Sheree~ You just come on back to disney this Nov..we'll let you!!! ha!!!
Sarah~ right before our cruise (a few years ago)..some big virus was on the ship and people were sick as dogs...but, they did whatever they do to completely sanitize it and said we were so lucky because that's the cleanest the ship would be for a while! No one was sick during our cruise- not that we knew anyway! It was sooooo fun!
Meghan~ My bff lives in Maryland and she's kinda close to where you are going...her hubby teaches a class at the Naval school..also...Kim(Monny) is not too terribly far...about 2 hours maybe? I want to go over there soooo bad!!My friend is expecting #2 in August....so Maybe in Sept I can zip over there and see her!!
Well..my son comes home tonight...I know he is sooo ready..he ended up having fun..but now they are just exhausted!! I bet he sleeps alllll day Saturday!

KIM (canada)....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! :cake: :bday: I hope your day is wonderful!!!!!

when i was younger our summer trips were always to colorado, then the first week of august was spent at the lake with my moms entire family.
this summer my big trip is about 2 weeks away :). other than that maybe a day trip for baseball games. my friend and i are still trying to figure out if we can get to the twin cities for a game or two.

Besides Hershey. . . We take several day trips into the city (Pittsburgh) over the summer. The school is sending me to a conference at Seven Springs this summer for 3 days. http://www.7springs.com/ Sometimes we drive up to Niagara Falls. . . We aren't too far from Cedar Point too. http://www.cedarpoint.com/

That's about it around here!

Any summer plans for you Shawna?
We've gone skiing at 7Springs- well some of us skied, others of us didn't do so well and enjoyed the hot chocolate more. Have you ever heard of Knoebels? It's an off the wall place, not like Hershey. We used to go there all the time as a kid. Never been to Cedar Point. Might have to check it out.

It's sad to say but we refuse to go to Hershey after school lets out. It's a very hot park. Lots of sun and lots of hills . . . oh and all of the people! We like to go is the spring and fall before the park closes for the season.

We also make the drive just to go to Chocolate World :) LOVE Chocolate World. they are opening a section so that you can make your own candy bar. Supposed to be very cool (according to my DH, who works for Hershey)

Last day of school today!! So proud of my Rylan. He's officially a first grader. Lots of activities planned for the summer, as well as some more hours at work will make for busy days. More money for my Disney trip =) perhaps I'll book a MK View at the Poly ;)
Congrats to Rylan! Andrew finishes next Thursday and then I can say the same about him!
I'm actually dreading Hershey tomorrow. Not only is it going to be crowded and more than likely hot, but just by chance one of my daycare families are going tomorrow too. Don't get me wrong I love my daycare kiddos but it's always nice to have a break on the weekends without seeing them.;)

Well I'm off to Target to get some stuff for Hershey tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Hey Everyone!!!

Well, today is my 34th Birthday! I have had a quiet yet wonderful day! My girls were off school today and we spent the morning grocery shopping and restocking the pantry! We had a quiet time after lunch and then my family came over with cake and gifts!

Ken BBQ'd steak for supper along with baked potatoes, asparagus, and garlicy buttery mushrooms! Mmmmmmmm, so yummy! He then presented me with an amazing gift. He put together a scrapbook of letters from so many people in my life who had something to share about me and the effect I had on their life! I tell you, I pert near went through a whole box of kleenex! I had no idea how much I was loved by so many people! I feel so special!

Some of you contributed to that album and for your friendship I am eternally grateful! I am so blessed to have "met" each and every one of you! You have blessed my life in so many ways! Thanks

Oh Kim!!! I am glad it was a great day!!!! I love ya bunches!!!!!

Well...we just got big boy home about an hour ago...he is sooooo glad to be home! he was so thankful to get a real shower...he is now in bed and has our whiney, moping, depressed doggie in there with him!!! She was so excited when he got here!

Kim - I'm so happy you had a good birthday with the family!!
:bday::cake:

Shawna - I'm glad your boy is home safe and sound (and clean!) and the dog is happy too!

Hope to have some time tomorrow to DIS, but have a bunch of things to do and I'll be at the recitals tomorrow evening, Sunday afternoon and evening. I'm sure the weekend will fly by. Hope you all have a good one!!

Well...today is my 5 month mark!!! :jumping1: party:

