~Snowbird Chat 2~

Oh goodness that dog is too stinking cute! Can't really say the boys look cute, can I :rotfl:. Hope they had fun though!!!

Got Mickey Mail yesterday...Magical Express luggage tags!!

Went shopping yesterday, got some new jeans and 2 pairs of sunglasses. I have a tendency to lose/break them easily on vacation.

Snykymom- Hope your power is back on soon. We had a light dusting here but thankfully nothing more damaging.

Red- Happy 1 month!!!!! Congrats on the magical mail!!!

Sarah- Hope your family has power back soon too. That's a crazy amount of snow in October!!!!

Shelly- Loved the costumes- especially Jack's

I'm feeling so overwhelmed right now!!! November snuck up on me and it just hit me how much I have to do this month. :scared1: I don't have too much on my to do list but what IS on there is time consuming stuff! I'm taking a 5 module course online and I only have 1 module completed. That leaves 4 more modules to finish by Dec. 1st when I have to submit it along with a boat load of paperwork to renew my credential. It's taken me 3 years to get to level 6 (highest there is) of the state provider credentialing program and I've put in too much effort to let it lapse. I also have to work on the digital scrapbooks/yearbooks that I give my daycare families each Christmas. I haven't even started them yet and I need to allow time to order them from shutterfly in time for our Christmas party on Dec. 2nd. I better get my tush moving!!!! Not to mention that I would like to have my Christmas shopping done before we go and I also need some time to prep for our trip. November is crunch time and I am going to definitely need a vacation when I'm finally done with all that is on my to do list this month!

Exactly Sheree!!! I guess the boys will have to be the packmules this go round!! Prayers will be muuuuchly appreciated! he is still in bed with an ice pack as we speak!!! It usually takes a few days, but man...we got loooooots to do between now and next week!! I had a super crazy busy day yesterday, and this afternoon/evening will be too...and tomorrow!!! So,..I don't have too much down time, or :surfweb: time for being on here! But, I had to pop over and see what you were all doing today! I was suppose to work in our office today and tomorrow, but maybe he can come in for a little tomorrow---I have bills to pay and things to take care of!!! Gotta make a giant to-do list this afternoon....including buying ds12 some jeans! he has outgrown all of his!

Sorry I didn't get back on for an update - power returned on Monday at 4 PM! It took until about 9 to warm the place back up; it had gone down to 48! :cold: But all is well, and we're better off than some who have yet to have their power return!

Thanks!!! Perhaps I would get more accomplished if I weren't on here :rotfl:

How's DH's mom doing?

Thanks for asking.... not so good... we have hospice nurses there daily and may have to move her to the hospice house soon... I am heading out there on Sunday....

Ooooh I will have to keep an eye out for fun light up Christmas necklaces!!!! It wasn't at Joann's Fabrics was it? Like I need to add more to my list.

I just realized I never responded to this...:flower3:

They were found at Hancock Fabrics. We had also looked at the Dollar Store to just get the Glow Necklaces, ya know the bright neon ones. Just something to make it a little more fun, and we saw the christmas light ones and new they were perfect. I'd guess that probably a few stores carry things similar to this.

I decided to make tie dye tshirts for our january trip.... boy they are more work than I thought... but was happy with the end product (posted photos in my pre-trip report),,,, we each wanted something a little different so tried putting the Mickey in different places for each one...

Shawna- Happy 1 WEEK!!!!! Mike has 7 days to get his back ready for the trip!

Glad you have power and are keeping warm!

Wendy I'm so sorry. You're in my prayers.

We have Hancock Fabrics in my state but it's a bit far to drive. I'll keep my eye out at the dollar stores and Target over the next few weeks. :thumbsup2

They look great! I'm not brave enough to try the tie dye shirts.

I was a good girl and stayed off the computer today! :littleangel:

I worked on the daycare scrapbook/yearbook at nap today and have most of September through January done except for the journaling parts!!!

Then I sat down after dinner and finished part 2 of my 5 part course!!!! Whew my brain is exhausted, my house is a mess with laundry and dishes piling up because I didn't get to them BUT I feel a little less overwhelmed. :woohoo:

Sarah- Hope your family has power back soon too. That's a crazy amount of snow in October!!!!

My parents got their power back around midnight, Monday night/Tuesday morning. My brother and his wife got their power back around 8pm last night. I have friends in CT... who still don't have power. It's nuts. Apparently parts of the US are really a third world country?

Of course, our power company had another glitch, that caused a glitch on work's power center, which caused a substation in the next building over to blow on Wednesday. Apparently it was powerful enough to make the building shake. It took out power in my building for half an hour, our network access (internet, MS Office, shared spaces, etc) for another 2 hours, then another half an hour without power. Then, yesterday, there was a fire in a different building next to us.

:confused3

Glad it's Friday, though!!

Sarah..that is too weird!!

okay girls..I am bummed...just started checking accuweather for my forecast--rain EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!! Are you freakin' kidding me? what is going on? I usually have one day for a rain chance, but Mon-Fri?!!! :scared1: And it doesn't say, partly cloudy, or slight drizzle..it's RAIN!!

That's still far enough away that it should change before then!
Don't worry!

It's Monday morning, more than a week after the storm, and there are thousands in Connecticut STILL without power! It's absurd!

But blowing substations and fires? Somebody really doesn't want to come in to work, Sarah!
