Thanks for your prayers my friends! Jana is scheduled for a 12 hour surgery on Friday to remove the tumor. a few days in ICU, 2 weeks in the hospital and 3 -4 weeks recovery at home. She has a great support system with family, friends and church family, so I know it will be fine. I will be getting updates often - she has a caring bridge site now too - and hope to visit her in the hospital next week.

Please keep us posted on her progress!

In other news - Paige has her first dance competition on Saturday! She's so excited!! We practiced her hair do last night and she was standing in the bathroom later and said - I'm SO excited about it! It's cute! I've been studding her costume with rhinestones and all that is left is to do a little sewing - I have to tack on the ends of suspenders to her shorts. She just loves getting all done up and dancing! Such fun!

Good luck to Paige! I never competed in dance (that's what happens when you go to a super classical ballet studio) but I love going to competitions. Even at my age I LOVE getting all dolled up for dance recitals.

Sarah is having her oral surgery to remove 4 permanent teeth on Wednesday. She's pretty scared, despite my reassurances. Should only take a little while and we'll be home by noon! I'll let you all know how that goes too.

I'm sure she'll do just fine! I know I was terrified when I had to get my wisdom teeth out and I was 22!

Boy, am I looking forward to getting on that plane! I need to work on my packing list. I wish I knew what the weather will be like in a few weeks. Paris had some REALLY cold weather the last couple weeks - it better get warmer!!

I am super jealous. I'd love to go just about anywhere in Europe. I cannot wait to see all of your pictures!

Meghan - BWI for less than a mod IS too good to pass up!!! I hope you can go!! We're going in October and I'll be anxious to see what stuff in Fantasyland is open by then.

It is an awesome deal. I'm just waiting on Tony for the go ahead to book. The good things about going in August is obviously the great deal on hotel and tickets. But, in September there is MNSSHP, Test Track will be reopening in Sept, I'm hoping that a lot of the Fantasyland stuff will be done....Sept is looking like the best option right now. AHHH! Too many decisions!

It's official...we're going to Disney World!!!! Not sure on exact dates yet, but I'm so excited. Tony sent me an Edible Arrangement today for Valentine's Day and in the card he wrote that I can start planning because we're going to Disney World. Yahoo! I'm about 90% sure we're going to plan a September trip. I'm not bummed about not staying at the Boardwalk for a week because I still get to stay there for 2 nights. I'm so excited!

It's official...we're going to Disney World!!!! Not sure on exact dates yet, but I'm so excited. Tony sent me an Edible Arrangement today for Valentine's Day and in the card he wrote that I can start planning because we're going to Disney World. Yahoo! I'm about 90% sure we're going to plan a September trip. I'm not bummed about not staying at the Boardwalk for a week because I still get to stay there for 2 nights. I'm so excited!

Just wanted to let you all know that Sarah had her oral surgery - all went well and we're just hanging out in front of the TV this afternoon. She was pretty brave (for her!) and it was over in less than an hour!

Tony and I didn't get to chat too much last night (a little man in the house didn't want to go to bed), but we did decide to go at the end of September for sure (around the same time we went in 2010). Now the hard part...where to stay!!!! I have no idea where to stay, but we'd like to stay at a Mod. If it was up to Madison, we'd be staying at the new Art of Animation resort. The pictures look amazing, but it's more expensive than a Mod!!

I'd love to hear feedback from my Snowbirds. I love the look of CSR, but I don't think we'd like to stay there this time around. I know Shelly loves CBR, but does anyone have strong opinions about POFQ or POR?

Meghan,,my best friend and her hubby and kids just went in December..they always try to stay at a Deluxe or do a split,..this year they did Riverside and she said it was fabulous!! Especially with the room with a set of Queen, not full beds..her hubby is veeeery tall, so that's a big deal for them. If we could swing 5 in a room, this would be my pick. But I love the look of the Mansion rooms!!!!

For our trip this year we are staying at POP, but I really want to stay at POR. I have a friend that went late last year and they loved it. I should say we're at POP at least for now - the pin I currently am using wasn't available for any of the room locations I wanted at POR, so maybe if something better comes out we can change. As much as I liked the rooms and themeing at CBR, it was just too big of a resort for our taste.

Much to my amazement, Sarah did extremely well yesterday. She never complained of pain, never needed so much as Motrin, just sat around all afternoon and relaxed. She enjoyed some mommy and TV time and pudding! She had a friend come over last night for a little while and was acting like normal (for her!). So this morning she went off to school! Even went early for choir!

Now I'm going to focus my prayers for my friend Jana, who's having her surgery tomorrow.

I know that many people I speak to love POR. All of the rooms at POR and POFQ currently have or are getting queen sized beds which is awesome. The double beds at Pop were not great...we have a king sized at home!

I showed Tony the resort maps for all of the Mods and he was NOT a fan of the whole multiple bus stop thing for CBR, CSR and POR.

I think we're leaning heavily towards POFQ...one bus stop, newly refurbed rooms, Maddie likes the look of the pool and slide....I've been checking out www.portorleans.org today. Lots of great photos!

Some of us started together planning trips for January 2009, hence the name Snowbirds!
I live in Minnesota, and people who go south for the winter are called snowbirds too. Unfortunately, I don't get to spend 3 months in FL every winter!

This year we're going to London and Paris in March (in 11 days!!!!) - not going to be warm there either, but who goes there for the weather??


Paige had her first dance competition today and it was AWESOME!! They did so well! Took two big trophies back home to the studio and they had never done their routines so well! Proud mommy!!

In other news - My friend Jana made it through surgery yesterday. They only took about 1/2 the tumor, and she will have to have another surgery for the rest of it, plus radiation because some of it is wrapped around the carotid artery. Not great, but we will keep praying...

Hi all! Just popping in to say HI! Long-time, no talk!
I've been stalking for quite a while, catching up with you all and your TR's! I tend to stay away when I'm in my No-trip-to-plan depression, and we were planning on skipping since I got new kitchen appliances, but just got a new job with a pay increase, so thinking, maybe... My 6 month probationary period is up in August, so hoping we can take a week right before the kids start school in mid-August. Drew is adamant about not missing school because he doesn't like catching up on the homework. So we'll see.
