Hello Snowbirds..... sounds like everyone else is as busy as I am...

I leave for Disney in 2 days... and I have yet to get my suitcase out.... I think I will have time tonight.... DS passed his road test on Tuesday and is taking my car to golf practice tonight so I will be stuck here... good time to get packing done... laundry is going right now...

Plus I want to clean the house and make a few meals to put in the frig for the boys for while I am gone... they are perfectly fine at making cereal...and toast... but not so much at a nice dinner... I made some lasgna and froze individual packages for them already. Today I think I will do a meatloaf and a cheeseburger pie... they love them both....

Work has been very busy... it seems that it always is when I am trying to get out of town... thats okay... keeps me from going stir crazy about how much longer I have...

well back to work... have to create a flyer for the varsity golf team banquet and get it in the mail today!!!

Have a great trip!!
I'm already worried about my DS's learning to drive and they are only 10 & 11. Actually I've been dreading it since they were born. I'm sure it won't be as bad as I think it's going to be. Actually I get to start driving around with my brother in law sometime soon to help him get ready for his driver's test. I still don't understand how he grew up in rural AR, yet never got his license.

We had a great night last night. I had order a lemon meringue pie and since we were going to have to pick it up, DH took us out to dinner. We went to a place called Babe's chicken. You have your choice of fried chicken or chicken fried steak. I don't know how big the chicken fried steak is, but with the fried chicken each person gets a breast, leg, thigh, wing. You get all you can eat mashed potatoes with gravy and creamed corn (but not like from a can creamed corn, this stuff is good), and homemade bisquits, like my mom used to make. Before they bring any of that out, they give you salad and chilled bowls for it. However the dressing is kinda sweet and I can only eat very little of it. It is served family style. The pie shop is right next door to Babe's so when we were done, we went to pick it up. Well she hadn't gotten her order of flower yet and she was totally out, so the pie wasn't made yet. I told her it was ok, that I would pick it up today. While the DS's were picking out some fudge for themselves, DH noticed she had almost a whole pecan pie. We bought that and then are going back today to pick up the lemon meringue. Her pies are just amazing!! The meringue on one of her meringue pies is like 4 inches high.
OMG have you ladies seen the new Dooney & Burke Disney bags? They are so freaking cute!! As soon as I get my money back from school, DH said I can get one. I can't wait!! I'll have to find the Disney Merchandising number to buy one though.

So I just found out that the 4th graders go to sleep away camp February 8-10th, and not in May like I thought. It's good in a way b/c we could get the deal they have out now, but I'm not sure about going then. Anyone else been that time of year?

Me too!! Our family always referred to the cough we (me &my bro) had as a bark..Mom used to say we sounded like little seals barking...once we got going we couldn't quit. Sometimes it was funny, but sometimes we would cough until we thought we were gonna pass out or throw up. Gross, I know, but it really got severe...then in High School they diagnosed me with asthma...had to get an inhaler and everything. I think my lungs were just worn out from staying sick year round. I grew out of the Asthma stuff when I got older...I think moving out of the country helped too...I was allergic to EVERYTHING around us.Bronchitis /walking pneumonia...had stuff like that all the time....seemed like I would finish one round of antibiotics and about a month or so later and i would be right back on it!!!!

Our poor DS gets that barky cough quite often! We've been fortunate lately that it hasn't developed into full-blown croup the last couple of times. He spent time in the hospital when he was little the first time he had it, and we've made many a trip to the ER in the middle of the night! YUCK!

So I have been going back and forth trying to decide whether to cancel my upcoming trip because it will be cold and flu season, not to mention stomach flu season (I know all of these can strike all year-it just seems so much more common in the winter months) I'm looking into trip insurance and whatnot, but I just ordered the dooney and bourke wdw parks wristlet and it will be here next week, so I guess I have to go now!! :goodvibes I have a new wristlet all ready for the trip.

We've been at the end of Jan/first part of Feb. Pretty nice crowd wise, but can get cold. We had a mix both times. Also at the end of Feb it did that. Pack layers. If it's not around a holiday weekend (and I don't think that is), crowds should be good.

