what you're doing today. We are getting blanketed with snow right now and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. I am NOT a snow person so I'm trying to stay posititive. So..what is everyone doing today to keep warm/busy? Probably not budget related, but just wanted to know how other East coasters are dealing with today's weather. Thanks!

I'm in NJ too and I am not happy right now. I have to cancel my 7 year olds Glamour Makeover Birthday party that was supposed to be tonight! We are getting burried in Old Bridge !

all of our plans have gotten cancelled. Right now i am decideing on wheather to shower first and then go out to shovel, or shovel first.
After that I am gonig to clean the house.

Well if I had it my way I'd go into labor...but our snow hasn't quite lived up to the hype. I'll probably do laundry, some cleaning, and baking with my girls.

I'm in Northern Virginia. I'm spending my day trying to think of ways to thank my wonderful neighbor and his snowblower. He's out there right now, clearing my driveway for the 3rd time in about 14 hours. Other than that, staying inside, staying warm, and enjoying not having to run any errands.

Yup, I'm in Monmouth County also. This is such a bummer. I don't even want to do anything except curl up with my Kindle and read all day. But things have to get done, like laundry, cleaning, etc., but I just don't want to do it:headache: I did shovel a path for my puppy this am and it nearly wiped me out.

We're blanketed to, but we made no plans for the day, expecting it to be this way. I'm looking forward to taking some pictures later and building snowmen with the kids. I did my cleaning last night, so I plan to play with the kids and DH and work on my scrapbooks.

Oh - I'll also be making some real hot chocolate - warm milk, melted chocolate and whipped cream. MMMMMM

My DD(s) swim meet got cancelled so we don't know what we are going to do. A day off, what is that!?! :rotfl: I am going to break out a board game and have some family time, we get so little of that anymore. :yay: Enjoy your day, whatever it is you decide to do.

Also in NJ and snowed in. We'll be playing Wii and I'll be making more bread today in my bread machine. DH loves it when it comes out hot and fresh!

I wish I had bought that book I was looking at the other day.

We'll probably have to start shoveling later today when it stops coming down.

send some to north jersey.. aren't we the ones who is the past always got the most snow lol..

There is a dusting out there at best. So many things were canceled today.

Monmouth COunty here. It has gotten so much worse since we woke up this morning. We have gotten at least 4 inches since 8 this morning and the wind is starting to pick up.

We are just sitting around not doing much of anything. I bought 3 books the other day, I have some sewing to do and my needlework. Dh is watching Pre-pre-pre super bowl or a movie. Ds1 is up at Rutger's with his girlfriend and ds2 is at Rowan (he better be staying in watching dvd's like he told me he was going to do. He was going to the store yesterday to get soda and snacks so he can stay in)

Stay careful everyone.

Not lived up to the hype?! Are you serious?! I live in Howard County and we have 30inches. We are doing nothing today but relaxing. I doubt the kids will be back to school before Wednesday :(

My Hubby and I will be making our no sew blankets for the "Give a day get a day" promotion. While sitting by the fireplace and watch movies.

I will make hobo lunch which is a can of Bush's baked beans, 4-6 cut up hot dogs mixed into the bean. Place beans in a loaf pan. Mix up some corn bread and pour over the top of the beans. Bake till bread is golden brown.

Middlesex County, NJ - about 6 inches so far and now just flurries and a nasty wind (just like they predicted yesterday). Friend of mine in Wayne, NJ didn't even get one flake yet.

Just got in from shoveling. Only plans for today are to drive to local NJ Transit station and head into NYC for the NY Rangers hockey game!!!:cool1:

I think I will work on my no-sew blankets as well. Downloaded more books to my Kindle last night. I truly love love my Kindle DX.

Also buried in Monmouth County NJ. I guess about 10 inches so far, and it looks like we will get about a foot total, who knows. Drifts are deeper. My Shiba Inu dogs LOVE it (see my icon, that's them!)

And we will make cookies too I think!

Honestly? I'm laughing at all of the people and their 2 whole feet of snow! We live on the south shore of Lake Ontario and you don't know snow, until you've had a lake effect snow storm! We can get 2 feet of snow overnight and everything is business as usual the next morning!

Seriously, this is not a personal attack, but we are so used to the snow up here, it is kind of funny to watch everyone freak out!

We live in Gloucester County (South Jersey) and we too are buried! Not sure how much snow we have. Our plans obviously got cancelled and now we will attend a birthday party we couldn't make before the snow. Luckily, it's right next door so no traveling!!!

We were iced in here in NC last weekend. We played in the snow, baked banana bread and had hot chocolate, watched "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" on pay per view, played alot of Wii Sports Resort.

It is pretty funny how everything becomes like a state of emergency when we get more than a foot of snow. I am about an hour west of Washington, DC and for the past 24 hours, we have had round the clock coverage on all of the local channels. My husband has been working the snowblower for the past several hours and we just shoveled out his truck. I am wondering when and if the kids will be back to school??? Any guesses?:confused3

Michigan is looling pretty good right now! Seriously, two feet of snow and I would still be heading off to work. No rest for the nurses.
