What is wrong with your DH's knee Shawna? My DH just had knee surgery this morning. It's been a long day. Up since 4:00am. :faint: But everything went well. He had a minor meniscus tear. They did send him home with crutches and he is to start some physical therapy Friday. Hopefully he will be back to work in a few weeks. :wizard: Good luck to your DH.

Mindy - I hope you are having a great vacation! :goodvibes

hey all! yeah, Shelly, he has the same thing I think that your hubby had...but his is more to the outside, so the damage is minimal....I was wondering why they didn't say crutches at least to the car?!!! I personally wouldn't want to walk on it!!!!! YIKES!!! But, if I can walk around after 3 C-Sections....;)
the only thing is he is having it early Friday morning in Houston...and I will have to drive home...I abhor driving in Houston...I always make him do it!! But, we might have to spend the night there on Thursday...if his surgery is before 9, we would have to leave here around 6 with the traffic and the med center is hard to get to...he almost didn't find it last week. He got directions from the answering service (which were totally wrong), off the internet and then when he finally got to the building...the lady said, Oh...well now they are over there..cross back through here, go over the sky-walk and here are some directions printed!!!! It took him like 45 minutes just to get to it---WITH directions!!!!! I just don't like anything about Houston...and they are always having road construction on the 610/IH45...they take the signs down and don't put up temporaries while they are working!!!! It's nuts. So...I will keep you posted!!!

Hi guys!! Shawna and Shelly - hope your DH's knees are good to go soon (for another Disney trip!!)!

Mindy - glad you're having fun even with the crowds and new baby!

Shawna - I don't know about houses per sq. ft, but our values have been dropping like crazy! We've probably lost about 30% of the value. That's based on what houses in our neighborhood are now selling for compared to a few years ago. The market is still pretty crappy. Our neighbor across the street had their house for sale for almost a year.

I had a great, albeit brief, meeting with Kim yesterday! Her family is so awesome! We're hoping to get together again on their way back from WDW next Monday and have dinner. I posted a couple pics on Kim's PTR.

I'm going to get an update on my TR tonight (really!!) It's been so crazy lately and I had an awfully busy day at work, so I'm just kicking back tonight. I'm also getting a cold. I sneezed about 47 times so far today (and I took a claritin!!).

Sheree~ I got the start of the sinus jukn Sat night...i felt bad Sun before church..but I loaded up on Mucinex and Ibuprofen! That always helps with the pain in my throat/ears. I still have some slight drainage...but the pain isn't as bad...I hate that about your home value!!! I bet it'll come back up...late spring early summe is such a good time for house sales....maybe your neighbor will get a buyer soon!

Okay...you have GOT to go see Sherlock Holmes!!!! WOW! That was awesome!! If you even remotely like Robert Downey Jr. or Jude Law...you gotta go! I, of course, love both of them!!! I went with a friend of mine tonight and we had a blast! It is a very good show...did have a few creepy parts, but I think they only said one curse word the entire show.....anyhoo..we have been trying to get to go forever..it was worth it! I dont leave the family to go to movies often, but this was fantastic!!!

I'm kind of intrigued by Sherlock Holmes. I think I might like to see it. Perhaps when it comes out on DVD.

It's hard being back here in cold, cold Pennsylvania. I miss the warm Florida weather already. Is it too early to start planning for November 2011?

I dont do TR's so here are a couple of my favorite pics from the weekend.

I really want to see Sherlock Holmes, but will either have to wait for it to come out on DVD. Well that or on one of the online sites that David has on his computer where you can watch movies that are still in theatres. I <3 Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. My fil just thought the movie was ok, so the DH won't go see it in movie theatres.

