~Snowbird Chat 2~

I'm here! Stalking mostly, but now that we're planning a trip, will surely stop by more often. Haven't officially booked the trip, but did book ADR's. Gotta plan the trip around the meals! :lmao: Picked two new ones, and 3 oldies so far-Ohana, Cali Grill and Sci Fi for the ones we've done, and Chef Mickey's for breakfast and Tusker House for dinner, which will be new. We've done Tusker for breakfast, but I want to try the dinner. We did Boma one our of our first family trips in '05 and I really liked it but Andy didn't, so this was our compromise. ;)

We decided to not book our usual Biergarten at Epcot this trip, and thought about "snacking around the world." (with drinks of course). What's everyone's favorite snack at Epcot??

I'm here (granted I'm new to the thread, but I'm still here!)! :)

Momto2PrncChrmgs, my favourite snack at Epcot is school bread.

Hey!!! How have you been?!! One of our favorite things is to get caramel at the new place in Germany...and of course, you have to buy some Werthers while there--I have to say the Caramel Apple is one of the best things i have eaten in MY LIFE!! LOL!! Me and my dd split one and she still talks about it regularly!
Of course, funnel cake over by the American area is sounding pretty good right now too!!

:welcome: Glad to have you!!

I'm still here :yay:, even though we haven't been to WDW since the Snowbird trip in January '09. :sad2: I think it's great that we are still chatting more than three years after we all went in the same month. :grouphug:

So how many times have the rest of you been to WDW since then? I know some of you have been at least three more times. Who has the record? ::MickeyMo

I dont have a favorite Epcot snack :( Rylan was really sick on our Epcot day last trip, so we cut it short. I can't wait to book ADRs. I need to find out where everyone wants to eat, first. I think my sister wants to do the Hoop Dee Doo. I want to do either Ohana or Whispering Canyon. We are trying to talk my mom into coming along now. We'll see if she drinks the Kool-Aid ;)

Kathy, we've been back twice since our 09 trip and then just to DTD once. This year, if you count DL will make 5 Disney trips since then. I think I might have a Disney-problem :).

Welcome to our happy "family", ShakeyGirl

Since our 2009 trips I've been to DL once and to DTD once. I'm in serious need of a Disney fix! :thumbsup2 Thankful we'll be doing a trip again this fall.

I don't have a favorite snack in WS - but I'm so excited to try to new caramel place in Germany this year.

Let's see.....Since Jan 2009 we have been in Nov 2009, Nov 2010, and Aug 2011!!

Favorite Epcot snack -- chocolate & caramel covered strawberry in Germany. :cloud9:

Welcome Disneyshakeygirl! :cool1:

Hi there stranger!!! When is your next trip? I can make ADR's for our trip on March 22nd...it's coming up so quickly! We LOVE breakfast at Chef Mickey's. It's on our must do list for every vacation.

We always get a pretzel in Germany (and a beer for Tony) and I adore the fruit tarts from France. The caramel place wasn't open on our last trip, but I look forward to getting a sweet treat there in September.

I LOVE that we still have our Snowbird chat. I joined the boards and the original Snowbird group WAY back in September 2008!! I love my Snowbird "family".

Hmm...we went back for my birthday in June 2009 and then not again until Sept 2010. Wish it could have been more trips!!! Last year we were too busy with having a new baby and all that stuff. :goodvibes

Thanks for the snack ideas-will DEFINITELY be hitting the caramel shop in Germany!

We've only been once since Jan 09, in Jan 11.
Planning on going back Aug 4-11 this year. Thinking about Port Orleans, not sure which side. Right now flights are about $300 pp, so if that's the case, it's Pop all the way! Then again, I've been perusing the DVC rental points...I'm still pretty clueless how that works, and I have trust issues, so not sure if that's the way to go. :rotfl:

Hey Meghan! You are so close to ADR time! Somehow, making those reservations makes things so much more official.

I'm sitting down on Saturday with my "girls" to talk about our trip in December. Hopefully we can get some dining options sorted out.

On this trip, I'm looking forward to so many things. Being able stay in the parks beyond "bed time" . . . Adult beverages in Epcot :)

I can't wait!!! ADR's do make everything very official.

This trip will definately be different for us. Madison is a total night owl AND early bird so we've been able to have back to back late nights with early mornings. Having a little guy will make us have to adjust I'm sure, but maybe he'll be little his big sister!

We went in Sept. 2009, December 2010 and October 2011. I had planned a December 2009 to take advantage of the birthday deals that year, but had to cancel. So it's just 3.

Just 3? :lmao:
And cruising too! Good for you! :goodvibes
Yeah, I know. :rotfl: I guess I'll have to be satisfied to be in a tie!

And the cruises - they make up for all the trips I didn't take while DD was growing up & in college. Now that she's launched and almost self-supporting , I'm making up for lost time!

So for those of you who are frugal & saving for your kids, take heart - they DO grow up!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! Does anyone have plans for the weekend?

On Saturday I'm meeting with my mom, sister and SIL to discuss our trip. I just read that the Hoop Dee Doo will be down for refurb during our trip. I'm kind of bummed, as we wanted to go. Perhaps we'll try the Luau instead. Has anyone done Spirit of Aloha? Or perhaps we'll just be happy a OHana. Who would be happy at OHana?

ME!!! I would be happy at Ohana! :lovestruc
My plans for the weekend are running/walking in a St Pats Day 5 mile race. We did it last year and it was tons of fun-great atmosphere, tons of people, green beer at the finish line, all right before the big St Louis/Dogtown St Patty's parade. And its supposed to be 70-80 this weekend. As long as it doesn't rain, we're good. Of course, I haven't trained at all, so hoping I don't throw up or pass out! :rotfl::rotfl2::dance3:

Hi birdies!! I'm baaaack!!

Had a great trip and will do a TR later.

Kathy - sorry I missed your friend request on FB. I didn't post much, but I'll PM you with my info so you can go look if you want.

Since Jan 2009 we've been back:
Dec 2009 3 day cruise and WDW
July 2010 - oh my gosh, was it hot!
March 2011 - 3 day cruise and WDW
March 2012 - Disneyland PARIS

We're going back to WDW in mid-October 2012 next. Plan to enjoy F&W and snack/drink around the world at least once! We'll do MNSSHP too. We're staying 5 nights at AKV and 2 nights at OKW. Might switch the AKV to an Epcot resort, but not sure.
Can't really say what my favorite snack is at Epcot, my girls love Churros, I like the caramel shoppe stuff, and pastry from France.

Sheree...You WIN!!!:cheer2: you have the most trips so far, right? How fun!! I can't wait to hear all about this latest Excursion!!!!
