~Snowbird Chat 2~

Becca...cool vacation spot!!! Very nice! That would be soooo much fun!!
Kim....bless y'alls hearts!! That's awful....I can not imagine losing one of my kids....

On a brighter note...(hated to put this in the same post as the one about the baby:sad1:)

I am at 4 months today!!!!!:yay::cheer2::yay::cheer2:tomorrow will start with a 3...it never seems to really be anything close to *it's getting closer!*...until it starts with a 3 month & days marker for me...I dont ever do countdown chains or calendars till 100 or 99 days either,..what about y'all? When do you start thinking...oh yeah!! it's real!?

Oh yeah? Well, I'm at.... 18 hours!

Nope, nothing is in a suitcase yet. So far, it's all piled on the bed. ;)

Thanks, Shelly!! :goodvibes

We are now PACKED! What did we forget?! And we still have almost 13 hours before pick-up! :lmao:

My brother called last night and i asked him how he wanted us to reimburse him for the groceries he was going to pick up.

"That's the thing," he said. "I don't want to carry it around, so I was thinking we could go shopping on Tuesday or something."

Had I known THAT, I would have placed an order with gardengrocer.com. But instead, I said "Well, no, that doesn't make sense to make you haul it around. But since you're not checking out of your timeshare immediately" (He's already down in Kissimmee) "can't we just pick it up from there when you pick us up on Monday?"

"OH! So that way, you guys are hauling your stuff around! No problem!"

I guess I never thought that he'd buy the stuff, take it out of the car, switch from timeshare to hotel with a baby and all her stuff PLUS groceries for the whole family, and then deliver it to our room for us. But he's trying SO hard to do us all the favor that he was going to overdo it.

But, yeah.

Anyway, in addition to what did I forget... am I going to get any sleep?!

Kim - aww, that's so sad. I will keep the family in my prayers.

Shawna - cool - you're getting closer...

But not as close as Sarah!!!

Woo hoo - GO have a great time!!! Good luck with the family drama - I will pray there will only be minimal amounts! ;)

Well...at least the issue was resolved before it was actually an issue!

Thanks everyone for the comments about the awesome vacation rental! We're very excited.

I finally got my husband for an hour this morning so we could go get everything notarized that we needed notarized. I renewed my military ID, because I noticed that it expires next month. I registered that, then went back upstairs to get a copy of the new ID notarized, so it wouldn't hold up the baby's application. (in most cases they require that you apply in person at the acceptance facility, but they have a courier service here that takes them down to the Embassy for us, but it requires a notarized copy of our military IDs). I waited around on post to pick up the money orders for the passport applications, because the post office didn't open until 10am. Then I went over to the ACS building to turn in the applications.
Well, they needed to submit Gideon's no-fee passport with his application (I guess they had to submit my tourist passport, when I applied for a no fee, but I didn't think about it) but we have to submit it to the SOFA people for a stamp too, and we're coming up on our time limit for that, but I need a memorandum from Logan's CO to do that. He got one, but then his command changed, so he has to get a new one. Hopefully, I can get him to get me one this week (preferably today or tomorrow) so I can send both our no-fee passports for the SOFA stamps. The turnaround is supposed to only be 2 weeks, THEN I can send in Gideon's passport application. I would send the passport application first, but it takes 4 weeks, and we need the SOFA stamps first.

Anyways...either way it should be back by September at the latest, unless it gets kicked back for some strange reason.

Sarah!! Yay!!! Hope your trip is fabulous!!!!
Becca...congrats on getting all that taken care of...one more thing to take off your to-do list!!!
Well, we got rain a couple of days last week, and should get some more this week! What a blessing!! It's taken a tiny bit of the edge off the summer heat.
hopefully we should see some discounts for fall within a month or so...if they are gonna offer any!Keeping our fingers crossed for a good Deluxe room discount!!:)

Congrats to all who are vacationing, or about to, or have planned them, or . . . :rotfl:Have a wonderful time!
For you & me both! At least I've got a AAA discount, but a few more bucks saved wouldn't hurt! :rotfl2:

What is the typical AAA discount?
My neighbor was just asking me some WDW questions about a January trip and I told her no discounts are published yet, but AAA has one. I just didn't know how much you could get.
They are staying at an offsite timeshare the week of MLK, but want to book a couple nights on site to get EMH etc.

Hi Snowbirds. I'm having a sad day. A friend of mine said had to say goodbye to her little angel last night. Mason was born with a heart defect. At 2 months old they operated on him and didn't recover. If you could keep his parents and big sister in your prayers it would be appreciated. He was such an adorable little guy and although his time here on earth was short he touched many lives. http://www.gofundme.com/Mason-Goffs-Medical-Bills

Kim - that's just horrible! :sad2: Our neighbors are attending the funeral today of their 12-day old nephew. He was born with an aeortic aneurysm. What a horrible thing for any family to go through. I will say an extra prayer for your friend.

It varies according to resort level (sometimes differing within the Deluxe level), and season. It runs about 10-20%. I was able to get 20% off my October reservation at AKV - staying in a savannah view studio at Jambo House on a cash reservation, not points.

Hi everyone! Well, it's Vacation Bible School this week and I'm already beat after 2 days. I always work with the Games crew and it's been SO hot these past two days...and our staff shirts are black this year! :scared1: Besides VBS, Madison has soccer practice, dance class, flute lessons, and a soccer game. Yikes!

Hot..hot...hot...that's all I can say...the heat index was over 112 yesterday....
Lil'Mermaid...welcome home! LOL...saw you post on Shelly's too,..yep, just pick up anywhere and start chattin'!!!!
Meghan,.you are gonna be worn out girl!!!! How is that sweet lil man?!!!
Week 2 of :teacher: here and it's sloooooow goin'....it'll take a few more days for sure to find our rythm,..get used to our new books and see just how long each subj is gonna take.....we are all so tired down here from the heat! I think the proper word is Languished!!!

This hot, humid weather always reminds me why fall is my favorite time of the year! "Glistening" as soon as you step out the door is so not lady-like! :lmao: I think last night it was still 89 with a heat index in the 90s....at 10:30!!! That's just crazy.

Partly cloudy & hot with sct. showers or thunderstorms. Coverage 40%. High in the middle to upper 90's. Heat index 105-109.
copied right from our weather center! And this is the lowest heat index for this week!!! Lil mermaid...what state are you in? if you dont wanna post that's ok! LOL
