Happy bday to DS7! Lucky boy gets to celebrate for 2 weekends! Of course he picked the pizza buffet place :lmao: My DS wanted to take me to McD's for my birthday. Good luck with the rain holding off Sunday!

We always tell our DS6 when it's his turn to pick the restaurant that it has to be a place where we can sit down and order off a menu! :lmao: He'd pick McD's every time if we'd let him!

Morning Snowbirds!

:woohoo: It's FRIDAY!!! :cool1:

Don't know about everyone else but it's been a busy week at my house. DS is home sick...AGAIN!!!! I'm so tired of runny noses, croupy coughs, and fevers. It's only the beginning of October! We're supposed to go to Hershey Park tomorrow but we'll see. As long as no one has a fever we'll go.

What's on everyone's agenda for the weekend?

I'm sorry your DS is sick again. Hopefully he will be feeling better tonight. i would love to go to Hershey someday. My in laws made it sound like so much fun. Well I may go Halloween costume shopping with my DS's and my sister tonight, but not sure. Tomorrow between 1-5, I have English class. Then on Sunday I may go to my sister's house to watch WE with her and make fun of all the crazy Bridezilla's and the men dumb enough to marry them. Followed by watching David Tutera's My Fair Wedding. Then the rest of the weekend I plan on playing tons of Aion with David. Other than the costume shopping, it's pretty much the same old same old.
Hope everyone feels better at your house so you can go to Hershey! How far are you from there? We should meet up next time we take a trip out that way!

Weekend plans? Well tomorrow is DS7's birthday. We already had his party last weekend because that was the only day we could get the pool. But tomorrow night we will go out to dinner - his choice. He picked the pizza buffet place. And he wants to go to the Game Stop and spend some of his birthday money!

Then we will probably have a few soccer games in the rain Sunday!

Happy early birthday to your DS!!!

We're about 70 miles/an hour and a half away from Hershey. This trip was a last minute one so I'm hoping we can go. A friend of my sister is having their work day at Hershey and they had extra tickets. Can't pass up $25 tickets to Hershey! We go a couple times every year so maybe we could meet next time!

I think we have the opposite problem with our DS. Usually if we let the boys pick, we give them a price range first. If we don't they want to eat at Salt Grass Steakhouse everytime. Which for our family can easily be close to $100 for the meal. Eventhough they do love the steaks there, that's not why they want to eat there. They love their bake potato soup, and my oldest DS also loves the sauted mushrooms that I order with my steak. I'm really going to have to find the recipe online somewhere. So, if we are just planning on grabbing something quick through a drive-thru, and they are picking, we have to make sure to say "pick any fast food place." Otherwise they will want Salt Grass.

HEY SNOWBUDDIES!!! :goodvibes

I have an assignment/challenge for y'all! :) Plan my AK day! Here are the details -

we will be there at RD and want to leave BEFORE the parade starts! :rolleyes1

Here is our list of must do's -

EE (for DH, not sure yet if I will try or not)
Triceratops Spin (was closed last year :sad1:)
Primevil Whirl (will get swap for DD6 if we have to)
Flights of wonder
Maharajah Trail (started but didn't finish last time)
Conservation Station /Rafiki's Planet Watch
Lion King Show (LOVED IT - want to see it again)
Lunch @ Flame Tree
Kilimanjaro Safari

This is the one park that gives me a headache! :headache: I had such great expectations for it and left feeling slightly disappointed! I felt like all we did was walk around looking for stuff to do! DD6 was either too small or too scared to ride most stuff. It is very pretty and exotic but honestly not my fave! If it weren't for DH wanting to ride EE so badly, I would just skip it all together!

Thanks for your input!

We are about 4 hours from Hershey. I forgot you were so close. We were just there in August. We only went for the day though and didn't even make it to the park. Just a quicky trip! It was fun though!

