Yay for you:cheer2: That is great. I can't wait to see it too. 12 days... Wait, let me say that again, 12 days

WOW!! You are sooo close!! I forget, are you an early packer or a last minute gal?! LOL!! I am at 23 days today and I have the toiletries/some electronics ready to go!

I'm kind of in the middle. I pulled out the big suitcase and threw a few things in (halloween treats for the kids, costumes, light sticks. That is it so far. I'll start the real packing next week. I like to wait until the weather forecast is a little closer so it may be more acurate. Right now it looks super hot there but when I look farther it gets cooler as I get closer.

it's gonna be hot! LOL!! this is our 3rd trip the week before Thanksgiving and it's pretty hot then~like upper 70s and a couple of days each time we are in the 80s...both times I have been in October it was hot the first time and hotter the 2nd!:rotfl2: Hopefully it'll be 'pleasantly perfect'!!!

When is your trip, Becca?

The goal was Jan 2-12. We'll see. I'm starting to think that maybe we should postpone it until later in the year, because we're looking at taking time for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Logan wants to do a long weekend for his birthday. The Hobbit movie comes out ON his birthday, and he's never gone to see a movie at midnight before, so we figured we'd take Gideon to Grandma's for the evening. Hopefully, he'll be over his jet lag by then, so my Mom can still sleep, because she'll have work in the morning.

All those tough decisions! All of that unknowing stresses me out! My head was swimming with these promises of discounts and I jumped on the discount today for our January trip. The poor CM said she didn't even know what it was called or what type of discount it was giving, she just quoted whatever the computer said. Weird!! We technically ended up paying about $400 for the dining plan for 5 people (4 of those are Disney adults) for 8 nights. It's not Free Dining, but it's pretty darn close to me!
I'm glad you could take advantage of it! I'm happy that I have some decent options, but I hate deciding. I think what bothers me most is not booking. I probably should just go ahead and book something, but DH is being weird about it. Obviously, we're far enough out that we wouldn't really be committing to much, but he's still weird about it.

Oh my gosh Becca and Jenny - I don't know how to figure that math out anymore! Since we bought DVC, I don't book packages, so free dining isn't an option. It does give us the freedom to do whatever we want about dining, tickets.

Becca - have you thought about not getting the dining plan at all? Just pay OOP and eat whatever you want. You could use a room discount and not have to worry about tickets - still get military discount, I assume. Good luck figuring it out!

This will be our first trip without DDP in ages! I'm really excited about it. We have a few hundred $$ in gift cards and visa rewards, so we will basically charge to our room and pay it all off with those. With food and wine, I didn't book many ADRs either (only 3) and will just eat our way around world showcase.
Doing a room only, military tickets, and no dining plan has been my plan for a while, but Free Dining throws a wrench into it, because I'm thinking that financially we should stay in a Moderate, and Free Dining is a better deal at a Moderate. I know DH would LOVE it if we were on the dining plan again, but I'm not sure which version of the trip would work out better for us.

We just changed our pre-cruise hotel from near the airport to Pop Century.

Who is going to be there the same time we are? Shoot, was it Kim?

Anyway, :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I love how my husband keeps claiming he's not a Disney fan, but then... I told him "hey, there appears to be discounts for Disney hotels. Do you want to stay where we're at or do you want me to see what kind of price we can get?" The answer was to see what price. Well, Pop Century came in $10 cheaper :scratchin and All Star Sports came in $30 cheaper... but he decided we should stay on property and definitely at Pop Century.

Plus it looks like I can return our car, from National, on property, then catch the DCL bus to the ship!
He either likes Disney....or he loves you loving Disney.

Hello everyone! Things have gotten little crazy around here now. We are starting to get into "Holiday Mode" at work. Not too crazy yet, but definately getting there. So Thanksgiving is about 5 weeks away (if I can count correct). Just over 9 weeks til my brothers wedding (Dec. 22, which I am doing all the planning for. Making invites, programs, decorations) then Christmas. On top of all that, just a mere 79 days til I'm on my way to Disney!!!!!! It will be so nice to have that trip after all this craziness.

