Tell him it would really make your knee feel better if you had (insert your favorite cupcake flavor here). The last time I bought yarn, I couldn't even get my DH to come into the store with me.

It helps that the yarn store is next to a running store! He needed Gu (concentrated edible energy giving food stuff) so, you know, he was right there... and the store would be closed by the time I was out of physical therapy! ;)

But no cupcakes, sadly. But, as the mantra goes "there will be more and it's not the last one on earth." (That's the question I ask myself when I look at treats to decide if I have to have it!)

Sooo now there's an actual action plan to get me walking again! :scared1:
This weekend, I'm supposed to go ~100 feet without crutches - like around the house, out to the mailbox (assuming it's dry and stuff) - but use crutches for longer distances (shopping!). I have another physical therapy appointment on Tuesday. If all has gone well with the 100 feet suggestion, then we'll move up to about 500 yards. By the following week, the intent is to be completely crutchless (no cane, either)! Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wizard:Here's a little bit of Pixie Dust to help you along!!:wizard:

YOU CAN DO IT!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust pixiedust:

I was watching Man vs Food yesterday and he had something called a Sonoran dog. I am going to make something like it for dinner tonight. You take a hot dog weenie and wrap it in bacon before grilling it. Then once it's on the bun we'll smother it in chili, onion, and cheese. Well I'm off to the store, have a great night all.

Hey Snowbirds. Checking in from WDW. Weather is gorgeous but the crowds are not. We couldn't believe how packed the Magic Kingdom was today. Totally ridiculous. Good thng that we weren't doing things commando style. Didn't get a ton accomplished but hit the highlights.

So glad that we will never again have to go to Disney with a 10 week old baby LOL. It's a lot of work. Maybe it's just that Chase is a high maintenance baby. Don't get me wrong. We're having a great time but you definitely have to approach things differently.

Woohoo! :dance3::dance3:

1. Yes, I'm that short.
2. Yes, the cat is also that big.
3. I was getting ready to go work out, so I was dressed goofy and I wasn't wearing my brace (which offers a ton of support)
4. It's my right leg, so yes, it is oddly deformed at the moment. :)

To celebrate, I made DH take me shopping. ;) We got him new sneakers, I got a dress for my cruise in June, and we got new towels. I used one crutch (because it was more than 100 feet) for about 90% of the shopping trip, too!

CONGRATS!!! :cheer2:

Mindy~ Sorry you have crazy crowds!! That is always so disappointing..but it is Saturday, so that may contribute! Hopefully the next few days will dwindle a lot!!!

Sarah...that cat is HUGE!!!! how funny!!! Yeah for you to get to shop!!!!

Sarah - that is one huge cat!! My youngest son (John) saw the pic of it and he said, "wow she's lucky to have a great cat like that." To say he loves cats is an understatement.

Hey everyone! I'm supposed to meet up with Northern Disney Girl (Kim) this afternoon at the Mall of America
My kids are sick and I wanted to let her know so she can decide if she wants me to come by myself or just keep away from the germs that I might transport. But I don't have a number for her - she's on the road now! I would hate to have her standing around wondering where we are! I gave her my numbers, but didn't get one for her.

Anyone have a cell # for her??? PM me if you do!

Thanks!

Good morning everyone! I've once again been away from the Dis all weekend and don't have a lot of time to catch up with everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Sheree-I hope you were able to meet up with Kim!

:cheer2: Go Sarah Go! :cheer2:
Hope you're totally crutch-free SOON!
Wow, that is quite a cat! :)

Sheree--hope you got ahold of Kim--did y'all meet up?

OK, I just got caught up on Kim's PTR. Sheree, I'm glad you got to meet up with her! What cute pictures!

I seem to be following Meghan around the boards--she keeps posting to the threads as I am reading them! :surfweb:

Hahaha! :rotfl: That is so funny! I guess we're both making our rounds right now!

Good morning Snowbirds!!! Busy week here.... work wise I have a couple of houses to get on the market.... DS turns 17 this Friday.... can't believe my baby is going to be 17... he is having a party on Saturday night.....so I will have about 30 teenagers here.... yikes!!! I am thinking to put a pingpong table in one room... the air hockey table in another and the XBOX360 in another... keeping the food in the kitchen... pizza, wings, cupcakes... I really want to keep them all on one level.... any other suggestions for a group this age would be appreciated...

uummm...20 Adults to help keep up with and feed them!!! Ha!!! Happy Birthday to your baby boy! Isn't it crazy how fast they grow up?! Real estate question...not to get into anyones personal details, but since we are in the housing business...what do houses go for (per square foot) in your state/area? We have stayed pretty steady here over the last few years...our town is growing--even with the economy--we are right north of some pretty crummy schools with kids who have drug problems. Some are leaning toward the whole gang issue as well, so the parents that are moving here come for the school district. So...we have not really seen the crunch in our real estate that some of the other areas around the nation are dealing with. It depends, of course on the age of the house and which subdivision you are in, but around here, average is from $90-$108 a sq foot. A couple from California bought a house across the street from us in our old subdivision in that range and said the same house in California would be at least double that...probably more:scared1: WOW! Isn't that crazy!? I was just wondering if NY was in the same bracket as Cali, or more like ours.

Oh boy! 17! I have absolutely no suggestions for you, I'm sorry. Mine are much younger. Have a great time!

Still in Florida but away from my beloved Disney. Had a much better day at DHS yesterday. Crowds were managable. I'm looking forward to planning our next trip. I've learned a lot this trip, even though I've been to Disney many times. Never stay off property if you're trying to park hop (unless you drive your own car). Avoid MK on Saturday.

It took us forever to get to where we needed to be. We stayed at the Hilton DTD and thought we could work the buses to our advantage. It was always a multiple-bus experience. We've said it before and will stick to our guns from mow on: ONLy stay in the monorail resorts LOL. Totally worth the cost for us.

Mindy...with a baby definitely agree with the mono theory!! Either that, or at the yc/bc/bwi area where you are sooo close to Epcot and one quick bus ride to MK! It's nice to ride the boat with little ones too...(over to DHS)..they love a new distraction! Glad you did have a good time considering all the hassle!!!! I am soooooo ready to go back! ha!!! What's it been, 6weeks? That is usually when the withdrawal hits me!! poor Mike! Ha!!!
I told him yesterday at church (someone mentioned getting out of town for a few days ) that I needed a vacation:lmao: He said...yeah, we shoulda booked a bounce back! Ha!! I never thought he would have agreed so quick after a trip!!!! But, we do have some other places we are looking into....he has Knee Surgery Friday, so we will talk more seriously after we see how that goes...don't foresee any skiing with a knee recovery! They did say it was a quick and minimal procedure...he isn't even giving him crutches :confused3 Well,,, he will have the entire weekend to lay around and not be up walking on it...he did tell him he might want to use a cane. :rotfl: My kids would never let Daddy hear the end of that!!!!

Lots of luck to your hubby, Shawna. Hope his procedure goes super smoothly for him. I think that another Disney trip sounds like just what the doctor ordered.

Shawna.... as far as our market... alot of it does depend on the neighborhood.... for example in my neighborhood the homes range from about $85-$105... our homes were built in from around 1989-1995... newer construction here is about $110-$130 sq ft.... for the middle of the road builders.... high end builders are more around the $125 sq ft....

Best wishes to him!! My dad had a similar post-surgery protocol - he got to walk from the post-op to the car! Needless to say, he was happy to not have my knee surgery experiences and yeah, I was jealous (but mostly happy that it was so easy, know what I mean? I don't want anyone to have the surgery I had!).
