Hey snowbirds!
Ooh, I love the Disney D&B bag!! I'm sure it's really inexpensive right? ;)

We finally got rid of the rain, so everyone was out mowing last night! Of course we are told it will be a hard freeze this weekend and possibly the "S" word. SNOW!!! Man, it's only the middle of October! Even for here, that's pretty early. It won't last though.

I'm heading to a crafter's cottage today for a scrapbooking weekend. Hopefully I can get a lot done on the girls' books. I'm only up to 2004!! It sure is fun to look at their pictures though and see how little and cute they were!
Have to go pack my stuff (I procrastinate if it's not Disney-related!)

Have a great weekend everyone!!

They're talking snow on Sunday in Chicago...which is the day of the marathon! Two years ago, they had to call off the marathon, after they started it, because of extreme heat. What a change!!

Gotta love the midwest!

I'm past all my REALLY stressful work stuff. Today is the deadline for faculty to give me paperwork for reimbursements. It's also a Friday and very few of them come in (...and it's raining and cold), so i've probably gotten all the receipts that I'm going to get. I gave my talk last night which didn't go super-well, but it went well enough. The grad students were randomly aggressive (but not in a mean way, if that makes sense - it did to our grad student coordinator) but I got the information imparted to their heads.

Now it's a matter of getting new sneakers (hee!), buying supplies/groceries, and clenaing the house before my surgery on... Tuesday! WHOA! We're almost there!!

Oh, Kim..can you send that rain down here? We are waiting on it to bring us some cooler weather!!! It's starting to get a little cloudy, but it was already 82degrees by 8:00 this morning!! I need some fall weather!!!!

Shawna, I was just going to say that you are begging for rain while we up here in the North are already sitting at obscene temps and being threatened with SNOW!!! :scared1: Sheree beat me to it though! :lmao:

Here is a link to our local weather forecast for the next week! Maybe it'll help you feel a bit cooler ;) Sorry it is in Metric :upsidedow

Wow! Good luck with the surgery, Sarah! (Although I'm sure we'll "see" you around here before then!)

All you lucky ladies and the talk of snow has me totally jealous. The lack of snow is the only thing I don't like about living in Texas. When we do get it, practically everything shuts down. I would love just one year to wake up Christmas morning to it snowing. Oh well, I gues we'll just have to take a family Christmas vacation somewhere there is snow.

Thanks, ladies!

One of our work studies stopped by and said bye, on his way out, and I said "Have a great weekend! See you in November!" and he dropped everything and gave me a hug. There are NOT a lot of 18 year olds who do that - his mama had best be proud of him!

And, snykymom, I'll probably be here until I'm en route to the hospital! ;)

OMG..... THE WHITE CRAP IS COMING DOWN OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!:sad2:
I hate winter!!!!!!!

So how's everyone else doing?!?! Happy Saturday.:flower3:

Send it down here!!! I would love some snow. Maybe if we had some, I could have stayed in bed instead of going to English class.

Sounds like typical Texas weather. I can remember on Friday my senior year (1994), in the morning we were all wearing shorts and t-shirts. By football game that night, it was snowing. It's going to be in the 60's today and then by Tuesday we'll be in the 80's.

Well have a good afternoon ladies. I guess since I'm paying for it, I should actually pay attention to the English class I'm sitting in.

Actually I'm working on school work here. :lmao: We have to do a presentation next week and we just got our topic. It's a "How to". I am doing mine on "How to plan a Disney World trip". If anyone has any really good planning tips that you think no one else knows either PM me or put them here.

It's been exactly at freezing all day today. Apparently it's supposed to warm up for us here next week, which is nice, because I totally wasn't ready for winter yet. First we skipped spring this year, and now we have seemed to skip fall, which are my two favorite seasons.
As far as Disney goes for us, we're seriously considering canceling our trip. We probably really need to spend some time visiting family this year, and I really don't want to invite them to come on the trip with us. We have until the end of the month before our whole balance is due, so we'll make our decision by then.

I don't really want to cancel the trip, but I don't feel like explaining to ailing grandparent's why we're going again. They don't understand Disney World enough as it is, also I'd feel guilty not visiting them instead.

