So disappointed with Dream Unlimited!

thelittlemermaid, if you are going to book the dining plan for part of your stay, just plan on having your CRT breakfast during that time. When you, or your TA calls to book it you can give them your confirmation # and with the dining plan they require a credit card to guarantee it but they don't charge your card right then. They only charge it if you are a no-show.

I agree that if they do PS arrangement that CRT should be part of it but I do understand why some agents won't do it. Some east coast agents could be bringing their kids to school at 7 am and unable to call. We've had our agent at Magical Memories Travel make our CRT ressies each time we've gone and she's gotten them every time. Even the group of 16 people, she got the ressie for us on our first choice date.

I can tell you that that is true, you can only request a water view, but it isn't guaranteed at the Boardwalk Inn. If you had chosen the Beach Club, you can pay extra for the view- but at the Boardwalk (for whatever reason :confused3 ) you can only request it. When you check in and if they have the water view available they will honor your request no doubt. You or your TA can call a few days ahead and be sure your request is there as well as 24 hours before- that might also help you secure the room. But again, they won't guarantee it.

My understanding is that the water view is an extra charge. When I go to the Disney site and pick water view it increases the cost. So if I reserve the more expensive view it doesn't mean I will get it? :confused3

Hey all,
I'm currently planning a trip through DU. It's not until September, but my travel agents have been great. I'm working with Catherine...as well as Barbara (for awhile until Catherine is back). I always get prompt answers to my questions that I e-mail. Hopefully, the service will still be great throughout the planning period!!!! :) I would definately do it again through DU!!!

on the BWI water view, I think you can pay extra for and reserve a water view standard room but for concierge it is something you can request but it's not guaranteed.

Grammy, do you have a web site address for them? Or Phone #) Is it just Magical Memories.com? Thanks!

I used DU for my first trip, Leaving this Friday, I thought they were wonderful. My TA answered all my annoying questions , changed my package(not once but twice), and got every PS I requested including Cindy's on my first morning there. THANKS AGAIN SUE ELLEN :goodvibes

why does anyone even use a travel agent to book anything disney when disney has their own makeshift travel service either via their web or call in...
arent u paying more by using an agent??? are u nuts or something??

I think with a name like disney people cant be that uninformed of booking direct..can they

No you do not pay more by using a travel agency and some can be worth a lot just for their help and knowledge. As in any other business thare are some good and some bad and some excellent employees.

I'm not staying concierge so I am all set. Thanks. :cool1:

I have Marla for a agent through DU. Although I don't hear from her unless I ask something. She is great at responding.

Also when my sister decided to come with us. I had already booked and began paying it off. I had my sister go through dreams. I emailed Marla gave her my sister's name and she did the quote for her too. I figured it would be much easier for one TA to do both our trips. Since we will want some of the same PS.

So far I am happy with Dreams. If the service continues then I will also book my 2007 cruise with them too.

I am watching my mark for 90 days. I will have a list prepared for Marla to book my PS when the time comes. I plan on doing LOTS of character meals.

I've been extremely disappointed in Small World Travel. I had used Dreams Unlimited twice before and don't know why I changed!! DU worked with me and helped with everything when I requested. Small World won't even reply to e-mails without sending two or three times. It got to the point where it was more trouble than it was worth. Days would go by without any response, and we all know that days could be the difference between getting a PS you want and not. It probably all depends on the agent and because of mine, I would never use Small World again. I would however go back to DU.

I just love DU. I have been using them since 2000. Every experience has been nothing short of fabulous and I am not the easiest person to deal with. I change many things along the way and drive my agents nuts.

Cathy Miller is my agent right now for our two WDW trips and Kelsie is handling my cruise for next August. Cathy and Kelsie both go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. :cheer2:

When discounts become available they are the first ones to alert me. I always send them a list of the PS's I would like when I initally make my reservation and then they go ahead and take care of it when the time comes.

I think it is a matter of choice to use an agent or not. I prefer the ease of DU because they take care of everything I don't have to worry.

If anyone is having a problem use the contact information on the DU website and I guarantee you it will be handled.

I am sorry to hear you had a bad time with them. I have used them as have my friends and all have been extremely happy

Just like some of the posts here about DU, some agents are good and some just seem to go through the motions.

Oh Goodness! I wasn't all that thrilled with DU but only because I couldn't speak to a person. Using a ta is supposed to add value to your vacation. I like having a ta who I can call, email or go see if I want to! I wouldn't NOT use DU or another agency because you've had a disapointing experience with one agent. She might be new and just figuring it all out.

Always seems to be a big debate on using a TA or not. I with all I know feel I know more than most TA's so I would never use them for Disney. However, I have friends that use them and are pleased. I just think with all the information on these boards and other boards like them what is the need for using a TA for WDW. But to each his or her own.

I used Dreams Unlimited for our Feb 2005 cruise. DU was very helpful. There had been a glitch in our last payment (no one knew) and Sue Ellen was very helpful in straightening that out and also booking the REAS package and getting all our requests for the cruise. I wanted to help support the boards, and so used them to book an arrival Saturday night off site before we move into BWV on a Sunday in July. I will probably use them again for a cruise, once the 2007 dates come out.

I have been using Lisa with magical vacations. I absolutely LOVE using a travel agent. I was one who always had to plan everything myself. But with being @ work & not being able to make th 7am calls for PS's--I needed a TA. We have used her for our Feb trip, our August trip (*in fact we changed from our timeshare & are now staying @ WL), and our December Trip (*which is now a Grand Gathering).

I cannot say more positive things about Lisa. Wonderful service. Quick replies to emails, reminders when it's 90 days out for PS's.

I have to say i'm very pleased with Sue Ellen from DU, she gave me several quotes for our October trip (I even felt kind of embarrased to ask so much), we are doing a 2 day stay at Boardwalk followed by a 4 night cruise and she has responded to my emails whitin 24 hrs., we had booked a different trip in the beginig and then decided to change dates and also changed cruise from 3 nts to 4 nts (after we had made the deposit) and she took care of everything!!!

I usually try to make any room reservation through Disney first, but its not always easy. Just yesterday I called and wanted to make a room only reservation at Pop Century using a recently announce active duty USA military discount. This is a discount announced by Disney. I was told only Shades of Green will book military discounts. I literally had to plead with her to check this as I know for a fact that is not correct. Well .... she found it eventually.
I'm sure a TA like Dreams Unlimited would have saved me the near aggravation had I used them.
