My DH has just decided that we should fly to WDW instead of driving, and stay in a hotel because we cant bring all of our camp gear on the plane. I was really looking forward to a longer, more relaxed and less scheduled vacation this time. Now I have to make reservations for more sit down meals because I can only eat so many average hamburgers and stuff at the food court and counter service places. So all in all I'm going to have to shorten the entire vacation and it will still cost more than if we were to spend more time chilaxing at The Fort. :(

I have read on the forum that several people ship their gear by UPS and its held untill you arrive, you then ship it back the same way. Maybe this a option.

Where ever you stay it will still be Disney. :mickeyjum

also depending who you fly with, you could possibly check your tent etc as baggage... I have seen other who fly and camp on here. HTH

Sorry bout the Fort thingy, :sad1: But like they said, your still doing Disney !!

I really like your word "Chilaxing" ,, very good, :thumbsup2

Yes this is another option to consider, although I'd probably end up having to leave behind alot of creature comforts. We tend to bring alot when we camp up to and including the kitchen sink :)

Hey! You will be at Disney. Take a breath and enjoy.
I love The Fort and it is always my first choice, but I have on occasion the past few years gone a time or two with friends and with my daughters family and we stayed at resorts. I still had a great time. Each resort has it's own surprises.
I would however draw the line there. I will not stay off property.

I know how you feel! That happened to me last December. We do our 2 weeks at FW every Dec. until last year. It's a long story but we ended up at PORS we had a great time. yeah it wasn't FW but is was Disney!

We would never dream of staying off site. I'm considering PORS or CBR, but we'll probably end up at the POP. We already know that we like it there and DGrS age 3 will probably enjoy the icons. I'll just have to content myself with an afternoon visit to the Fort to let DGrS ride the pony's, and I'm considering renting a golfcart for the day and just exploring.