I have started thinking about taking my little sister as a graduation present in a couple years though...:rolleyes1

Wow...snow! Not to rub it in, but it was a high of 90 earlier today here in Charleston. I would actually love it to snow. Would you believe that I've never actually seen it? I've seen snow flurries, but not the kind that really stick and then build up. As a child, I always wanted to have a snowball fight and make snowangels. :sad2:

It's snowing here too! :goodvibes

Well, we told the girls today! :cool1: To say they were excited would be a bit of an overstatement!;) They were excited, actually wanted to start planning right away, but there was no jumping around or screaming! :confused3 It took most of the afternoon to nail them down about ADRs, but here is what we finally decided on - including a surprise!

SciFi lunch
'Ohana breakfast
Boatwrights supper (we're staying @ POFQ)
Biergarten (DH's #1 choice)
Le Cellier (MY #1 choice)

AND the surprise of the day......

Cinderella's Royal Table for SUPPER!!! :woohoo:

They REALLY surprised me with that one! I thought they wouldn't want to eat there again! We did the Princess breakfast last Jan and they liked it but apparently more than I thought they did! :confused3They initially requested breakfast again, but once I told them about Fairy Godmother and the Mice, they were ALL OVER THAT!! DH is uber excited cause it's going to be on our last night right before Wishes!

What a Magical way to END our Vacation! :wizard: Now I just have to snag that ADR! ;)

Sounds like you guys picked some great spots. Your DH's fav is also my DH fav (and mine so far). We like to pace ourselves and spend a couple of hours jsut relaxing and "hen pecking" at the buffet.

I'm torn between getting an ADR for CRT for breakfast or dinner. The lamb dish they have for dinner sounds so good, but I would love to have an early morning breakfast there. I guess we could always do an earling morning ADR at CP and then dinner at CRT.

SNOW.... yikes... no thank you

SARAH... good luck on your surgery

Snowbirds.... I am off to the airport in 10 hours... hopefully I will be able to sleep... the only thing I forgot to bring was my camera... but my sister has hers....

Have a great weekkk.... Here I come MICKEY!!!!!

Hey all!

I hope yall are having a better weekend than I am.

We are starting to do some research about relocating to Florida. I've never lived away from my grandma and family but I think its about time to spread my wings a little bit. It feels "right." So this is kind of fun.... but here comes the yucky part of the weekend...

Work has been crazy, then I had to write an email update to send to our customers, and instead of "kinds of apples" I wrote "kids of apples" and "last but not least" came out "last but least"-well my proofreader didn't catch it either and some customer wrote a really rude email back about how we need a proofreader and we are "wrong!!!!" Wow, that was a little much. We are all human, we all make mistakes! She could have been much less rude.

Then to top it off I had to try on my matron of honor dress. The dress=disaster. It's really bad for my body type, and the bride said she was trying to think of me when picking it since I have body image issues and she wanted me her matron of honor to feel comfotable-then when I tried it on she goes "well it doesn't look bad enough to change dresses so we are keeping it" Even my DH, said it is very unflattering (he did so gently.) BUT, it is her wedding and my duty to be a good bridesmaid and just suck it up and wear it. I just feel hurt that she made a big deal that it was important to her that we all like and feel comfortable in the dress, and then when I said I do not feel comfortable she blew it off.

Thanks for letting me vent!! It feels a little better just to get that off of my chest.

I did have a good night tonight though! DH took me on a "date" We went out to dinner at the first restaurant that he ever took me to dinner at and we had a nice evening. :goodvibes

We started to talk about some plans for the upcoming trip, he kind of wants to try Shula's or primetime cafe, so we might think of doing one of those instead of cooking dinner in the room one night.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

acejka~ YIKES!!! Sorry that happened!!! I think it's sweet of you to just grin and bear it, though!!! (About the dress) and...sorry your customer was such a jerk and didn't cut you any slack!!!!

Wendy!!!! HHOOOOORRRRRAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!! Have a blast and be careful!!! check in when you get back!!!
