So are WDW ticket prices increasong too?

Just off the phone with Disney. If you buy tickets today using the Canadian 25% off offer, they will not expire. Beginning Feb 12 the Canadian offer tickets will have an expiry date of December 31, 2017. No need to worry they say because your tickets will have a purchase date associated with them and the rules in effect on the purchase date will apply.

We are travelling January 2018 so if we don't buy today our ticket costs will be 25% more tomorrow.

Well this is crushing. And likely the end of our trip next year. Well done Disney.

Trust me there's nothing you can offer that we don't already do - stay off site, drive down, make our own food, pack snacks, don't buy souvenirs etc...

The real peeve? I just transferred the money yesterday to buy the tickets, but it won't be accessible until Tuesday or Wednesday. It was going to save us $700+ (figuring in the new increase).Even more when you factor in the invitable Feb 2018 increase.

I'm so sorry. PM me if you want. I'm a Disney guru and might have some money saving tips to make trip possible.

It's really awful. I'm an AP holder but friends are joining us in January. If they didn't purchase today ticket prices would be 25% more. I can see it being a deal breaker.

Yeah. I could cry in all honesty. Well, I'm torn between being crushed and angry. For months they have advertised this deal without expiration, and now, with what 12 hours notice, they change it?! All the fricking crap my daughter goes through and she begs and begs to go back, and we wanted to go this year but just couldn't because of her health issues and the possibility of surgery, so we said next year. Except now, the price just went up $700, and unless there is a drastic increase in our dollar between now and then (which is highly unlikely), to buy tickets is going to cost us $2000+. And I just can't justify that. Not even for her. We had even looked into Make a Wish foundations etc... but because her illness isn't life threatening, there's nothing available here in Canada. All because some greedy company decided to go back on their word at the last minute. I mean cripes - there was what, 2 weeks left? Seriously? They can't honor that deal for two more weeks? They disgust me.

I know this won't help much...but think silver lining - they are now encouraging you to see all of the other amazing places the world has to offer outside of Disney...with FP+ screwing offsiters, they lost us in 2013 and we left that year...since that time, we've had lovely trips to Canada/Boston/Maine on a cruise, to "other" Orlando twice, to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens (including Christmastown), to Origins Game Fair and Columbus OH/Pittsburgh PA, to Wildwood Boardwalk and the NJ shore, and this year to Grand Turk and the Bahamas (on another cruise). Yes, a few years we managed 2 trips b/c they were so much cheaper:). We had done 12 years in a row of annual Disney vacations before branching out and it's been the most refreshing change ever and the kids love it! There was only a little wistfulness our 1st year away and then nothing - now, we have 1 day non-expiring MK tickets to hit Christmas week one year with our Florida family, but we'll do it when we have the most to gain, not Disney (we thought about using them last year, but no one wanted to go and fight MK crowds since no other park had anything taking crowds away - go figure - guess I'm glad they don't expire - we're now thinking of using them in 2019 once Star Wars opens, so MK can finally get rid of some crowds:))...

My friend bought her tickets at CAA today. They say they are good through 2018. Maybe check with them?

So from what I'm gathering it would appear that single day tickets and annual passes are increasing in price but multi day tickets for both WDW and DL are staying the same price but adding expiration dates.
As long as that's the case I'm golden as I get multi day tickets. I'm not gonna worry too much.
I do think there has got to be a limit to how much people are willing to spend before they have to continuously offer major ticket discounts.

I see Undercover Tourist newsletter said they're expecting a similar increase in price in multi-day as well. So, who knows. Would those be increased tomorrow as well? Or might they delay them? (especially if they were going to try and restructure to a tier since nothing has really come out on them yet?)

I think that Pandora will be the last of the great, immersive efforts from creative. That's because Pandora was incubated before the emphasis was placed so heavily on profits before show. Some people will point to Star Wars Land and say that's what is next but the priority has shifted away from greatness and more towards quick and cheap. There have been so many misfires lately that I lack the faith in parks management to wow us like in the past.

That's an interesting take on Pandora vs. Star Wars Land.

Possibly Avatar Land HAS been affected by the budget cuts/profit squeezing that you're talking about. I think that many of us were taken aback when aerial pictures came out a couple of months ago showing a surprisingly small building for the Pandora River ride. Nowhere near the scale of Pirates or Splash Mountain. The big bucks (or at least the innovation) are all in the rocks, trees and glowing vegetation, the rides themselves are not groundbreaking in any way.

Star Wars is a special case in this way: the fans are nuts. They are ecstatic if you can sell them anything that looks like a stormtrooper or Darth Vader. Even a cupcake or a popcorn bucket. Look at all the junky cereal and snacks clogging the middle of the aisles in Wal-Mart. Taking their picture with a Disney employee in a Star Wars costume practically makes them wet their pants. Disney really doesn't have to make a spectacularly generously-sized or innovative Star Wars land.

I'm very happy that they're adding Star Wars Land and I will love visiting it, but I don't think they are going to spend a very large amount of money on anything except (1) ride buildings for high-capacity video-based simulator rides with a minimal footprint and minimal movement per guest, and (2) really humongous souvenir shops.

This is a long shot but consider contacting guest services and explaining your circumstances and dilemma. I definitely would do it. At worse nothing will come of it but at best Disney might be able to help you out. Here is the contact email. Write and send one today! The date will be important.

Good luck!
