So.....Are you done with shopping?

I am going to pick up my son's PS 3 tomorrow. I ordered a few more things online last night. I need to order 2 more things for my husband online and I am done except putting some money in envelopes. I agree with the earlier posts - it was easier when my DS was younger - we have moved into the big boy toys and prices.

I'm about 90% done and 50% done wrapping. Luckily our family decided to only buy for the kids so no longer do I buy for my 5 siblings and my in-laws, but only the children.

I buy gifts throughout the year for Christmas and birthdays as I see things 75 - 90 % off. Or I buy things using gift cards that I've received (usually as recognition through work) and that way I keep the out of pocket expenses really low. And to top it off, I order gift cards from my Discover cash back so again, it doesn't hit out of pocket. It is like a game to me to see how much I can get for the least amount of money. I'm really proud of not over-spending at the holidays.

As for my kids, I agree that the things they want get more expensive as they get older. But I also have learned they get SO much from our extended family that they really don't need a lot from me. They don't notice who gives them what even though we write it all down and send thank you notes!

I still have to get 2 beanbag chairs, 2 Wii games, 2 ds games, an iPad and some gift cards. All of the toys for the kids are bought and riding around in the trunks of the cars.

spooky how similar your list is to mine....DS just wants an ipad. I'm almost relieved to be done with the purchasing overpriced pieces of plastic for my hard earned work....:lmao: Yes more expensive but at least I'm purchasing an item that MIGHT have some resale value.

I am done and everything is wrapped. I am having a hysterectomy in the beginning of Dec. I did not want to rely on my husband and kids to get everything done.

DH's birthday is next week, so I got him a refurb Ipod Touch 3g, case, and charger. Then, I got him a Touchpad for XMas, a wool coat, and the Star Wars blu ray set. Bought DD22 a laptop for a combo Xmas/grad gift, plus clothes. DD18 is getting an MP3 player, coat, and clothes. DD9 is getting MP3 player and games for DS and Wii. BIL and future SIL getting Tshirts. Mom getting Pandora looking bracelet. Still need to find something Kindle related for MIL, something for dad, stocking stuffers, wine for DD's future inlaws, and some games for me. I'm hoping the class mom will do a collection again for gift cards for the teachers. I hit the Old Navy sales this weekend something fierce, and got a ton of coats/sweaters for a huge discount!

Yup, I'm done! I have BOTH of the trees up, one with presents wrapped and under already!

I'm pretty much done with the shopping. I did realize that I don't have a birthday present for my dad & I'll take care of that this week. I started wrapping last night so I could take some stuff up over Thanksgiving.
No tree up or anything like that.

I'm done shopping for my DD12. She's getting a laptop (the $269 Toshiba Best Buy had last week) and a Chi flat iron. I'll pick her up a few inexpensive gifts on Black Friday (throw blanket, house shoes, pj's, etc..).
My DS14 wanted a desktop computer. Well we had a perfectly good one just sitting in the garage. Brought it in, cleaned it up, removed all the unneeded programs. Bought new cords, mouse, and keyboard and $60 later he's all set :thumbsup2 But now he can't figure out what he wants for Christmas. I figure he'll just want Xbox games. He could use some new hoodies too. I think I might get both kids those hoodies with the ear buds.
I need to buy something for my mom and step dad and 2 year old niece. I will get her gift while we're at Disney.
I've decided this year DH will be shopping for his family. He needs to get something for his mom, dad, sil and her fiance.

I am more than half done. Many of the gifts I still need are gift cards, so easy to obtain.

I'm done with my kids, dh and a couple others but I still have more to get. I hope to finish them up this week.

My ds just made his offical list last night, when he showed it to my dh he said "it's kind of early isn't it?" Thank goodness I'm the one who handles the Christmas shopping.
