I just got up to put another log in the woodstove and OMG! it's like HORRIBLE CHICAGO SIBERIA ANTARCTICA out there right now...
I am SO going in to work late this morning. If I leave in the dark, I am more than likely gonna get stuck in a snowdrift between here and highway... (Well, we REALLY need the moisture and at least the power's on... so I shouldn't be griping but I SO wish I were in WDW right now... sittin' on the beach at Ft. Wilderness...watching the boats...sigh...)

How's your weather? Is there someplace you would rather be?

Your lucky It will be 79 here today and still no rain... and we need it bad:guilty:

Gosh, be careful with all that snow and nasty weather!

Yep, what OrlandoMike said. Beautiful sunny skies and a high of about 83 degrees. Not a lot of humidity and a gentle breeze.

Would I rather be somewhere else? Well, maybe. :teeth:

DVC-OKW,

Are you watching the news? Something weird is gonig on with the weather on the Osceola/Orange county boarder! :santa:

blah! 26 deg here, high of 34.........lots of snow on the ground and a nice layer of ice over it. more freezing rain tonight and more snow tomorrow.
yep, I sure would like to be in that volcano pool right about now, then sitting on the beach this evening watching the electric boat parade.
or even standing in line for tower of terror would be better than this.

Oh my gosh, Orlando Mike! I heard about a freak Florida snowstorm, but didn't realize it was so close! I thought it was up in Tallahassee!!!!

My parents live in the frozen northeast. :( Cold and snowy there too.

Well, it has finally begun warming up here--it's made it to 26F, so far, and they are predicting that it will make it to 30F tomorrow.

However, the warmer weather has brought snow. It's been lightly snowing all day and is expected to get heavier tonight and to continue for days.

The snow banks along the side of our driveway are already above my shoulders. I'm not sure where I'm going to put the snow by the time Feb. roles around.

(This is going to be the year when I question why I don't either get a snowblower or pay someone else to clear my driveway--so, if I complain too much, remind me that it offends my environmental sensibilities to pollute in favour of avoiding something that is actually a good workout that keeps me healthy.)

I grew up in Detroit and I miss snow.. I don't miss the cold, the slush, the black or yellow snow but I do miss snow.

IF it snows here it doesn't stick or melts in like 2 hours. And every time I wake up and the "snow" is on the ground I want to take the day off and just go play in it.
:dance3:

One of the advantages of living further north is that the slush is pretty limited to the very beginning and end of winter and black snow gets covered quickly by clean white snow--we do have about a month in the spring that we refer to as muddy dog season. I'm not sure what you mean by yellow snow, though--polluted?

I want everyone who is dealing with inclement weather to be extra careful in all their activities....THIS IS A MOM SPEAKING...SO DO AS I SAY!

As for the weather here in PDX...We have a dry, cold, clear day..my absolute favorite kind. I hate the heat and am happiest all bundled up..even if I do have a rudolph nose :headache:

If it helps Rick the sun will be in my eyes on the way home from work today:lmao:

I'm trying to convince myself to go shovel....

It's still snowing, but if I shovel now it won't be so bad when I have to go out at 6am tomorrow.

I've done enough shoveling this year where it was already so deep that it took 2 hours to clear the 2 car driveway. I need to avoid that....

Anyone got any convincing words to get me out there now?

AND...We'll have some nice hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps waiting for you when you return. :drinking1 That is of course providing we don't drink it all before you're done and get snookered ourselves.
