Hello Snowbirds! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

I feel like I've been away forever--had about 10 pages to catch up on. Things were really busy around here for a while, and then I had an unexpected bout of post-Disney-trip blues. :sad2: But I've missed you all! I love hearing about everyone's upcoming trip plans. I know we'll be back some day!

My DH left two weeks ago for a ten-week class in Virginia. Eight more weeks to go! We all miss him a lot but we appreciate being able to talk and email every day, and skype a few times a week. Thank goodness for modern communication. And if he had to go somewhere, I'm just thankful that he's in the States instead of Iraq or Afghanistan.

Mindy, Chase is just adorable! I want to pick him up and snuggle him. :goodvibes
Shawna, hope you're feeling better! It stinks to be sick.
Kim, I'm still praying for your FIL and your whole family. I'll never forget the trip we took to WDW in 1983--it was about 8 months after my mom had been diagnosed with cancer and had been told her life expectancy was about 2 months. You never know what might happen. :grouphug:

Hope everyone has a magical Disney day. Keep those trip planning details coming! :goodvibes

So sorry to hear that your hubby is gone for so long I agree that it's better to have him on friendly soil, at least.

Shawna~I can totally relate to sleeping in an upright position. Chase and I cosleep and he's been having sinus issues since February. When it flares, I do everything in my power to keep him upright. Last night, I had him strapped to me in the sling while sitting in the overstuffed chair in the living room. It's been 3 nights now and I'm BEAT!

Pluto fan~ sorry you were down in the dumps! I always feel sad when we leave! I try to just feel so blessed that we got to take yet another Disney vacation..but you still feel a little blue! I am thankful for you that your hubby is here!! I know it's probably hard for you and the kids for him to be gone that long though...just keep hanging out with us here when you can and we will talk your head off to keep you company!!! ha!!!!!!
Mindy~ I remember those days/nights!! I miss it!!!! I am feeling better sinus/coughing wise...but this darn crick is killling me....it's now moved out of the curve of my neck down my shoulder blade...I found the most comfortable position is to hold my left arm like it's in a sling. WOW that's gonna look real weird carrying it around like that all day!!! Ha!!!

Hello Snowbirds.... you all have been pretty chatty while I was gone... lets see... great baby photos, anniversary celebrations, not feeling well.... I hope everyone is on the mend, celebrated anniversaries and kissing that cute baby.... and planning for those November trips now that the hours are out!!!

We arrived home from Myrtle Beach yesterday.... Dan's team won the chmapionship for their division... it was fun... beautiful weather.... plus two college visits in... Coastal Carolina University and Methodist University... liked them both... I think he is leaning towards Methodist though...

we are off to NY City this weekend with the band for a 3 day trip... seeing a couple of broadway productions and lots of sightseeing...

We made our November plane reservations this morning... We arrive on Nov 5th and depart on Nov 12th.... now I have to make dining and book a room... just incase it doesn't work out with Maggies college program discount...

We received Mickey Mail today.... its our paperwork for our May 27th trip.... can't wait... a good friend and her family decided last minute to join us.... I had to move around a bunch of dining reservatiions but it was worth it...

well... off to baseball.... seems to never end.... have a blessed day everyone!!!

Shawna.,.... I wish I could but I already bought the plane tickets.... maybe they will change our flight and I can make the change without fees:rotfl: I am excited to go at that time as my DH has never been to the food and wine festival... I have been many times but not him..... plus the PGA golf tournament is that week and he really wants to watch the practice rounds....
thats too bad we will miss you by a day..... now to decide where to stay...

You ARE busy, Wendy!

Shawna~Thought of you tonight. DH is headed to Italy tomorrow and asked if I wanted anything. I told him to bring be back a bag from Gucci LOL. It'll never happen but it's fun to dream. He needs to talk with your hubby, I think.

Air fare is booked.... then last night DS invites his girl friend and they go on line and buy her ticket...... we love her.... but that means now I am going to need a room for 5.... suggestions... recommendations.....

Good morning everyone!!!! Today is my 8 year wedding anniversary! :goodvibes Of course, because we're always so busy, I won't even get to see Tony until sometime after 9pm tonight. We were going to try to get lunch today, but he has a ton of meetings and other things going on. So, we went out to lunch yesterday! We went to Bravo and it was SO yummy! We then went over to the Cheesecake Factory and got a slice of cheesecake to take home (we were so stuffed after lunch). That cheesecake was super yummy too...it was brownie sundae. We still have some of it left, so we're going to let Madison have it for dessert tonight.