Exactly 5 months (or 22 weeks!!) from today, right now, we should be in the air!!! I hope we can get a 9:45 flight...might as well make it early..we can't sleep anyway!! Which means we HAVE to leave here by 6...no later!! So...we will then be going to the ME-where hopefully the lines will be nill!! Then onto the BEACH CLUB!! After I get our rooms found and take a few pics of the new rooms (havent been since the renos)...we will find......SHELLY!!!!! She and I are gonna meet..finally!! I guess it's been 2 years now we have all been chatting? Well...I will meet Mama Snowbird, Mr. Snowbird and the Snowbird boys!!!! How exciting is that?! That's the most exciting thing for Day1..aka Arrival Day!!
I am not going to do a TR this year...so as I think of neat little tidbits or what we are looking forward to, I will post it! I am pretty sure we are doing the MVMCP...probably on the Tuesday night that it's offered...but I think I am going to wait for ticket purchasing a little closer...just want to make sure the weather is friendly!!!!
Ok...want to hear something that is soooo typical of children? I got an idea from a girl on the Passporter thing last year concerning snax...She made snack bags for each kid, for each day...you know, the little snack zippies? Anyway...I did it and it was great! I made each kid a bag for each day at the park and put their name on it, so 3 baggies per day..they each had 2 sticks of gum, then assorted small stuff, like 2 starbursts, tiny package of bottlecaps, whatever wasn't chocolate due to melting. I did one for the plane ride going and returning...especially handy since you can't buy gum ANYWHERE!! Well...guess what the first thing out of ds11s mouth is when I told him we had plans for the next trip? Out of everything we do and see...."mom...are you gonna do those little snack bags for us again?" I said, Yeah..if you want me to. "YESSS!!!":woohoo::yay: He says!!! Isn't that crazy? All the plotting and planning and that is what he wanted...actually, I did it as a surprise for Jan 09 trip, he asked for it again for Dec 09 and this conversation was about a month ago for the next trip!!!! He even went and told dd, who replied with as much enthusiasm as he did!! So...if you are looking for something fun and different....do that!!! It really came in handy when we were waiting for the monorail, bus, or the times between meals when you really don't want to use a snack credit and feed them an entire box of popcorn:: because you are about to have dinner!!

YAY Shawna!!
:banana::banana::banana:

There's 5 for ya!!
Do you mean you're not going to do a PTR? I hope you do a TR afterwards!
I think the little snack bags are great! Your kids are too funny. I'm going to do that for the plane for sure!!!

I have heard that the MVMCPs aren't quite as busy and crowded at the beginning, so hopefully you'll have good weather and low crowds. How lucky are you that you get to meet Shelly!! I'm jealous!

Oh, you know if I could get there cheaply I would be there in a minute! Nov. 11 is a holiday for me and DH (Veteran's Day) (NOT for the kids' school! HA!)

I'm 8 days away from my trip to Europe!

And I survived the weekend with the in-laws! (Small house, lots of people, didn't go anywhere) I do wish they would travel, though, because it would be all sorts of awesome to have them come with us to Europe. They (parents, brother in law, his wife) declined and my brother and wife declined, so it's "just" my parents with us. Oh well!

Once back, I get to start thinking about next summer's Disney trip! :)

Sarah!! How exciting!! I know you just can't wait! Have you decided how you are going to pack since it's so many days? That would freak me out!! I would just have to rotate jeans/capris/shorts and get lots of new tops!Take lots of notes and pics for us!!! And be careful with that knee!!!!

No! No decisions yet. Husband said no packing until this weekend... and we were out of town (go figure). I'm thinking 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of capris... I have my "formal" dress and another dress and that's as far as I've made it, so far!

I did start my list... you know, the one with things like "where are the J's ties?" and "does his suit coat even fit?" with smaller things like "please don't forget body wash." Haha. And then I left it at home, so I haven't been able to add to it today!

Sarah - I hope you are doing well with your packing list!
I forget - is this the cruise now? Or Europe?

For cruising one easy thing to do for packing is a pair of nice black pants or skirt and then just wear different tops with it. I've done that for the dinners and it worked great. Of course, the pants didn't fit very well by the end of the cruise! HA!
I wish I could start packing already! I know how hard it is to pack for a combo trip and cruises are tough since they want you to dress nice for dinner! I thought it would be fun to dress up, but was so comfy in my t-shirts and shorts!

I'm sure you'll be fine and have a great time! We'll expect a report when you get back you know!

Sarah, I started packing some of my stuff today. I got the vast majority laid out on my bed (needless to say I can't find my bed at the moment). Luckily with NCL they don't have "dress codes" for some of the restaurants so I don't have to pack any dressy clothes. I'm really trying to stick with 1 suitcase, however I don't think that's going to work out so well.

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's cold and cloudy here today with showers and thunderstorms for the next few days. Take care everyone!

I'm glad you had such a wonderful birthday. Yummy dinner! Ken is such a thoughtful husband. It's the little things with big thoughts that make the best gifts.

Good luck packing! Pretty soon you'll be at sea in the sunshine away from all that nasty wet and cold weather. :cool2:

Wow you're getting so close! Can't wait to hear a full TR when you get back!

Happy Monday Snowbirds! (I can say that since Monday's work day is done :cool1: ) I've been super busy these days since I took on a newborn. :faint: I almost forgot how much work they are. She's the sweetest little thing- 3 months but man does she love to be held! Makes for a long day and has definitely reminded me of why DH and I are done with having any more kids. It's nice to pass them over to the parents for the night.

We had a nice weekend and the kids had a blast at Hershey. We spent most of the day in the waterpark area. It was very hot and all I kept thinking was how I would not want to be at Disney at those temps. Funny how everywhere makes me think of Disney. DH rolled his eyes at me because I made a comment about how it just wasn't the same without the big fat Mickey glove when the workers waved goodbye on our way out.

***Edited: I've tried 2X to make these pics not so big! Photobucket is not my friend today. :headache:

We did do a little discussing of Disney again. We're torn between May and November of 2011 but leaning more towards November now. I'd love to see Disney all decorated for Christmas. Plus Andrew always has a couple days off school in the first 2 weeks of school so if I timed it right he wouldn't miss too many days. So now I'm making plans for November to keep myself sane.
