderful! I have contacted her with questions and heard back extremely quickly with an answer (usually within 12-18 hours!!!). And she has taken care of every PS/AR request (and we are unfortunately throwing them at her one-by-one ... which makes it a bit more work for her, but she has taken care of everything for us :). Just keeping my fingers crossed that the trip itself goes as smoothly as the planning and preparation has gone.

Good luck to those of you who have not been satisfied with the service; I hope your trip is pleasant!

12 to 18 hours is considered extremely quickly????

Actually the boards are not owned by Dreams Unlimited, and they do not have a vested interest in them. Dreams Unlimited is a sponsor of the cruise line board, just like any other paid advertiser.

Dreams Unlimited and the DIS are two separate companies. Yes, the owner of the DIS is a partial owner of Dreams Unlimited, but the companies are not one in the same.Sue Ellen

I understand that these are 2 seperate companies, however given the fact that the owner of the DIS is partial owner of DU, places DU in a totally different catagory than a regular paid advertiser such as Swan and Dolphin. This is where the vested interest comes into play......and yes, the other owners of DU would have a vested interest in these boards.

For example, if I make a reservation through DU and have a problem with the employee at the check in counter of Swan and Dolphin, and come to this board to vent, the owners of DU has no vested interest in my experience. What happens there (on a personal level) they have no control over. We are free to vent here on the DIS about the experience and it does not hurt DU in any way. Now, if I use DU and am unhappy with my experience with one of their employees, come here to vent about it, then most definitely, DU DOES have a vested interest in these boards because it is a widely used form of communications that contain both positive and negative reviews. Given the fact that the owner of DIS is partial owner of DU, I would think he and the other owner(s) of DU are on a first name basis and have more interest in what is going on these boards than say Swan and Dolphin, whos bad reviews won't have such a crippling blow to their business.

..and on the opposite side of the coin, how many positive referrals does DU get from these boards? Hundreds if not thousands - which I am sure helps their business greatly in comparison to the other Disney specialist travel agencies, who don't have the association with such a large Disney fan community.

I am still wondering if the Disboards would allow another Disney-specialist agency to pay to sponsor one of the forums - does anyone know? or anyone know who to contact?

Thanks!

-Joe

All you have to do is go through www.dreamcometruevacations.com and all your problems are solved (not to mention your disney vacation will be perfect!!!)

I've used them and they will bend over backwards to do all they can to make your trip as magical as it can be!

I highly doubt that would happen. Goes back to vested interest. It would be a poor business decision for the owner of the DIS to advertise a travel company where he is not gaining profit other than advertisement fees. Would look bad in the eyes of his business partners with DU....taking money out of their pocket by adding competition. This board is a strong selling point for such a business venture. (not at all implying how DU got started).

I used to book on my own, then found these boards and Sue Ellen from DU. She did a big trip for us last year and it was perfect. This year she is again handling our trip. I recommend her to everyone I know who mentions they are interested going to WDW and those who have used her have been very, very happy. When our 90 day mark approaches at the end of the month, I know she will be on top of it so I will not be the one calling every morning at 7:00 a.m. for 11 days. She is reliable, professional and a wonderful person.

Seems to me like the first DU complaint was posted here on May 13, and lo and behold - this thread is still open for you to make that comment.

Furthermore - there's quite a few posts by somebody from DU who has come, not to silence, but to help those who had problems.

Agree.

I contacted them last year about a WDW trip in January. I never got a reply and just did it myself instead of waiting for another agent to get back to me. We had a great time.....spent a lot with concierge level and such. I think it would have been a nice commission......