Oh add to that, my parents are getting all new flooring in the house. So we have contractors and other odd people over almost every other day to take measurements of some sort.

Also at some point this week I have to figure out how to make my Halloween costume for Sunday. The wedding that I stood up in is having a Halloween reception, and of course I've waited til the last minute to figure out my costume. I'm going to be a Red Solo Cup. It's a nickname that actually started in Florida, so we figured it fit. At this point I just want to buy a huge fake ring and wear my Aaron Rodgers jersey and say I'm his wife....much less stress to figure out that outfit. ;)

Oh well, here's hoping that the coffee :coffee: has kicked in for the next 15 hours! Have a great week everyone!!

Thanks for the perspective! 5 weeks until Thanksgiving makes it seem a lot closer. I think once we're back in the States everything will go super fast, but right now my days are painfully slow.

I was pretty bummed yesterday, because I fell in love with this one property in Manhattan, KS over the past week or so. I've been in contact with the management company, and trying to arrange for my brother to go see it for me. Well, yesterday morning I tried to pull up the listing again to look at something, and it wasn't there anymore. I get that they couldn't hold it for me, but the guy I was in contact with didn't even mention that someone else was interested in it. We have plenty of other options, but I was really excited about that one. It was a duplex with a full finished walkout basement. 4 bedrooms. Hardwoods on the main floor and carpet in most of the bedrooms and in the basement. Working fireplace. The area was great. Kind of secluded subdivision, but within walking distance to a grocery store and some restaurants. I'm sure it had some drawbacks, and we'll find something else, but I was already furnishing it in my mind!
I sent out another email to double check that it actually got rented, because they seem to have done some updates on some of the other listings yesterday. It could have gotten deleted by accident.

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a lovely fall. The leaves are changing here, so the mountains are starting to look really beautiful.

Leaves are changing here, too. It's so beautiful this time of year.

Sorry about the property, Becca :( Hopefully it was just accidentally deleted.

Looks like we are going to take a big family trip to Disney next October. I'm super excited about it. It will be my parents, sister, BIL, niece, nephew, brother, SIL and of course my happy family of four. I am hoping to be able to book a great bounce back while we are down in December :) I need to start saving my pennies now. Matt will never stay off the monorail and the price tag keeps getting bigger and bigger.

My sweet hubby leaves tomorrow for a four week training. We are all dreading it. He hates to be away from the boys for so long. We are going to visit him but it doesn't keep us from missing him :(

Hey girls!! Becca~sorry about the disappointment, but you will find something else you love!!
Mindy~How cool for a family trip!! You are the head planner I presume?!!
Sheree~I hope you are having a relaxing drive and you aren't too bummed!
Well, I am at

20 DAYS!!!!!:yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2::wizard:

Have my Mickey Mail!!..Toiletries are all bought! Except a travel size hairspray and root lifter! LOL...gotta have those two! I would rather have a travel size instead of the whole container..but anyway...everything else is ready in that department.
Went to the bank Friday and got my cash for tips!! I also got cash for the restaurants that have the soup we get!! Since it's not on the ddp anymore, we always have to pay for soup and do our tips. So,...I have all that ready and little envelopes out...just need to divide it up. I have to get out my VB travel backpack today and see how it's gonna work with my new camera, since it's a bulkier camera than I have had before. If it doesn't work, I like the new VB mailbag..in Ribbons!!http://www.verabradley.com/product/...iantId/176951/pc/638/c/0/sc/883/p/1001724.uts

Bathing suits are packed and sometime this week we will be cleaning the pool again and reshocking it one more time,..then covering her up for another season!!
Kids got their progress reports Friday...both boys had all As!!! We were very :yay::yay: for them about that!! I am just so proud of both of them!

