Snowmedic's Trip Report 2014

Like Poltergeist you say...

I can't submit my loop request fast enough!

After you painted such a vivid picture in my mind I can only assume there is some sort of social profiling that goes on in some back room at the fort.

I hope they didn't note my daily yoga pants attire that compliments my daily messy bun hair. That combined with how I drive my golf cart just might put us on their " those people belong on the 2000 loop" list.

I'm screwed if said list exists...

I gotta back Medic up on this whole upgrade thing. I left from my site around 6:30 that morning to walk around and make my way from 1400 over to 2000 to meet Vince before he headed out. I walked around 1400, through 600, around 900, then down to the 4 way headed to loop 2000. Quiet as a mouse...I mean everything was silence... Halfway down to 2000 you started hearing it. When I stepped onto 2000 loop it looked like the scene from Poltergiest when all the kids toys were flying around. Kids everywhere in pajamas, on bikes, skateboards, and running and screaming. No adults to be seen...you couldn't hear yourself think...and it was 7:00 am! Oh, and with the exception of Medic's and about 5 other sites, they had 2 cars per site, some even had 3. I walked on around and took the bridge over to 900...and it was quiet again...

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip and are back home safely! Lots of memories and pictures to 'keep' you on those long winter days/nights, eh? Oh, my, glad it's you and not us in Vermont - don't think this southern girl, or her hubby, would make it through one northern winter! :scared:

And yikes about the 2000 loop - don't think we could make it camping there. Not a tent camper, but don't think we'd like it in a mh either. Sounds like a little to much 'togetherness' for me!

That is how DW and I feel about the Fl. heat. We get 2 weeks of hot and humid weather up here and it is terrible. Oct. was a great time to be there.

The whole time we where there we didn't need an alarm clock to get us up. The noise started about 6 a.m. every morning.

We knew the sound of every scooter, skate board, and bike with training wheels, and knew what site they belonged in.

And as for the parking situation in the 2000, Tiggerdad was right, with the exception of a couple of sites, the rest had 2 or 3 cars and 2 or 3 golf carts also. And they wouldn't even try to get them off the road, as long as a car could get by, they didn't care.

We drove our car to the parks, Universal everyday, and trying to get around the loop was terrible. The parents would pull up the chairs to the edge of the road, and watch the kids play in the middle. When we would drive by the kids would just stand there and there parents would not say a thing. I didn't know if I should have started racking up points or not. :drive:

I will be reading along to see what kind of luck you have with 1500, if you are able to snag a site there.

Apparently they were all at the beach last night WOW!!!! Looped 100 200 300 400 500 700 all's quiet up here. Decorations are starting to show up.

Snowmedic,

Glad you are home safe. I want to say i bet the Mannheim concert was great. Was it a Christmas music show or their regular music?

Hear ya about 2000 loop. A lot of groups (multiple sites requested) get put there when Creekside Meadow is booked up. Its one reason we dont do Tent loops as often as we could have with our popup.

So great job. Tiggerdad is in the barrel now and i will have my turn coming up.

Bama ed, The Mannheim concert was a mix of their Christmas music and some of there Fresh Aire music. They played about 20 songs, and it was great.

After the concert I bought their new double LP record and got the members autographs on the cover. I'm glad I don't have a record player.

My DD 15, got autographs as well. She was talking to the Violin player, cause that is what she wants to learn to play, and he gave her his website if she was serious about it and he would autograph it before it got sent out.
So, it was a pretty neat experience.

Tiggerdad may be in the barrel now, hoping there will be a couple more Diser's there doing TR until you get there.

Cold here up north, about 28 today. Hoping Tiggerdad stays warm.

It is good to be home even if it is cold and snowing.

On to the pics,

After paying good money for a site, not sure if I would be willing to see this:

But, it is the Fort, I may be able to ignore it.

Hope everyone enjoyed the TR. If you are heading down, safe travels.

Thanks for the pictures and the TR. What do you mean Disney tents? Does Disney rent and set up tents? And was that large trailer in the tent loop?

We are booked to try tent camping for the first time in March and I like the area where the 2000 loop is located. We've always stayed full hookup and we love those four loops - we are early risers (and have kids) so hopefully we can handle any noise! We like being so close to the pool and the activity areas. I can't wait!! (although I'm worried and can't figure out how we are going to stay warm or how I'm going to make my coffee with milk in the morning, or how I'm going find my site in the dark or how I'm going to keep my little one in the tent..or..or...or...:)

yes, Disney does rent out tents. I'm not sure that the trailer was or wasn't on the tent loop.

The 1500 loop is close to the main activities and main pool area ( Meadows ). You can request that one if you want to be close.

We have down graded from an RV to a tent ( haha ). Crazy I know! But gas is crazy expensive at 5 miles to the gallon! So we are going to give tent camping a try. We are coming in January and I'm bringing my coffee pot and milk! Along with sleeping bags, heaters, electric blankets and fans!

My kiddos have never tent camped before so it's going to be interesting!!!

I plan to bring some small white LED lights for exterior lighting.

Disney does rent those tents, cots for them also. Not sure how much they are. I have seen several of these set up in different loops throughout the Fort. Seen some CM's setting up one across from my site while I was there.

That trailer was in the 800?? loop, I seen it earlier during my visit in a different loop, not sure if same trailer, but it looks like it.

We brought Christmas lights with us. Hung one strand of white inside the tent, one strand of white from one tree to another on some para cord, and a set of blue lights on the awning of our tent. We didn't use a lantern the whole trip, had plenty of light.

We didn't have electric blankets, (wish we did) we had 2 quilts on our bed and the kids had 3 heavy blankets on there cots. DD 6 got cold and ended up spending one night in bed with us, DD 15 stole her blankets to stay warm.

On to the pic posting

Dw and I seen this set up Thursday night and couldn't figure out what it was, so this morning I went and looked, and this is what I found

Do you (or anyone else) recall/know what this trailer was called? Make?

I cant see any of the pictures :( my tent camping heart is dying to see photos!

I think that when the Boards where updated a few weeks ago the pics went away because they were not resized. :confused3 I know that when I do pics now I have to resize them. Sorry.
