QOTD~I guess I'm strange, I've never really been into Christmas movies. We recorded the Santa Clause 3 last night but I haven't watched it yet! The newer ones are more my speed (I know someone else said that, too).

My faves are The Christmas Story - the red ryder BB gun! I will never stick my tongue to a flag pole because of that Movie! The Santa Clause and Elf with Will Ferrel!


Sorry I havrn't been around much my Snowbird peeps! Life has been way too crazy these last couple weeks! I am barely keeping up with all the important stuff, never mind DISing!

Sheree and Shawna, my gosh, those trips snuck up so quickly! Sheree, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you all travel on the way to WDW! Drive safe, my friend!

Shawna, enjoy these last few days before you leave for your trip! Don't wish them away! Remember that each and every day holds an opportunity! Be well, my friend! My oldest has been bugging us to buy him a BB gun b/c "every good Texan needs a gun". I just keep telling him, "You'll shoot your eye out." hehe

The thing that I miss most about my boys being small is that baby smell. Every once in a while I get the urge for a baby. We can't have any more, but I would love to have one that I could babysit from time to time. I keep wishing that my sister would have one, but I don't think that is going to happen.

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes for our trips!!!! Sheree will be heading out later today!!! I have ballet, both boys' guitar lessons and packing today. Was looking forward to sleeping in a bit ---had a horrible dream and woke up before 4 and can't go back to sleep. Tomorrow is ds13s bday....can't believe he is gonna be 14!!!! CRAZY!!! He is such an awesome kid!!!!!! OOhhhhh, how I love that little fella!!!!!! Well, I love them all, but you know how mushy you get when it's their bday! Hopefully I can get a really great picture of me and him...you can see how tall he has gotten and yes...how much he does look like his mother! He hates to hear it, but it's true!!! I have found that most of my friends/family, the oldest kids look the most like the mother...most, not all!!!Well,,hopefully we will get snow tomorrow and not Sat morning! How weird would that be that a plane in Houston is delayed for snow!!!! It would happen to me....but I would get a kick out of it!! It doesn't snow like that here ever...not enough for it to be a flight concern usually...we'll see!!!! If I don't get back on here before I leave(which I will try to!!) I will see you guys when we get home!! Keep the threads hopping and lively!!!!! I will be missing ya'll!!!

Snow in TEXAS!! Woohoo!! We just got a dusting. It can wait as far as I'm concerned, we will get plenty over the next 4 months!!

Thank you all for the well wishes for our trip! I'm so excited I feel like I'm going to cry, puke or burst open!!! HA! We were up early again today! I have a slow morning at work, and then have to be in court in the afternoon. I hope I can focus on what I have to do!! I feel like I'm shaking - I've never felt this way before a trip - even to WDW! I just hope time goes by quickly until we get on the road around 5 p.m. My kids were up by 6 a.m., so I'm sure they will sleep in the car tonight. We're pretty much packed, just have to throw in the last few toiletries. My parents are coming to get the dog and his personal belongings this afternoon. Poor little guy, he knows something's up (the suitcases give it away I suppose) and he's a bit out of sorts. He probably won't eat for a day or so after we leave. Whew! I need to take a deep breath and relax. Desk Yoga maybe??

Oh, more news (non-disney)! My friend since 4th grade called me last night and said they are moving to London for 3 years. When we were kids, her family moved to Brussels for her dad's job (3M). Now her husband got a job in London with his company (General Mills)!! It's like deja vu!! They really wanted to do this - their kids are 11 and 8 and will go to an american school there. Before they had kids, they spent a year in Scotland when she did a teacher exchange (my first trip to Europe was visiting them!) SO, we are planning a trip to London for summer 2011!!! Have to save up for airfare! We already have passports from cruising and the kids' expire in 2012, so we better use them, right?

DH actually made sure that we are finished back in May! It was very traumatic for him LOL Poor guy!


I have some fabulous Disney news to share. DH surprised me this morning with my Christmas gift . . . a surprise trip to Disney in January! Now, it won't be the fabulous, on-property, lengthy stay like I would like, but I'm not going to complain. We'll more than likely stay at the Hilton DTD. We've stayed before and it was nice (not like staying at the Poly, though). DH has a flight down for work so we'll fly down on the same day and then stay a few extra days after he returns.

The best part, for me at least, is that we aren't going to tell Rylan about it until we get on the airplane. He has been so disappointed because all of his friends have gone or will be going in the next couple months . . . 3 different friends. Now I hope that he grows that last 1/4 of an inch so that he can ride Space Mountain for the first time!


My favorite Christmas movies are A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation!

Thanks! I'm so excited. Nervous about taking a new baby to Disney, especially since my germaphob MIL will be along.

I have so much to plan. DH was able to find a flight for $39 on way!

After the pregnancy that I just endured, I deserve this vacation! LOL It was a LOOOOONGGG 9 months!

Meghan...amen!! ha!! Mike would tell me and blurt it out! Ha!! I think he could do it if he HAD to, but since he has me, he never has to do it!HA!!! Mindy...congrats!!As far as taking a newborn...I would rather take one in Jan than after May when it starts getting hot!!! Just keep him warm and don't let tooooo many people breathe on him I think he'll be fine!! I kept my kids outta church and stuff til 6-8 weeks...after that I just tried to keep people from getting in their faces so much.... do you have one of those things to carry him on you in the front of you/sling thing? That would keep people away from him at such a close proximity....I think that was wonderful of your hubby to do this for you!! Tell him all the Disney Ladies are quite proud of him!!!

Just a thought...since it's snowing here...I am now an official Snowbird!!! ha!!! It did snow a little last dec too...so maybe things are cooling off for here now!! I have griped about the heat so much, the Lord blessed us with some snow!!!!!!

Meghan~My hubby has done NO planning whatsoever where this trip is concerned. He's just offering up the funding. I'm going to be doing all of the leg-work but that's fine with me. I can plan things according to what I want now.

Shawna~I will be taking my sling and wearing Chase most of the time. I don't even own a stroller that is appropriate for him because I'd rather have him close. I can't believe I'm going to be "that" mom and take a new baby to Disney. I swore that I would never do that LOL It's a good thing that I'm breastfeeding. At least he's getting lots of immunity from me. I've had the flu this past week and so far (knock wood) he's been good.

So it looks like we'll be doing just 3 days of parks and no dining plan, staying at the Hilton. Can't pass up all of those free hotel stays!

When I see babies that little with their parents and older siblings, well, I kind of assume that the trip is for the siblings! And then "Wow, that's got to be a lot of work!"

Shawna, I think you saw snow before I did. Okay, on Black Friday, I woke up to some stuck to our deck, but that's it. My husband swears he saw a half dozen snowflakes today. Sure is cold enough for it!! And then, of course, he wanted to go downtown after work. I was wearing a knee length skirt and tiny ballet flats. Tights aren't THAT warm and then there's carrying two metal sticks! (It's Midnight Madness tonight, which is always cold and I always enjoy but we skipped 95% of it because of my crutches)