Becca - I'm sorry about the disappointment, must be a huge bummer! As Mindy mentioned, hopefully it was an accident and was deleted.
Mindy - Congrats on the trip!
Sheree - I hope you had a great time and am looking forward to hearing all about it.
Disney Mommy 3 - Congrats to your boys! Not too much longer until your trip :) You sound like me, organizing the envelopes!

yeah,..I am a little be excessive in my planning! LOL!!

single digit dance here:banana::banana: 9 days til our trip. I pulled out some of the summer clothes but the weather keeps changing on me. When I looked 2 days ago it said 80-85 every day...now it says 70-74. That is a big difference in terms of shorts vs capris for me. I am gonig to try to pack light since we have a washer/dryer in our villa:lmao: yea, we'll see how that goes.

My only last minute decision is whether to stay at a hotel near the airport the night before our trip. Our flight WAS at 610am out of Atlantic City airport which is like 1 hour and 40 minutes from our house. The time was changed to 710 so now since I have an extra hour, I am conflicted. It is a really tiny airport with easy parking so we probably don't have to be there til 6. If we leave from here I would want to leave by 415am which means getting up at 330. Tough decisions I know.

I know...we did that the last two times....I think we are just going to have get up and leave here around 5 this time,..if it were earlier we would do the hotel...but I will be up by then anyway from excitement!!!! YIPPEE for your single digits!!!!!!

We are home! Mostly unpacked - the good thing about the villa was the laundry in the room - I thought I packed light, but not really. It's nice to have mostly clean clothes when we got home though!

Andrea - yay for single digits!!

Shawna - you are too funny with your organization! This trip I totally forgot about planning for tips for mousekeeping (in the villa they didn't come every day), but I did remember to leave them the tips at least! For meals we decided to charge most everything to the room and we only had a couple ADRs for TS to worry about.

I hope you guys have good weather - It was really warm when we were there - mid 80s and even 93 one day! Great for pool time! It felt so good!!

Mindy - I hope you don't miss your hubby too much! That's got to be tough! October seems to be a pretty good time to visit WDW - weather is still good, but not too humid. Although I will say the crowds were bigger than I expected. Definitely NOT the 3s and 4s they predicted. It wasn't like Spring Break busy, but still crowded.

They did have some good bounceback offers in our room at AKV. I think it was like $2800 for a family of 4 for 6 nights at Wildnerness or AKL? Not sure off the top of my head. I know I took a picture of the flyer though!!

That IS a good deal. I hope they extend the dates to include early October. :goodvibes

Your family trip sounds fun! I hate it when hubbys have to leave. I hope the time flies and he's home again soon!

I'm starting to think that maybe that property disappearing was for the best. I've never actually gotten to go house shopping before. When I was in college, I pretty much went with whichever place I could get for the cheapest. I went to look, but that was mostly to make sure it had walls. When we moved to Missouri, there were hardly any options, we found a place online, and I went to look, then sign the lease. For Korea, I wasn't even here. Logan had to sign the lease before I came over.
If I pick a place without seeing it myself, I may end up missing out on something. People are terrible at taking photos of houses, and some of the listings don't have pictures at all, or have posted insanely old pictures.

In other news, my Papa (Dad's dad) passed away last night. It's amazing that he stuck around for so long (they gave him 10 days back in July). I'm really happy that I went back again to see him when I did, because we wouldn't have gotten back in time.

I'm just so ready for this year to be over. I've lost 2 grandfathers, my parents got divorced, and now I have to go through my 4th move in 3 1/2 years.
I haven't even gotten a Disney trip to soften the blows!

At least Christmas should be fun this year. I could use a little holiday cheer.

Oh gosh Becca! I am sorry! This has been a rough year for you!!! My parents got divorced when I was 26 or 27...kinda weird...had expected it for years, but it's still uncomfortable and strange no matter how old you are...Hopefully next year will be fantastic for you!!!!

Sheree...the last two years we have been this same week and both times it was upper 70s and a couple of days in the 80s...nights are cooler, but it's definitely shorts and tee shirt weather...