Tomorrow I will have to refer to DS as DS8. :sad1:

Boy I hope this doesn't mean I am getting old!! :rotfl:
We're close to the PA line which is nice! We usually make 2-3 Hershey trips a year. I won't even mention how nice it is to be 45 minutes from those outlets in Lancaster :thumbsup2 I'm planning on hitting the Disney Store outlet sometime next month with my mom
I woke up this morning and my parents' house was empty. I haven't been in this house when it was empty since I was in high school. My sister left yesterday with my nephew to go home, my Dad has business in Atlanta so he went with them. That was nice for my sister, because it means she can put the baby with him for at least part of the flight.
My youngest brother and sister already went to school yesterday and Wednesday, but my Mom had to start "work" today. She's doing her practicum for her Special Education master's classes, so she's not getting paid, but she's going to be in the classroom until December.

I'm here to help her, so I guess I should get started on that.
Logan's with his parents this weekend, since he has a long one, so at least I know he's getting taken care of.
Wow I bet that is weird. Good for your mom! It will be hard work but well worth it in the end.

I don't mind if he wants to pick McD's for HIS birthday but this was for mine!

I'm of no help. We're thinking of skipping AK this time around or just spending a few hours there. They just don't have much beyond the dinosaur section and the Kilimanjaro Safari for us. The only reason I want to go back to it this time is to try the picnic in the park lunch :lmao:

It is raining here AGAIN! I have an appearance tonight with another dance team member and it better stop raining by then. October is a very busy month for me. I have something to do every single weekend! Tomorrow, I have to teach ballet at 9am but then I have a women's event at church in the evening. I'm really looking forward to it!

We're Going to See Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3D

We're all very excited and think it will make us a bit more disnefied!

Hi everyone,

I tried to start chatting the other day then got sidetracked with work, now I've been down and out for 2 days with either food posioning or the stomach flu. It's finally easing up thank God. I'm betting on food posioning based on how different it was than any other gastro virus I've picked up before.

What is everyone doing this weekend??

I'm going to continue resting and recovering, do some homework and gear up for another week... It should have been work, church, movies, homework, chores and football. I am going to rest as much as possible though. Let my body do its thing.

Oh Dear! :eek:Poor You! Hope you feel all better really soon! :goodvibes Take it easy and REST REST REST!!!! :)

Kim~I will just tell you what we do for AK. We are not setting it in stone this trip either!! It is just not our favorite place. We usually get over there around 10....Mike and DS13 ride or get FP for EE....while they do that, me, dd and ds10 go to the Flights of Wonder show. Then we head to the boneyard....let the kids ride the dino-rama stuff....watch the jugglers...eat lunch and try to do a safari ride if the line isn't crazy. They said they didn't even want to ride EE this time...so I guess I won't know if we are going over there until mid-trip. If they change their minds.
We are going to go to a football game tonight...its homecoming and Mikes class reunion......my mom may come in tomorrow...if so....we'll entertain her! If not, we'll just hang around-it's suppose to rain all day...but it's gorgeous today...so I don't know if the rain is gone or what. Then Sunday is church!! Time to Worship! We finally joined our new church...you might remember in May we left our home church we had been at forever. We really love this new place! AWESOME Youth Group!! All of it's awesome really! We are so blessed!!!
Well, have a good one!!! talk to ya'll soon!!!!!!

AK is my 2nd favorite park.

Well, you'll have to get a show guide for the park and see what times Lion King (I can't remember if Flights of Wonder is on there or not) is playing. We usually head towards Everest first. You could check to see what time the FastPass would be good for, then hit up Primeval Whirl and Triceratops Spin.

After having the "time" information, you should be able to hit up everything else.

I should also add in, that whenever we do parks, we never plan things that in-depth. We get to the parks and decide what to do from there. I think it helps to feel less disappointed with the outcome of the day.

*We've also, a few times, sent someone to get all the fastpasses for EE, then met at the Safari and worked our way back through the park.

Weekend plans? We've got a 9am soccer game in the morning. Brrrrrrrr!!! Then we may head up and get Drew's Tiger Cub uniform. Although I was looking online and think it's going to cost me about $80 for all the crap they need! This is an expensive activity!!

Sunday we may head to the zoo! St Louis has an incredible zoo and it's free, other than parking, but if we get there early enough, we can easily find a place in Forest Park to park for free! So we'll pack a lunch and have a cheap family day out!

Guess I better start cleaning so I don't have to worry about it the rest of the weekend!

BTW~has anyone heard from Soleil? Her PTR is gone and I haven't seen anything on any of our threads???