Do you have a link or picture to the D&B wristlet? I'd love to see it.

Grats on getting the wristlet. I wonder if my iPhone would fit into it. If it would I would love to get the big tote and the wristlet.

Thanks! I don't think the iphone would fit... but I don't have an iphone either. I have some dooney wristlets and they fit a decent amount but I think the iphone might be too long.

Oh, I looove the D&B purse!!! How cute is that?! So, can you only get it at DTD? gotta check that out! I am tuning off for the night...gotta watch Snow White!!!!:cheer2:

I know... I am worried about him.... he seems to do fine... DD is a bad driver... she just doesn't think sometimes.... I don't know when he grew up so fast... my baby is now 6 ft tall.... I guess you never stop worrying about them....

Way to go, Wendy! :thumbsup2 I know you were making the non-procrastinators here nervous....but I knew you'd be fine. ;) Have a GREAT trip! :cool1::cool1:

So we have a vacation coming up in...three weeks! A western Mediterranean cruise, and I'm sure it's going to be fabulous. I have a ton of preparation to do, like making plans for all of our days in port (we're not doing any cruise line shore excursions)...but instead I keep DISing! :rolleyes1 I've mentioned Disneyland Paris to the family a few times, great deals going on right now, kids and food free, have to book by mid-November--they are mildly interested, but I haven't gotten DH to go ahead and say "book it!" yet. Maybe I should put it out of my mind for now and make a concentrated effort the week we get back from the cruise. This will mainly involve calculating how much money we will save by booking the current deal :teacher: and selling it to DH. :thumbsup2

Wendy!!! I am so glad!! I dreamed about a week ago that we were all sitting around in PJs and I looked at the clock and it was after 1...our flight outta Houston was at 3 and we hadn't even packed...I was freaking out!!!!:scared1:

Pluto fan~ Your cruise sounds fantastic!!!!
Well,,,we were going to book our flights Wed night because the price dropped to my happy range......dh has to be here because they(for WHATEVER reason) never put me on our rewards program.---even though he has called about 5 times!!!!!! Anyway..after church-totally forgot it,....then yesterday they went back up $45 a ticket!!!! OOOHHHHHHH this price jumping!!!!!

:banana:Have a great trip!! Honestly, I would be flipping out about the Magical Express too, but that's just b/c I'm OCD that way. I think that's why I like to buy stuff through out the year before our trip and pack it as I buy it. The week before the trip, I like to be checking and double checking the "things packed in this bag" lists and cross checking it with the "things I want to take" list to make sure I don't forget anything. My brother in law gave me that tip too, but he learned it in the Army. Also, I sometime roll outfits for the kids. So if I am taking them basketball type mesh shorts instead of rolling the shirt and shorts indivdually, I just roll them together. Then the boys can grab just the one roll, and have their short and t-shirt both.

It seemed when I was growing up that it was taking forever. My DS's on the other hand, must have been sprinkled with some super fast grow at birth b/c it seems like they were just born. My 11 yr old DS was 4 lbs at birth. Now he is 5'2" - 5'4"-ish (taller than my sister), and can wear a 10 - 10 1/2 men's shoe.

Your cruise sounds like it would be so much fun!!! My DS's want to go on a cruise, but I have this phobia of deep water. The thought of being on a boat (no matter how big) in that deep of water really freaks me out. On our honeymoon, my DH and I went to Sea World in San Antonio, TX. He wanted to take a picture of me next to Shamu's tank before the show started. I walked up to the tank, looked down at how deep the water was, and almost passed out. I started getting that cotton in the ear muffeled hearing and dizzy. My DH said I turned as white as a ghost. Hopefully, you can get the family on board with a Disneyland Paris trip. I would love to visit all the parks at least once before I die.

Hopefully the lady I want to make my sister's birthday cake will call me back today since I have to pick up the cake next Friday. My sister is obsessed with the cakewrecks blog, so we are going to get her a cake that looks like it belongs on it. The fondant is going to be a chocolate brown. Then have pea/army green and burnt orange circle fondant peices all over it. Surrounding each of the circles will be little dots of bright pink. Then on the top in print (not cursive) it will say "on top write Happy 42nd Birthday Cassie in cursive". She'll only be 32 and her name is spelled Kassi. Her hubby and I have been texting about it and we think she'll love it.
Well ladies have a great morning. It's cold, dark, and rainy outside. The day is just saying "go back to bed" to me and I am going to listen.

