Thank you everyone for your prayers. After 99 years my grandma was finally called Home....she gets to actually hug Jesus!! It was peaceful and calm.

So sorry for your loss. I'm glad it was peaceful. May your memories comfort you and your family.

We are hoping to do whale watching and I think it was going to be in Juneau so I'll have to look those guys up.

Hello girls.......




2 MONTHS TIL DISNEY!!!!!!!!


Tomorrow is actucally 60 days, but 2 months is today...We can't wait!! In other news,..y'all know we put our oldest in a private Christian school last year,..and I still homeschool the other two. Well, my middle one, ds13 is starting tomorrow--but part time. They do the block schedule,but the days are rotated~ and he will go on B days.We are sending him for Science and Math;he is already doing Algebra I and that's what the Freshman are scheduled for...we were already planning to send him full time next year and didn't want him to repeat ALG I They offer Alg I for 8th graders as an Honors class, so we went last week for him to check it out. He is also super interested in Science...y'all know what a LEGO freak he has always been, and Sci and Math are just his thing..so, he is really into that and this is a great opportunity for him to get a real High School level Science teacher, and a math teacher! So,..he will be going with DS16 every other day! The other stuff we will still do here, but that will be things that I am into,...Like English and History!!!!
He was a little apprehensive when we met with the Admin last week~he has never been to school and he was all nerves! But, when we got through speaking with her, he was better and looking forward to his Shadow Day. They allow you to come one day and be paired with a student that will be in their classes. He shadowed him all day and kind of learned how things like bell schedule, lunches and all that goes....He LOVED it!!!!! So, all that to say, if you could remember to pray for my little guy tomorrow on his first real day I would appreciate it!!!

I'm happy for your son - I'm sure having that high level math and science will be perfect for him. kind of a nice way to ease into the high school stuff by going part time!

Hope everyone is well. A friend and I went to see Madonna in concert last night. She puts on quite a show, it really was spectacular. I'm glad I saw her, but wouldn't go see her again.

Well, he seemed pretty excited this morning when he left. And he actually was happy about me taking his picture for his first day! Then I got one of both boys! it was sooo cute! If I ever remember how to upload pics from my new camera I will have to post it...super cute, those boys!!!

Madonna is coming here for 2 nights in November - DH will be working at the concerts. I don't think he's much of a fan though!

And in further news - if you like Festival of the Lion King - make sure you see it on your next trip. It might be going away in 2013 according to Stitch kingdom

We have had to change our Hilton Head plans a bit. Paige has a dance competition scheduled for 3/9 and 3/10. We thought the studio would change it since it's the first weekend of spring break for a lot of schools around here, but they decided not to. So we have to alter our travel plans and we rebooked for starting on 3/11 (not sure how we'll get there that quick!) for one less night, but in a 2 BR instead of a 1BR!! I'm psyched about that part. We had planned to drive down, stop in Asheville NC and visit my college roommate for a day and then go to HHI. Now I think we'll stop in Asheville on the way home, and spend a little less time there.

Sheree - I'm sorry you've had to change your plans That's a bit of a bummer.

Madonna puts on quite a show, I will give her that. The concert is a spectacle and I'm glad I saw it, but I wouldn't see her again. There was quite a bit of complaining, as the show was due to start at 8, and she didn't come on until 10:20 pm. Everyone I have talked to who went all commented on her language (I'm no prude, lol, and even I raised an eyebrow), and some of the content in the show. I am glad I went.

Sheree- Bummer about having to rearrange your trip. It's a shame they don't keep the same schedule as the schools.

I'd hope that they would move FOTLK over to Africa....it would make more sense there anyways!!! It wouldn't be the first time Disney moved a theater for an expansion. The Beauty and the Beast theater at DHS used to be where Sunset Blvd now begins. When they expanded to make way for Tot and RNRC, they moved the theater after Sunset Blvd opened. I think FOTLK is one of the best shows Disney has ever done...it gives me goosebumps!!!

Well, ds had a great first day!! He is home today, so we will do his homework for yesterday this afternoon...not much to do, but a little. He really enjoyed his classes. I did get tickled at his comments. One thing in particular that kept bothering him--he said, man, those 8th graders (like he is not one of them) sure do talk A LOT!!!! He said this several times. Then he even said late, Those 8th grade kids are such babies--our computer teacher had told them if they were quiet and got their work done correctly she would give them a piece of candy. That totally threw him for a loop I think! LOL...He is so used to school being done differently here,...and the kids at church his age are all pretty mature for their age, so all that yacky yacky is something new for him....and he's a pretty quiet kid so that may be something he just has to learn to block out and ignore.
We are in the 50s today!!! 59 & counting.....

Shawna- Glad to hear that he had a great day! I'm a total non stop talker, but in class, I was very quiet. I always got mad at the kids (even in elem. school) that talked to much or goofed around. I was at school to learn and they were so annoying!!! Once I was a junior in high school, I was SO over all the HS drama. I enjoyed talking to my teachers more than the kids in my grade (besides my friends). Much more intelligent conversation!!!