Well I've been up since 2:22 AM. I had a nightmare about a Disney Land vacation. My grandmother decided that she wanted to take my boys to DL. She paid for and let me plan the trip. As soon as we checked into our Disney resort (not sure which one) the boys wanted to go to the pool first. Well my mom and grandmother were sitting near the pool and the boys and I were in it. As we were playing in the water we noticed a red, black, and yellow snake. John took off running out of the pool (he was freaked out enough by the ducks in the WL pool) and Joey took off toward the deep end. I went after Joey since John went to my mom. I noticed a man standing in the pool in a suit facing away from me and yelled at him to get the snake out of the water. He turned to me and said they were harmless and part of his wildlife kids show. I kept yelling at him about being careless about letting his snakes go. He finally just yelled, "they're harmless. Here, I"ll show you." Then he threw them at me. They hit me in my arms and curled around them. When I was able to get them off me, they had hit my arms so hard that you could see marks on my arms. As soon as my boys were away from the pool, I went to the front desk to have a "talk" with a manager. As I was "talking" to the manager, I had a heart attack.

It woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep. The only good thing about the dream is that I looked great in the swimsuit that I had on.

Thank God for Netflix on sleepless nights. After getting caught up on Vampire Diaries, I went to Netflix. I was able to watch Footloose. I hadn't seen that movie in ages, but it was still soo good.

Mindy those pics are too cute!! That last pic, I just want to pick him up in those PJ and snuggle him up.

OF course not!!! Plan away girl!! I love your pictures...and yes, the one with your baby in the mouse ears is wonderful....I miss mine being that little!!!

Wookie~ I hate that dream! I do have dreams like that alllll the time...they are all vivid like movies too....snakes totally freak me out.

Shelly & Shawna - My DH had that surgery a few years ago. He was on crutches for a day and then PT. If I recall, the surgery was on a Thursday and he went back to work on Monday. He couldn't drive for a few weeks - it was his right knee. As long as they do their PT they'll do great!

I don't think they have said anything about PT either...not sure, maybe he just didn't tell me because it will be set up for later.....He still doesn't know what time it'll be on Friday.....they are HARD to get on the phone...he has called them everyday and it keeps going to the one girls voicemail...weird...oh well, hopefully he will get them today.

DH is getting around pretty well. His knee is still pretty swollen, as expected.

It sounds like your surgery day will be quite a pain in the behind, as was ours. We had to go where they sent us since it was a work related injury. So off we went clear to the other side of Pittsburgh at 5:00am Monday morning. We probably passed 10 hospitals to get to this one. :sad2: The kids didn't have school Monday, so they were with us. DS10 got sick on the way and had "stomach issues" most of the day. We had to be there at 6:30 and they never took him into surgery until 9:30. What a day it was. :faint:

I hope all goes well for your DH. :wizard:

Thanks, that is reassuring. DH starts PT today, in about an hour actually. I was surprised they are starting him only 2 days after the surgery.

I never found out my surgery times until 4pm the day before. It was kind of a pain, especially since I had to listen to my husband complain.

Hee - that's pretty typical, time-wise, but it must have seemed like FOREVER with your poor boys! As for PT, that's about the same time I started mine with my minor knee surgery last summer. It's really a very good thing to get people moving quickly after surgery. For my first knee surgery, it was about 2 weeks and I lost a little bit of my range of motion that I'll probably never get back (no matter how hard my current PT tries!).

Ok...well, we just got the email for his knee stuff! We have to be there at 6:30....which means we will spend the night on Thursday..but I have to get the kids up at the crack of dawn....there is noooo way I am taking Mike and dropping him off then coming back to get the kids from the hotel(ds14 is old enough to watch them, but YEESH)...i can't ever find my way around down there AND it's 100% chance of rain Friday. So...they should all be good and gripey! He has to go back Tues for his first post-op, then again the first week of March...he does PT at our local hospital..which is about 10 min from here...Hallelujah!!!! They did say they provided crutches if we don't have any...well, duh? I don't even know anyone who has a pair. So...I just hope it goes quick for him....the only phobia he has is about knees!!!! Isn't that crazy!

He had requested to have a late morning time, and when they called us the Friday before they told us to be there at 6:30am. We were not impressed. So we were up at 4:00am, on the road by 5:00, and not back home until about 1:00pm. So it seemed like FOREVER to me, so I can only imagine how it seemed for the kids! But they did really well, thankfully.

Yes, I guess it's good to get started on the PT right away. But I bet he is going to be sore tonight! :scared:
