Hi everyone!!! We had quite the weekend and if you're interested, you can read all about it on my PTR. It's WAY too much to type out again!

Speaking of dance classes....I don't know how my parents afforded all of my classes. By the time I was 7 or 8 years old, I was taking 2 ballet classes a week plus a jazz class. Once I reached middle school, I was at the studio everyday. I think I took at least 5 ballet classes, jazz, tap, modern and pointe. One year, I took 10 classes and assisted with 2 other ones!!!

Oh heavens! Let's hope Sarah doesn't go crazy! i was sort of like that with skating though. Cost a fortune! I'm sure your parents were happy to do it for you if it made you happy! That's kind of how I feel. As long as I can afford it, I'd gladly do it for the girls. which is why I'm going to go back to full time working in September! Every little bit helps! When I think about it, I really wasn't that productive on my Fridays off. Just grocery shopping and volunteering at school. The rest was just "me" time. I will sacrifice that for $$! I'll just take more vacation days!
Shawna - I guess with weather like that, you have to enjoy the a/c and pool! It's like winter here. You have to find ways to embrace it and enjoy or else stay cozied up inside!

When I was in HS, my goal was to become a professional ballet dancer. But, my parents didn't let me move to NYC after I graduated, so those plans had to change. I feel the same way with Madison's Irish dancing. It's much more expensive than dancing at a regular dance studio, but she really loves it. If she moves up a level next year, we have to pay for the school dress (she's in the beginning costume right now) which is $450 and we'll have to get a wig which is around $150. That $450 is like a rental fee. Once Madison is done dancing, we'll get back $300. Not to mention, she'll probably get to learn her hard shoe dances this year and those shoes are over $100. I'm thinking that we're going to buy some used ones first!!!

Geez! I'm glad Em is only 3 and not into any of those expensive dance classes... yet! Perhaps instead of saving for Disney I should be saving for extracurricular activities.

The fire marshal called Friday and told me he would be here tomorrow at 11:30. He's not supposed to tell me a date and time but he slipped and I'm grateful. It's my last inspection and I'm nervous.

In Disney news- I'm going through some MEGA Disney World withdrawal these days!!!! I brought it up to Jason and of course he just says to let him know when he needs to pack his bags and take a week off work as he rolls his eyes at me. Poor man doesn't stand a chance living in a house with 3 people that talk daily about going back. :rotfl: I'm aiming for early May but we also have to wait and see about his Dad and of course if we have enough money saved up by then. If not May then I told him I'd like to go in November 2011. Either way I'm going in 2011 I told him. No ressies or concrete plans but a glimmer of hope is better than nothing for now.

We're headed to Hershey this Saturday. It's no Disney but it will be fun! We were going to try and go the Saturday before Father's Day but found out Jason has to work. What a nice Father's Day weekend for him. :headache:

Andrew has 8 more days of school. I'm looking forward to a little break this summer too. I lose 3 daycare kids for the summer and the only family that will be here full time will be on vacation the last week of this month so I get a week off!!!! I'm looking forward to a week relaxing with just my kids. :cloud9:

Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes Only 4 days of school left here. And I actually didn't get called in to sub today. I worked yesterday and that very well could have been my last day I suppose. I can't imagine people calling off so close to the end now. But you never know. . .

We've missed you Shelly!! all that other stuff is interfering with DIS time, eh?
We have 4 days left of school, one week of dance and that's about all for now. DD9 is now talking about taking dance this summer, we'll see...
!

 I know, stupid life getting in the way of DISing!!

We are aiming for a low key summer. Very few structured activities. The spring and fall are so busy with so much going on so I am hoping for a quiet summer.

G!

Well, I survived a slumber party of 12-year-olds, followed by a soccer tournament of 10-year-olds. DS10 went straight from the tournament to another slumber party. Both boys were wiped out by Sunday afternoon! I also had to make DS12 a kilt. In school they're doing a musical-comedy version of MacBeth :confused3 and he asked for a kilt for his costume. I am definitely NOT a talented seamstress but I thought it came out pretty good. Lining up plaids and ironing all those pleats was quite a challenge for me.

Hope you all have a magical Disney day! pixiedust:

Oh I can't even imagine a sleepover with a bunch of DS11's friends. :faint: You are much braver than me!! How was the soccer tournament? Ours was cancelled Sunday due to all the rain. Hoping to get it in this coming weekend.

Good luck with the inspections!! :wizard:

And good luck with the Disney planning -- May and November -- my 2 favorite times to go! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Have fun at Hershey! :cool1: We haven't decided if we are headed out there this summer at all or not. . . Every year I say we aren't going, but we always end up there. :upsidedow

Good Morning girls!!! Well, My ds14 texted me early this morning..he is very nervous...not sure why...he really gets anxious in large crowds where attention is put on him...so not real sure what made him nervous...I told him I was praying for him to have peace,...he sent back a Thanks!! So, if you think about it, pray for my little guy!!!
And our poor dog...she is miserable...she is missing him..she just follows me around looking so sad with her little head hanging down... I think she knew when she saw the rolling duffle on his bed Sunday!!!
Hope ya'll have a great day...gonna feed my munckins some lunch..then I feel a tiny nap comin' on...I didnt sleep worth a darn---Annie kept me up last night crying for ds! Hopefully I will feel revived after lunch & a rest!!

I'm SO happy this afternoon!!!! The fire marshal came out this morning and gave me the A-OK to use the new room! The kids were ecstatic to eat lunch in there today!

