SO CHILLY HERE wdw now! right now!

It feels like 37 and overnight the feels like will drop to 22 where I'm at; that to me is chilly to me..

And it is NASTY in Orlando when it hits those temperatures (though 22 is lower than it was...28 was our morning at IOA in December 2010 when we rode the Hippogriff coaster 14 times in a row). Glad it's not there!

Our trip is in two weeks and it still hasn't fully registered in my brain that there is a possibility that we may need to wear jackets and pants at Disney cause our past trips were in May and August . I've been reading that the mornings can be chilly but it warms up to the 70's and lower 80's in the afternoon. We'll pack jackets and hoodies for sure, but coming from PA it will take some convincing to get my kids to not wear shorts all day, every day at Disney. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least a couple days where it's warm enough to hit the pool. DH is just happy that he won't lose a belt size from sweating like we did on our August trip.

:)

2015 Princess 5K it was in the low 30s for the start. It had been almost that low the month before for the 5K over marathon weekend, and thee race people refused to give out the mylar blankets, and had no heaters. I was volunteering and was in layers plus the windebreaker they gave us, but DH and DS were huddled in their corral with thousgands of their new closest friends. When it was lower than that for Princess the next month, they brought out the mylars and the space heaters for the corral.

I'm hoping it's not THAT cold for my trip for Princess this year, but I'm packing for anything!

We had some cool mornings for a few days at WDW a couple weeks ago (40's). I just rented a locker to store our jackets when it warmed up later in the day and we didn't need them anymore.

I always find it funny to see how people react differently to the same temperature. Last time we were in Orlando we were heading out of the hotel in the morning. In the elevator we met another family. They were all bundled up in coats and jeans and were shivering. We were in shorts and t-shirts and very comfortable. We all laughed and chatted about the weather. They were from Miami and we are from Canada so the same temp felt very different to the two families. 72-75 would be shorts and t-shirts for us.
We are from Canada too and 72 to us is too cool to wear tank tops or swim. I'd be ok touring the park but no water rides or swimming.
Canada is not all freezing all the time, in SW Ontario our summers are often as hot and humid as FL (but less rainy ;) and even now it's mild, supposed to be about 53 this weekend. Has been in the 40's a lot. Then we get some snow and temps dip and it repeats all over again. But even if I was to leave Canada during the coldest winter, arriving in FL when it's 72 would not feel hot to me. Warm yes. Hot, nope.
To me Florida is a mixed bag weather-wise from Nov to March. You are right though, everyone will react differently.

I find low 70s to be chilly when it's not the 5000% humidity. I think OP described it well. It's just not the same when in 85 and baking all day to get that low 70s and chilly breeze with light humidity.. I tend to want pants and a light jacket.

It's all relative, I was just in nyc with 30s and 40s and didn't find it horrible, came home to be chilly with hotter temps.

Can it get cold here? Yes, January is our coldest month. Does it get cold often? No, not real cold. Just before sunrise is always the coldest.
In January, our coldest month, an average day is probably in the upper 60's.

I'm in SW Ontario as well. 72 wouldn't be hot but I'd still be wearing shorts....especially at this time of year coming from winter and going south. We typically go to Florida Jan-March and love the warmth (even if cool for Florida). We were there last Feb and my wife would start some mornings with a long sleeve shirt and shorts but my daughter and I would be in shorts and t-shirts. Some late evenings we'd put on a long sleeve shirt to go with shorts.

Yeah at 72 we would wear shorts and a long sleeve shirt or jeans and t-shirt.
Hoodie in the evenings.
I'm not saying 72 is cold, just that even as a Canadian I don't find that "hot". We normally travel further south in the winter like Jamaica or take a Caribbean cruise so we are "guaranteed" weather in the mid 80's at least.
I have been to Florida in December and January when the high was only low 50's. We couldn't wait to sail away on our cruise :)
Just not our beach/pool weather, but perfect for park touring.
But anything in the 70's is very nice and comfortable. Totally agree.

72 isn't hot here for a day in July...
But 72 on an evening in February?? Pretty good.

Oh it's the low? Yeah that's very good!
I thought it was the high.
Our high was 43 today. lol
Right now at 1 am it's still above freezing at 35. Supposed to be highs in the 50's after tomorrow.
Which we also experienced in Orlando in January often.
The climate is changing and not in a good way...
Most of our friends here and kids especially are upset there has been hardly any snow this winter as they like to ski/snowboard.
I try not to complain about the weather as it's hardly perfect anywhere and is ever changing...

Not the low per se, but yes it was the evening temp when folks were about.
It's almost 1 am now and 65°.

That's very nice actually, I'd be happy with that.
I edited my post because I hit post reply too soon but our low right now is 35.....
Do you want to build a snowman ?
Lol just kidding no snow right now :(

Lol!!! We were in the mid 80's during the day today. No snow here either!

Ummm no. We spent all day yesterday in pool. It was like 83 and gorgeous. Are you sure you are in Florida? Lol

Read the title of the post again.

I don't think the OP is in Florida.
I think the OP is WANTING to be in Florida.

I don't think so because they later posted this after someone asked if they were sure they were at WDW.
"Ya, sure am sure where we are and it's ok but was thinking we'd be in shorts and 80+ degrees. Jeans and socks for us this week."

So funny how different we all feel about the weather. We're from the east coast of Canada and we've been in central Florida since Feb 5th.....haven't put on long pants since we landed at MCO and we only put on hoodies at the after hours event on Feb 9th.

I checked the temp and it says 72. After sunset (no sun to bask in), and windy... yeah, I'd say that's cool. Zero chance I'd ride Splash in that.

Why would you not ride Splash in 72 degree weather ? Why would you not ride Splash in any weather. Most of the ride is indoors, and the drop is outside and you barely get wet.
In colder weather they do regulate the water sorays.

here in nh right now it is 21 in the last week we have got 2 feet of new snow 40 or 50 would be a heat wave right now but my wife would be cold it is just what your use to me cold starts at 25 hot is anything over 65

To expand on a prior post, rationally I know 60°, 70°, etc are not "cold." Honestly, I'm thankful for 30° temps where we currently are when family tells me it's -20° (real temp, not windchill) or lower back home. (One day a couple weeks ago, I saw people reporting temps as low as -73°!)

But once you've lived in a truly hot place (and not even a "it gets hot in the north, too" place, but a really hot place), the range of temperatures in which one is comfortable gets smaller and shifts up.

I also suspect that like myself, many people think of Florida and imagine it being 80°+ and sunny. I've been to WDW in winter (the first time traveling from New England), and it is somewhat disappointing having to wear a jacket and long pants. (It's also annoying when temps are high enough to wear shorts and go without a coat in the daytime, but you either have to haul around extra clothes or endure being chilled once sun sets.)
