Hi, everybody! I've been out of town at my aunt's house for Thanksgiving weekend - and she must be the only person left in the US without Internet access!!! So I haven't been on.

Had a great Thanksgiving, and got some good deals on Black Friday. But I won't do the 4 AM thing; we went after lunch! Got jeans for me and my d at Old Navy for $15!

This year, since my H moved his entire office into our house, there won't be much decorating. His files are all in the basement, so I don't think I can even get to my Chanukah towels and draydels! Luckily, the real menorahs we use to light on the holiday are in the breakfront in the dining room. And I can reach that!

I'll find the electric menorah and get it up!

I have 15 more work days until my vacation. An afternoon on one is a department end of semester party and a half day on another is the staff holiday party. BUT I AM NOT COUNTING!!

I hope everyone is having a great day!! I started mine off with snow.....in North Texas!! It was crazy. While the boys were getting dressed, I check FB. A friend commented about it snowing on her daughter's birthday. While I was double checking where she lived, my sister texted me that it was snowing.

Our kitten has shown no interest whatsoever in the tree which is great. Even the big cats don't really bother it, but they all love to lay underneath it. That doesn't bother me though. We decorated the tree yesterday and so far so good! None of the cats have bothered with any of the ornaments. We did leave the bottom branches a little empty though, just in case!

I am now about 90-95% done with my Christmas shopping!!! I did a good amount of shopping today and now I just need a few small things for Madison's teachers (Irish dancing and school) and something for our family gift exchange. I'm so impressed with myself! I even bought all of my wrapping paper today too. Tomorrow we're getting a new furnace and hot water tank (which means I can't go anywhere) so I'll probably be able to get all of my Christmas cards done!!!! Hooray for a more relaxed December this year.

ONE MORE SLEEP UNTIL WE HIT THE ROAD TO MICKEY!!!

Not that I've actually been sleeping! I have been awake half the night for the last two nights. I can't shut my brain off. So I'm hitting the caffeine and sugar today to make it through work!
I've got almost everything packed, one load of left to do tonight, clean sheets on the beds, just have to tidy up the "stuff" around the house so my cleaning lady can actually see the carpet and countertops!! Whew!
I hope to check in once in a while - probably from the car (it's a long ride, and I love my iPhone!). It's supposed to get pretty cold here starting tonight, so we will be happy to get out of here.

OOHHHH Sheree! I know ya'll are just jumpin outta your skins!!! At least they have a fun field trip to look forward to..well one of them anyway!! I don't know how you are working! ha!!! I am staying on here this morning because I feel jittery. trying to calm down a bit and focus on what we need to get done today and tomorrow....if I get too amped up I know I will bring on a headache. Do any of ya'll have that? I think my adreneline is toooo much for me and I always get a headache when I get super amped about stuff like this...maybe I should take a Tylenol now just to ward it off

Well, since there aren't any Chanukah movies . . . my favorite (and the only one I own) is White Christmas. Love Danny Kaye, and the music. I always get a kick out the fact that the best-selling Christmas song ever was written by a little Jewish kid. (Also the best-selling Easter song - Easter Parade.)

And the only two animated specials I'll watch are the original Grinch (gotta love Boris Karloff) and Charlie Brown.

One of the family in front of the castle, one of mom and dad in MK and then one of the "kids" from EPCOT, while we are are holding beer. So the joke is that the only way to get a nice picture of us is while we are drinking.

Thank you! I can barely breathe I'm so excited. It's always hard to believe that it's actually time!! We booked this trip in the spring and poof! Here it is! I will probably stop in on the boards tomorrow because I will have some time at work while I'm sitting at a computer waiting for others to do things. Of course, I'll be wishing I was already on the road! Paige came in our room at about 5:30 this morning and said, "Mommy it's only one more day til we leave!!" (I know I posted this somewhere else today too! Sorry if I'm repeating!)

My favorite Christmas movies/shows are Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, Grinch, Charlie Brown and It's a Wonderful Life. I still like some of the old classic ones like Rudolph and Year Without a Santa Clause, Santa Clause is Coming to Town and all that too. I guess I don't have favorites, I love them ALL!

Thanks, I need it. Going back to work has been tough, physically, and it wears me out, emotionally. I went home and just sobbed and sobbed last night. I'm always so exhausted after work that I can't do anything. I want to do something FUN. My DH didn't realize how much he'd been nagging me to do more on my own and he knows how hard it is for me. I cried, he loaned me his shoulder, then I took a nap. I'm feeling better today, but I'm sure I'll be totally worn out once I get home.

On the upside, this will go away as I heal. But for now, it's making my holiday season a total bummer.

I totally loved it!!! It makes the world look so much more magical for everything to be covered in snow. My boys kept insisting that they shouldn't have to go to school b/c it was snowing. We didn't get much, but it was pretty while it lasted. To "celebrate" the snow DH took me to Starbucks and we both got Gingerbread Lattes. The girl making it must have been new. It wasn't bad, just not up to the normal greatness of that Starbucks. We are "supposed" to be getting more snow on Friday. I think it's only about a 20% chance so I'm not counting on it. I've been told that this is going to be a wet winter and we should get more snow that normal. Now if it will only snow on Christmas Day, and I'll be happier than if I had been given free WDW AP's.

My all time favorite would White Christmas. Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, what's not to love. A newer favorite would be the Polar Express. The book is one of my all time fav children's books that I read every year to my boys. Every year I can't make it through the last page without crying. I have a couple others that I have to watch every Christmas. Love Actually, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Charlie Brown Christmas.

I'm actually into the "newer" movies. I love The Santa Clause (with Tim Allen), it's something that I watch all the time during this time of year. I also love Polar Express.

My faves are The Christmas Story - the red ryder BB gun! I will never stick my tongue to a flag pole because of that Movie! The Santa Clause and Elf with Will Ferrel!


Sorry I havrn't been around much my Snowbird peeps! Life has been way too crazy these last couple weeks! I am barely keeping up with all the important stuff, never mind DISing!

Sheree and Shawna, my gosh, those trips snuck up so quickly! Sheree, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you all travel on the way to WDW! Drive safe, my friend!