I hope everyone is healthy enough to go!! I do love HersheyPark!

:goodvibes :goodvibes

This weekend, well... we came home and went "whoa, nice to be sleeping in our bed this weekend!" Tomorrow, DH is going to go see Zombieland with some friends. I'll probably go out to lunch with them, then go get a hair cut (ooh. ahh.) so I don't have to think about that for awhile. Then! College hockey season starts tomorrow night and we ARE season ticket holders!

On Sunday, DH has a half marathon but I think I'm going to send him solo and sleep in... then there's an afternoon hockey game.

Plus the usual groceries/laundry/house cleaning stuff!

Gosh, that's pretty boring. But given I went to a concert, then Disney, then a wedding in three straight weekends, I'm okay with boring!

BTW~has anyone heard from Soleil? Her PTR is gone and I haven't seen anything on any of our threads???

I was thinking of her today too! Went looking for her PTR and it is completely gone! :confused3 I hope everything is all right! :confused3 Maybe their new home expenses were more and they had to cancel their trip? :confused3

Soleil - if you are lurking please let us know if you are all right! Miss you girl!

When I kept getting the message that it was an invalid thread and to contact the Administrator, I sent her a PM asking if she knew what the problem was. I never heard back from her, though. I also noticed that you can no longer link in to her Blog (Shopoholic & Snob) w/out a password. :confused3 I sure hope that everything is alright. My DH said it sounds like she might have had a stalker. Hopefully, it's nothing that horrible.

My weight is a little higher than I like, but people keep asking me if I've lost weight. :confused3 But going in to surgery, I don't really want my weight up. Blah blah blah...
On the plus side, in two weeks, I won't be worrying about it any more and I'll be on my way to recovery!!

The worst will be over soon and you will be up recovering and on your way to running around!!!!

Morning Snowbirds!

Ahhhhhh.. hope he is better soon.... it has been nothing but raining here the past week... DS had to play varsity golf three times this week in the pouring rain... if that isn't setting him up for being sick I don't know what is....so far so good though...

Hope your feeling better today... upset stomach is the worst...

Weekend plans? We've got a 9am soccer game in the morning. Brrrrrrrr!!!

I remember when DS played fall baseball .... they played when it was snowing... not hard when you live in upstate NY... it is a sure bet will have a least one snowfall by Halloween...

This weekends plans....
Well last night DH and I had the house to ourselves.... DS went to the homecoming dance and then spent the night at a friends...

Today... DS is going to the homecoming game
DH is off helping an elderly man who lives down the road split wood for the winter
Me... well its 10 am and I have been to the grocery store, done 2 loads of alundry, made some banana bread and have a batch of chex mix in the oven... later I have to do some work (the job kind)... mow the lawn and then I think I might get my suitcase out of the basement.... plant my bulbs... tidy up the flower beds....

Tomorrow.... I have to show a couple of houses... write an offer for a client and then I get to spend the afternoon with DD who is coming home from school for the day to pick up the grocery items she requested, some medication and to watch football!!!

Maggie~ girl!! you are busy today!! I am trying not to do anything!! Ha!!!!! I have been on the laptop since I got up!!! We went to DHs class reunion football game last night....so me and the kids slept WAY late today. You are gonna have so much fun next week!!!!
I hope Soleil is just soooo busy she hasn't had time to be here..i know she had a lot going on...maybe Jen can get ahold of her.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's raining here and I love the rain.
What did I do tonight? I tried to kill my entire family, not on purpose of course. So I get home from school and I am listening to Styx on my iPhone. I pull into the garage, shut it, get out of the car, got my stuff and went into the house. (notice what I missed yet?) Then at about 11- 11:20-ish I'm uber tired with a monster of a migraine, and David and Joey are complaining of a nasty smell. I couldn't smell anything. Well David went out and checked the garage, and sure enough I forgot to turn my car off and it had been running in a shut garage. Hopefully my car is fine, but if they hadn't noticed the smell. John and I were about to go to bedroom and watch a movie. Which was a good thing that I didn't b/c my bedroom is right near the garage, or at least it shares one wall. Anyway, as my father in law said luckily I lived long enough to make the mistake again, but it's one I won't repeat.