Hi Snowbirds! It's been a while since I've been able to check in. We've been super busy around here trying to get the garage project finished. We've been working on it since last Sept! :scared1: I spent the weekend painting it and Jason started installing the ceiling tiles last night. Plus we've all been hit with a lovely cold. I've had a frog in my throat for a week now. At least the rain has ended and the sun is finally shining. :goodvibes

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

Happy Anniversary Meghan!

Here's a pic of what's been keeping me from the DIS lately!

Almost done!!! We just need to finish the ceiling, install the floor, kitchen cabinets for the kitchenette and then trim and final details! :cool1:

:butterfly:daisy::flower1: Happy Anniversary!!!!

Kim - its looking great.... can't wait to see photos of it all finished!!!

Well I have been doing some thinking about this room situation for our Nov trip... tell me what you think... I want to stay at a deluxe resort and get the dining plan with Maggies discount (pretty sure it will be available). DH wants to stay at SOG because the PGA Childrens Miracle Network tournament is that week... he said that practice rounds will be Wednesday (and maybe Tuesday)... so I am thinking since we check in on Friday night... lets stay at the Boardwalk or Beach club Friday thru Tuesday and then transfer over to SOG.... then we can get the dining plan for a few nights and do the majority of our table service those nights.... I was able to get the reservation at the SOG... I made it for the whole week incase Maggie can't get us a great discount....

I think that sounds like a reasonable compromise.... what do you think? (of course that is because I would be getting my way...lol)

Just read your last post too...I was going to suggest the Contemporary or the Beach Club! Those are my two favorite deluxes...we did CR in Dec and we'll be back at the BC for our next trip!!

Happy Anniversary Meghan!

Looks good!! Was missing you!! How's your FIL?

Okay girls, what are your thoughts on this line of thinking......while I adore all disney promos and freebies.....are any of you tired of standing in the Magic Express line? I am considering shelling out the $$ and just getting a taxi...the last couple of time that line was totally outrageous:scared1: We waited in Jan of 09(the time when we expected NO ONE to be there at that time of year) for over an hour!!!Between the line itself to the counter and the loading of the bus...then waiting for allllll the other guests to be dropped off it makes the arrival day even longer! No matter what resort we are at, we always get dropped last!!! So...any of you notice that and just say skip it? I mean, we are ready to get there!!! then we have to wait 3-4 hours for luggage... we do bring bathing suits in our carry on, but I just hate that waiting around! I would reeeeaaaalllllly like to splurge and have a limo bring us!! BUT, it's $100 each way!!Of course, if I put a little back each week that would be an awesome surprise for my dh and kids wouldn't it!!!! Hmm...that sounds good!!! We have to get up soooo early for our flights, then to stand at the airport all that time is exhausting!!! I have gotten a major headache on arrival day the last 2 or 3 years,,,I have noticed I start to feel it when I am on the bus....I wonder if it's the stress of that line and all those people crammed into such a small space? Okay..now I am rambling...just give me some feedback girls!!!!! Pros and cons!popcorn::

sounds good to me!! I think then you would both be getting your way!

Shawna -- We have never had a bad ME experience. . . In-fact most times it is 1-1 1/2 hours from the time we step off the plane to the time we are checking into our resort. . . So I personally wouldn't pay the extra for a cab. But I can see how you would be turned off after such a long wait.

I always get a nasty migraine on arrival day too. :headache: I think it's a combination of things -- the airport, the flight, and being anxious, nervous, & excited!! I do plan to take excedrin BEFORE we even leave next time. Hopefully that will help! :thumbsup2

Shawna - I have not had any issues with ME. But I am also too cheap to pay more when I can get something free. Do you ever listen to the DIS unplugged podcasts? They had a segment about transportation on a recent one and said don't take taxis. A lot of issues. I know they said that most of the trans. *** are owned by Mears. Years ago my parents used Mears from the airport (before ME) and it was fine. I think the DIS has a company that is a sponsor and would be reputable. Check this out. http://www.fltours.com/
If you feel that all that stress is making you sick and you can't enjoy your vacation, especially at the very beginning, I'd go with a limo!! It would be fun for all of you too!

Shawna - What about doing something like a Town Car service? Then you also get the grocery stop so you wouldn't need to do a grocery service or even bring any snacks! I think there is some info under the transportation page. Check the links and threads there! Some VERY wise and knowledgeable people! Good Luck!!! :goodvibes
