Hey Dawn!! Glad you had an awesome trip!! i am at 10 days myself!!! I can't wait,...I have read a lot of complaints from people saying the new FLE previews are messing up the crowd predictions for MK days, but whatever!! It'll be somewhere else for them to go I guess!!!!

Hope those of you who are dealing with Sandy's aftermath are okay and have power!!! I know after big ones here, we are without power for a long time!

Honestly, I don't think it is the FLE previews that are messing with the crowd calendars. A LOT of schools are moving to the "balanced calendar" that gives them two weeks off in October. This was our first year with it. I think THAT is what is messing up the crowd predictions. We talked to quite a few CMs that told us they had talked with a lot of people on that balanced calendar.

I think once the FLE is open, we'll get a better idea of the impacts crowd-wise, but I think I'd be more curious as to what the balanced calendars are doing. I'm not sure there will be a true "slow time" at Disney anymore. But, as long as you go prepared and utilize EMH and Fast Passes, and of course patience I think people can still have a great time.

I agree,..and I still think the week I am going is a good one! I know Veterans Day made a 3 day weekend at the beginning, but most schools are not out the week before Tday...so we have that on our side,...

What a week! We finally got our power back on Wednesday at 8pm which was perfect timing since I was scheduled for a minor outpatient procedure yesterday at 6:30am! Phew! There are still many people in worse situations because of Sandy so I am very, very thankful that we made it through unscathed.

8 DAYS!!!!!


As y'all know, I am OCD about cleaning my house before we leave,...also, I am ending a school semester and prepping to decorate for Christmas, so it's just always a good time to do a massive clean around here. So!! upstairs, the Bonus room and school room are cleaned and organized and Luggage & Disney bag full of travel stuff is in the upstairs hall ready to load!!
Living room and foyer got a quick clean yesterday,..have to get the kids onto the blinds in the living room..those get so dusty so dang quick!!! I hate that! So,...I have errands to do in town and then it's back here for cleaning my bedroom and get the kids on theirs...gotta dust the rooms and vacuum...they have kept them pretty much picked up from the last time we deep cleaned!! They are definitely getting older~makes me kinda sad!!! We have to winterize and cover the pool this week,.& Mike has to clean/organize the garage. We have things for our business (home building) that sometimes creep into our garage that need to not live here...they live at the office and I think their visit is over! So,..that's what we will work on this weekend....also, I am going to decorate for Christmas on the inside of the house next week...we come back on the Sat night before Thanksgiving, the boys have school on Mon and Tues and then we are going to do Thanksgiving with friends so we wont be here to chill out and drag out the Christmas boxes.
Also, my mom is house sitting for me, so it'll be nice for her to enjoy our tree...she hasn't put one up at her place for the last few years because we don't go up there for the holidays anymore~She just comes here when she can. We will do lights and outside decorations the weekend after Tday...
And you all know.....when you get back from vacation you want to chill out!! I don't want to have to think about putting up the tree when I get home. This is going to be a time for us to focus on making our gifts for friends and family and just letting December be about the Lord...and our DS who will turn 17 at the beginning of the month!!
I can't believe I have a 17 year old kid....geez, I was just 17......and my Mother got married at 17! I was much older and wiser than she was,...so I waited until I was 19, almost 20!

I hope everyone who has been in Hurricane Sandy's path is okay, and I'm thinking of you. We had strong winds and rain here but otherwise, we were fine.

I'm off to see the touring version of Beauty and the Beast tonight with my best friend. It'll be my friend's first time going to the theatre, so I'm waiting to see what she thinks!

We are having a busy weekend - DH is working a lot - 2 Madonna concerts, Paige has dance, Sarah has a birthday party, and I am working in a multi-vendor shopping extravaganza (I sell Pampered Chef) on Sunday. I've got a lot to do for that, but I'm being lazy tonight.

Hey girls!! Just so you know:



7 WEEKS/49 DAYS



until Christmas!!!! OH,...and I am at a whopping


4 DAYS!!!!!!


We are so excited!!!! We have put the tree up,..I am going to decorate it today..the kids are cleaning their bedrooms and putting a few Christmas things up in there...then I will just have to clean the bathrooms one last time. I hope to do most of the packing on Thursday... I already told Mike I will not be up late packing on Friday night so they better have it all ready by Thursday at the latest!! It was blazing hot here the last few days again...not like summer heat, but dang...up into the high 80s...so we still can't pack shorts! We did have a small cool front come in, but the nights are 40s and the daytime is still 70s...I was hoping it would be REALLY cold and I could pack today...oh well, I have enough to do without packing today! Thursday is DD's dance day and I work at our office...so that day is gonna be crazy!!!!
Weather for Disney at this point is upper 70s and low 80s,....couple of days are partly cloudy,..next Wed could have a few showers....it's gonna be mega busy on Sat, Sun and Monday, but we know that and are going to Hollywood on Sunday-that's the lowest crowd pred, and the best park on Touring plans, and easy WDW...Monday we are at MK...again, best park..Monday evening and Thursday are the two MVMCP we are tossing around..I always go on Thursday, but the kids reaaaaaally want to do Monday. what do you think? We are going to be there Monday anyway, and can go to the resort after lunch and chill out for an hour or two, then go back around 3:30 or 4 and stay till midnight...it kind of sounds exciting doesn't it?!! Or Thursday we will swim/laundry in the morning, go to DTD to shop & eat lunch, and go to the party then....what would you do & why? Just curious...I checked the weather and both days look pretty good...Thur has more clouds but neither say rain. And both evenings are about the same temp. wise..

Shawna - I love how you put Christmas countdown first! I'd be more excited about the 4 DAYS!!!

You'll be happy when you get home and your tree is up already! My DH put the lights on the roof this weekend (NO they will NOT be lit until after Thanksgiving). Have to do that when it's nice out!

As for MVMCP - I would bet Monday would be less crowded, but there's no way to know for sure. I'd go on the day that you think you can feel not rushed, and when the next day isn't a rope drop planned morning. So I would consider what you plan to do the day after too.
I wish I was going to a Christmas party again! The Halloween one was so fun!

I have slow mornings following each party!!! I know...no help there!!! LOL!!! I got the tree up and the inside of the house is decorated and ready!! I will do the outside when Thanksgiving is past,...and Mike will hang lights that weekend...I think I need new ones and I dont want to take time to deal with that this week! I only have my bedroom left to dust and clean! I cleaned out my closet yesterday and we went and got a few new tees for me...also, got some new lounge pants and a new robe! Not sure where my robe or warm lounge pants from last year are hiding, but I think they are gone for good...anywhoo...working on my room tomorrow and will put the luggage in here and start packing up toiletries and such.
We are watching the news and on the edge of our seats!!!! Sheree...did your friend get reelected as judge?
Also, if you are my friend on FB, I don't usually post anything about being gone on vacation....

Still waiting on the election results - it's my boss (the judge) so I really need her to win. I can't work for someone who ran against her - well I won't. I really don't think she will lose, but I'm not seeing any results posted yet. Polls just closed less than an hour ago. Might stay up a bit to see.

Well - I tried to help you! Why don't you ask the kids? Maybe they can come up with a good reason to pick one over the other!!

Okay...house is cleaned, ds16 has been to dr for a sinus infection,.so that'll be getting medicated!! LOL....house is decorated inside and boxes in attic....closets cleaned....clothes dropped at Goodwill....I am packing phase 1!!!!!!! Church tonight, dance day for dd tomorrow while I work at the office.....a few groceries to get now for Tday and I am ready!!!!!!!
