My DD really wants a Snuggie ... :confused3. At first, I thought it was a really silly idea (I think the people in the ad look like monks:laughing:) But she has asked numerous times and says she will really use it. So I asked her to wait until after Christmas so I could find a bargain. Now that I'm ready to buy one, I find out that they might not hold up so well, that the fabric isn't very thick or strong and that there are other manufacturer's with a similar but better product. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Snuggies? Did yours hold up? Do you know of other brands that might be better? Know of a good deal on these things?

I am not an expert and I never thought I would have one myself but I did get a Snuggie for Christmas. I have used it on numerous occasions since then and I love it. My DH does say I look like a monk so you are right there. LOL Basically its a thin blanket with sleeves but thats about it. Since its only been a little over a week that I have had it I can't tell how well it will hold up but it seems to be ok.

I'm sorry - but isn't a Snuggie like $14.99 at CVS or Walgreen's? How much of a better deal are you looking for?:rotfl:

my dd13 laughed at my snuggie when I opened it. She didn't take it off once she got a hold of it!!
i love it, it is warm for a thin blanket.

I hate to say it, but I have a Snuggie-brand Snuggie. I won it or I probably wouldn't have considered it otherwise. My teenagers LOVE the freaking thing. Probably because (think about this) they can wear their favorite short sleeve shirts, play video games, and still keep their arms warm. LOL! The Snuggie brand ones are pretty thin. If you can find a thicker one, go for it (and let me know).

When my wife got hers, they came in two flavors, the regular one and one that was extra thick. She got the extra thick one. It's held up well.

You can use a 20% off coupon at Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Linen and Things. They seem to be $15 everywhere. That being said, I have a Slanket- far superior to a Snuggie. They are thicker and bigger but only found on Ebay now.

I'm sorry....did you just say "Slanket?"

I just spewed coffee.

MAcy's has a really good one. And it's thicker than the regular snuggie

My Snuggie was a gift. I find it pretty useless and certainly not something I would buy for myself. I've tried to re-gift it with no luck - had 20 people here for New Year's and everyone either had one or didn't want one!

But for the price, why not buy one and let your daughter find out for herself? You can always do what I plan to do with mine - donate it to the Salvation Army or Goodwill!

The Slanket also comes in kids & adult sizes, the Snuggie does not. I'm petite and could easily make 2 Snuggies out of the one that I won this Christmas in a gift swap. That being said, it is incredibly warm for a thin piece of fabric. I think I would opt for the Slanket if I was buying one though.

You can buy the Slanket on their website, QVC, amazon.com, SkyMall and a bunch of other websites. I hear that Brookstone sells a similar product as well.

My mom got a Snuggie and a Cozy Wrap (bought at BJs wholesale club). We compared them, and the Cozy Wrap was much bigger and more thick and plush. DD has a Justice version of the Snuggie, and hers is pretty nice- it is about the same size as a Snuggie, but a bit more plush- and it comes in really cute patterns (DD's is hot pink with little Justice monkey faces all over it).

The Snuggie now comes in kids sizes. My DD gave me her old one and now has a kid-sized one. They also come in (I kid you not!) dog sizes.

I didn't know that, but I did know about the dog ones. Can you picture your fav pooch lounging around in his/her own Snuggie? There's just something so wrong with that picture.

Santa brought a Snuggie to each member of my family this year. It was kind of a gag gift, but... we LOVE them. For as thin as they are they're actually pretty warm.

I bought them at Kohl's. They were on sale for $14.99, and I had a 30% off coupon if I used my Kohl's charge. I got them for a bit over $10.00 each :cool1:.

Actually the Snuggie does come in a kids size and dog sizes too

Sorry - guess I am a little late

Bought them didn't like them. Didn't think it was warm. Wasn't comfortable. JMHO
