Got mine a week ago, also the cute light up Mickey Snowman, and a small decorated Christmas tree with Minnie as the topper. Some requested sharing cookie receipes. I've made these for the last 20+years and they are a favorite with my kids.
Sugar Cookies
2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 butter(softened), 2 Tablespoons Milk, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 egg.
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowel at low speed mixer. (I have also had mixed and usually will make a double or triple batch of dough), beat until well blended. Shap dough in ball and refridgerate(can use immediately but dough will be soft to roll and will need to use alot of flour when rolling.) When dough is firm to handle, roll out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are browning on the edges. Cool cookies before icing.
Royal Icing - this is a hard top icing so after drying, cookies are stackable but I usually will seperate with a sheet of either wax paper or plastic wrap.
3 large egg whites at room temperature, 1/2 teaspoon creme of tartar, 1 16oz package of powdered sugar.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy, add sugar and beat until well combined. Beat an additional 5 to 7 minutes on high speed until icing reaches a good consistancy to pipe. It will form small peaks in the icing. Colors can be added with food coloring but I use Wilton paste colors. It doesn't change the consistancy of the icing and the colors are brighter. Leave cookies out until icing hardens.
Enjoy! Cookies have a nice taste and icing keeps the cookies softer. Amount varies by sizes of the cookie cutters.