Kim~ That is soooo funny about the cake! I too think she will enjoy it!!
As far as the deep water thing ,my older son has it!! I kinda do.. but not sooo much. We did take a cruise out of Galveston and I loved it.... I didn't dwell on the thought of the deep water though!!! My son didn't like it. He also hates the beach!! Of course, he got that from me as well!! For those of you not familiar with our beaches...let me fill you in.Once you are west of the Mississippi...forget it!! It's not white sand and sparkling pretty water, like you get once you are in somewhere like Destin, Florida. OH no!!! The sand is blah..the water is a murky, dark. You usually can't see your feet once your in past your ankles. It's pretty disgusting...and for some reason, it always has a rotten fish smell:confused3 I loved when we went on our cruise and we went to the beach in Cozumel. It was really something to see...for us anyway!!! But, My older son was nearly in tears the whole time... he reallys hates open water. Now...something else I hate....lakes. I know...weird!!! Here's what happened.. I have been around lakes growing up...when ds10 was tiny, we had a camper and jet skis...well, I could ride that jet ski all day long... but if I started thinking about it...I would feel a total panic come over me. And of course i would have to beat it back to shore and ditch that thing for a while. I just always had this creepy feeling that something HUGE was right underneath me. It totally freaks me out. And just to let you know,...I have NEVER watched Jaws...just the previews scare me to death. So...it ain't the movie!!! I kinda felt like (when I was out on the lake) something tremendous was down there...kinda like a Lock Ness Monster. I know it sounds realllllly crazy, but I could just see it in my mind clear as a bell. FREAKED ME OUT!!!!! So... I didn't tell my son, but he told me the same thing later...just that when he was out there, he thought something reaaaallllly big was under the water and it was gonna come out. Mental telepathy with us 2!!!! HA!!!!!
corny as all that is, I still want to do a Disney Cruise. DS13 told me last week there was NO way he thought he could do it...exact words :"Mamma, you KNOW I have that thing about open water!!!" Poor kid!!! And geez,,,he can swim like a fish!!!!! Oh well...I guess we all have quirks!!!!!

Oh, Kim..can you send that rain down here? We are waiting on it to bring us some cooler weather!!! It's starting to get a little cloudy, but it was already 82degrees by 8:00 this morning!! I need some fall weather!!!!

Yeah, lakes bother me too. Any body of water with deep water, especially if I can't see what's in it with me. Actually even deep ends of pools bother me. If I'm in them for more than a few moments, I get this irrational fear that a shark or killer whale is going to eat me. Then the panic attack starts, and I have to get out. I used to not have this fear. I wasn't until I saw the movie Orca as a child. I think part of the thing that freaked me out so about the Shamu tank is that one of the whale was swimming around in the bottom, combined with the deep water. Stuffed Orcas don't bother me, they are cute. However the real ones freak me out. A friend posted a video on FB of a penguin hitching a ride in a small boat to get away from killer whales chasing it. The boat looked like a blow up safety raft. Just the thought of being in that tiny boat, with killer whales that close and going under the boat freaked me out. They were going right under the boat.

Sure, I can share. There is deff enough rain in these clouds to pass around.

Kim, I was that penguin video too...made me feel kinda weird!!! I kept thinking they were going to turn the boat over to get the little penguin. And...he kept teetering over that edge...I thought, get him IN the boat...not just on the ledge!!!!! GEEZ!!!!

Okay, it got realllly cloudy about 10 min ago,,,then the sun came waaay out...now it's dark again!!!!! Maybe it's reaaalllly gonna rain this time!!!!

I know, I thought they were going to turn it over too. Although by the end, I was like throw the pengiun to the whales, and I love penguins. Penguins are one of my favorite animals. I was just so panicy about the boat turning over.