Shelly- Hooray for a day off! You've been so busy lately- I'm sure it feels great to relax for a change. Plus you've been missed! ;)

I'm kind of looking forward to Hershey but I'm nervous going on a Saturday. We usually try to go on a weekday. I'm hoping it won't be too crowded yet. All I know is that I'm getting me a few boxes of Good N Plenties. I'm one of the strange few that goes to Chocolate World and doesn't get chocolate. Just not a huge fan unless it's got caramel in it ;)

Shawna- Praying your DS starts feeling less nervous. Enjoy your nap! :thumbsup2

A Snowbirdy hello to everyone else- :cold::wave:

Kim! I know u are so excited to be finished with all that!! I would love to go to Hershey!!! Mercy..we just had quite a thunderstorm!! I was sooo excited!! We have had some rain..but not this heavy and we got some thunder and lightening...it cooled it down quite a bit!!!! Don't know how long the low humidity will last,...but it's great right now. And I don't need to water the grass or flower gardens at all!! I was sooo tired and sleepy--now I am all hyped up! Ha!

I am enjoying getting all caught up on things around the house today! :goodvibes Oh, and DISing of course! :rotfl:

Kim. You'll be really close to me. We are only 25 min from Hershey. It will most definitely be crowded on a Saturday :(

Unfortunately in our experience Hershey Park is always crowded, no matter what day of the week. :confused3 We actually stopped going to the park and just take the drive out there to go to Chocolate World and do all the other attractions!

Although DS11 has been asking to go to the park this summer. . . Maybe we'll go. . . We'll see. . .

Let us know how it goes Saturday and take lots of pics!! ::yes::

Hey Shelly! :goodvibes

Good to see you around again! I was wondering if you would mind sharing your park planning info about the best days of the week to go to each park. I was trying to find it but had no luck :confused3

Thanks :)

To keep myself from going stark raving Disney withdrawl crazy I am "pretend planning" a November 2011 Poly trip! :upsidedow

It's sad to say but we refuse to go to Hershey after school lets out. It's a very hot park. Lots of sun and lots of hills . . . oh and all of the people! We like to go is the spring and fall before the park closes for the season.

We also make the drive just to go to Chocolate World :) LOVE Chocolate World. they are opening a section so that you can make your own candy bar. Supposed to be very cool (according to my DH, who works for Hershey)

Last day of school today!! So proud of my Rylan. He's officially a first grader. Lots of activities planned for the summer, as well as some more hours at work will make for busy days. More money for my Disney trip =) perhaps I'll book a MK View at the Poly ;)

Sure can! :thumbsup2

This is what used to be posted on AllEars and has always worked good for me.

Busiest days at each park:
MK - Mon Thu Fri
Epcot - Tue Fri
DHS - Sun Wed Sat
AK - Mon Tue Wed

So I try to avoid those days, avoid EMH, and another good tip is to go to the park that had PM EMH the night before.

Best days:
MK - Tue Wed
Epcot - Thu Sat Mon
DHS - Tue Fri
AK - Thu Fri Sat

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Good luck with the November 2011 Poly trip!! :wizard:

Well you just talked me right out of Hershey Park! :rotfl: I am remembering all the reasons I didn't care for it. And don't forget -- no fastpasses!! :confused3:lmao:

So tell me about this make your own candy bar thing. . . Do you make an actual candy bar or do you mean the personalized wrapper? We've seen the wrapper thing before but never done it. We love the chocolate tour and the 3-D show!! The kids have done the factory works a few times and we did the chocolate tasting adventure last summer but didn't think it was too great.

Watching an old show on WDW on Travel Channel right now!! Only 13 minutes left!

All this talk about Hershey!! I've been twice, once with kids. We never went to Hershey Park, just chocolate world and other stuff around there.

Shawna - Hope your DS is feeling okay. I bet you're glad to have gotten rain! It's rained here all day too. Just a nice rain, no storms.

2 more days of school!

I'm sorry that I talked you out of Hershey. It is a nice park with lots of great rides. I just don't do well with crowds or heat.

The make your own candy bar thing is actually making your own candy bar. I was there at Chocolate World with Ry two weeks ago but it wasn't up and running yet. It looks all official with the chocolate workers and their hair nets. Personally, I think the factory works thing is cheesy. Love the tour ride, though. Cheesy, yes but it's a classic LO

Madison still has 10 more days of school (last day is June 22nd) and I can't wait for her to be done! Once school is over, that's when the real craziness begins! Weddings, dance classes...the list is never ending!

Wow Meghan. Her school goes really late. Is that because of snow days or is that typical for your district?

Just talked to my boss. Definitely looks like more hours coming my way. She needs some one to do evaluations so I've volunteered. I'm currently working every other Tuesday and every Thursday. I'll pick up these kiddos on Mondays. I don't love being away from my boys but I love to pamper them. Working allows me to do that.

We're planning on being at the Poly November, 2011 ;)

Which week Mindy?? I would ideally like to go either the week right before or the week right after U.S. Thanksgiving! They seem like the 2 best weeks! :goodvibes

Sure can! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much Shelly!!! That gives me something to play with until the actual UG Calendar gets caught up to that point! :cool1:

I know it isn't in the budget for us to go again in January but I am REALLY hoping that we can make it happen for November - I am just so desperate to see the Christmas stuff up at WDW!!!
