It's super cold here today. My DD8 has a friend over and I may have to drive her home - don't want to go out!!! DH is working at the Vikings game (YAY Vikes!!).
I packed up some Christmas decorations. Still haven't done the tree. I'm thinking I need to do this gradually so the house doesn't seem so empty all at once!
Yay Vikings!
My inlaws, in the SW corner of MN, had a high temp of -25 yesterday. Yeeeah. We hit 18!
it's supposed to snow tomorrow, though I don't think we're getting the same as the northeast. Amusingly, it's also my post-op appointment and, hopefully, I'll be losing the crutches! It can snow all it wants after that.
We had a moment of "excitement" yesterday. We went to the Target with the small parking lot and.. my husband whipped around the corner and snagged the open handicapped space. He failed to notice a woman who had been waiting to approach the space. She rolled down her window and so did DH. She proceeded to yell at him and then drove forward. I rolled *my* window down and started to get her attention and was greeted, uncheerfully, with a witch with a capital b. At this point, I opened the car door, and stood up, crutches and all, saying "Ma'am! We'll move!" She saw the crutches, backed waaaaaaaaaaaay off and took the space that was across the aisle.
Yes. She was SCREAMING at us and cursing at us for a matter of two car widths parking space. I was totally willing to let her have the space, even if I had to crutch mile, because, dangit, IT IS A PARKING SPACE. ON A DRY SUNNY DAY. Not only that, she had her pre-teen daughter in the car, listening to her curse.
Oh good grief!! I was once rear-ended by a tailgater, so, at this point in my life, if someone is that angry/in that much of a hurry/whatever, you know what? GO AHEAD!
Ugh. It was DH's fault for "stealing" the space, but we were going to give it back, even without the ire she directed at us.
Otherwise, my 2010 is going quietly. I hope for good things tomorrow; I'm 33 and I'm hopefully getting off crutches! Hooray!
