Snow

I love it too but I can understand that people have had enough. My dad hates it as he has to drive to London everyday for work & even when he is home he has to deal with problems with the heating

I can understand how many are fed up with it by now as i'm at home also,
I think my view might be different if i had to go out in it every day.

No offense, Jill, but I think you might be alone in being glad of more snow :rotfl:

It hasn't stopped here yet (I think it has been pretty much non-stop since yesterday evening) but it is getting to the point now where it is impacting on my socail life as well as work - and that is the point where enough is enough :lmao:

No offense taken joh i get your drift:goodvibes

Yeah it's fine when it comes because it's hey isn't it pretty and fun but then it is supposed to disappear in a day or two. Somehow the snow has forgot to turn itself off and is a right pain when it starts to impact lives.

Im so glad Im home from work this week recovering, I only live about 4 miles from where I work and it would be expected of me to walk if I couldnt drive, and our side street is dreadful, its stopped here now and seems to be thawing very fast thank goodness.:)

I am hating the snow. I had the most frightening drive to work this morning.

First a car rolled down a side-road onto the main road and the driver was sounding his horn at me to get out of the way as he had lost control.:scared1:

Secondly, I slid backwards down a hill, narrowly missing several parked cars. I was nearly crying.

Finally got to work to be told we were closing at 1pm. Loads of staff and students hadn't made the journey and the buses were not running.

I am sooooooo fed up with this weather.

that sounds very scary Juliette, i was nearly crying after the school run this morning...i swear ive got that SAD thing :sad2:

 I've been very tearful lately too Nat, it's all to do with this stupid weather.

Feels like i've been stuck indoors forever. The roads where we are (lanes outside of the town) haven't been gritted so it feels like forever since I last went out. :sad2:

Hope you're OK.

We turned down the school road this morning and my husband couldn't stop and it was like slow motion heading towards a parked van. We scrpaed past it and took out our indicator light but thankfully no damage to the van :scared1:

When my DH got out to check the van he went flying and hurt his wrist - I put one leg out of the car but when my foot hit the road I knew there was no way I would stand up so I stayed put! It was sheer black ice

It sooo scary being in a vehicle that you just can't control

Wish i had'nt said anything now you've all had a rotten day one way or another :sad2:

How are you feeling now, have you perked up now.:)

I feel better than i did this morning, i wont really feel better till we get some sunshine i think ;)
Sorry to hear you are down in the dumps as well, seems like a national pastime at the moment!

:) I only like snow if I am looking at it through a window.;) I have a couple of friends who love it and drag out their sledges as soon as they see it and they're my age.:rotfl: I am an old misery - all I see is inconvenience.:rotfl:

I'm not even sure it's the weather. I think it's the time of year. January is such an anti-climax after Christmas. Then again, if you have SAD, can you get prescribed a dose of Orlando?;)

I'm another who's fed up of the snow now.

It was fantastic when it first fell, I've never seen snow like it before, so it was great to see and get to play out in. But, since having to trek through it to work on the first morning of down-fall it's just gotten worse from there.

Car journeys have been scary and it's causing chaos on the roads with other drivers too. Not to mention the impact it's having on industry in general. It was hard enough with the recession, but adding the snow too has made it even worse :sad1:

Rant over.

I was just saying to DH last night that I don't know if I could cope back at home in the UK over the winter now. I can't stand the cold, hate wearing big thick coats, would be scared to go out walking for fear of fallen all the time, wouldn't want to take my car out of the garage for fear of someone bashing into me and all the hassle it causes.:sad2:

Hope there is a big thaw for you all real soon so everything can get back to some normality.
