Snow to 80 in 8 days–A spoonful of Holiday Cheer (2/5 update Ch 36 - Final Thoughts)

Mighty impressive touring, my friend. TSMM, RnRC, ToT, and then back to RnRC....I did not see that last one coming.

I don't know what happened to that plush hotel. It was simply lovely the last time I was there.

I see that Jenbear was one of the big winners of this round, but what's her total?
She is Jen in the list, just above Rosie. Up until this round I only had one Jen participating, but jenb1023 jumped in this round for the first time, and did quite well I thought, so I added her in using her full DISname since I was already using Jen.

One thing you can count on is multiple rides on RnR and EE anytime we are at Disney! Space, Splash, Big Thunder, Dinosaur, Kali, Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin' will also get multiple rides when we can, but RnR and EE are definites! Of course the water rides will definitely get more of our attention in a couple of weeks with the heat too. :rotfl:

Alison loves coasters to, so she is normally right there with us. This trip once she breeched the "sleeping in instead of rope drop" barrier it was easier for her to continue down that path. She handles the crowds and things better when she's had more sleep. When we go back in a couple of weeks it will probably be so hot, she will do rope drops with us knowing it is cooler and we will be back at the room during the hottest parts of the day and she can catch up on her sleep with those wonderful afternoon naps!!! :cloud9:

Loved the thumbs up tributes Marv! And the way you described ToT was hilarious :lmao: Great ride photos.

I see that Jenbear was one of the big winners of this round, but what's her total?

Are you trying to spark a rivalry here Glenn? ;) Don't you worry, I'm still well behind on your total. Kathy did well this round too!

Marv, did you give me a bonus point for saying how amazing you are at TSM??

still trying to get through yours...will finish it tomorrow

and i still have to do replies on mine.
:surfweb:

Thank you!!! I am happy with my 3 points!
I often wish my name was a little more unique. When I was in college, there were 22 or 24 girls in our wing and 5 were named Jen!

We had given Matthew our tickets and as soon as he exited the ride he headed back over to TSMM to get a second set of FPs for later since our window was open again. We knew when DW arrived those precious FPs would probably be her only way to experience TSMM, so we opted for another set there instead of the ones we often get next for RnR. As we waited for Matt's return, we browsed around the dump shop and I saw something that reminded me of my dear DISfriend Kathy, whose wonderful husband Grumpy Romeo Mark is often found modeling every type of hat imaginable in the gift shops. I just had to give this one a try as a tribute to the two of them (along with another thumbs up for Jenbear).....

And yes, I knew it was on sideways but I liked that side of the hat better than the front although it has some wires in it that made it uncomfortable wearing it this way. By this time Matt had returned with the TSMM FPs and he decided he needed a similar picture. We told him about someone else we saw who also had the long rocker hair wig on and he went for the full effect....

Coming Up…..

Chapter 21 – DHS – Our Day Continues

Awesome update my friend. Great job in telling the stories of RnR (a ride I refuse to do ever again) and TOT.

But I must admit that I am MOST impressed with the hat picture. I showed it to Romeo and he said two things: :thumbsup2 to Marv...great job and he didn't see that hat last year and will have to search for it this year.

And thank you for thinking of us while at DHS, good friend. Love ya.

Well, I'm so impressed at your cunning and stealth to sneak up to the rope, elbow past everyone else racing to TSM, leap over the chains and knock that little old lady down so you could get your first set of FP:scared1:

But, I guess being a personal friend of Aerosmith gives you some privileges in life:rolleyes1

After your fine stay at TOT, I see you donned proper headgear for a night on the town - I hear you can have dinner out on the patio there...

Of course it is hard to imagine all the grandness of your position, when you clearly have a penchant for REDNECK activities:rolleyes1

A great DHS day so far!!!

I knew I only got 1 lousy point. Glad you got the rides in in swift succession.
Now that you got the majors out of the way - where to?

Very impressive touring! DH and the kids prefer RRC but my favorite is TOT. You're also doing great with the tributes.

Just popping in to say I'm back !!Have 7 scrapbooks to make this week to get in the mail so very little Dis time !! I will catch up on what I missed eventually, but for now Loved your update on ToT !! I'll stick to TSM though !!!Love that ride !!

ahh nuts back in third, but still within striking distance...i think i would have faired much better if i wasnt trying to get the answers back to you on my little phone while trying to remember what the questions were.

ohh well will work on it for next round.

and way to go on your PMS getting up to the front of the line.

(people manuevering skills)

but on the bright side still ahead of glenn

We already have a rivalry....on TSMM!

That's true but I feel like I don't have to compete right now because you aren't going back this year.

No, I saw that you did really well this round, so wondered what your total was. I guess I'm more used to seeing your name as "Jenbear" than "Jen".

Fair enough. I get confused sometimes too. I know there's a couple other Jen's here too.

Rockin' Marv! You get private concerts and tour fine hotels.:scared1:
I'm really enjoying your DHS update!

Excellent work getting a spot by the rope! But no pre-show? That's just sooooo Universal Studios.
Thanks! The kids are asking about maybe going for a day to US this trip, but now you've got me worried with THAT comment. No pre-show at DHS was bad enough.... :confused3
I think I'm getting worse at this prediction game as I go. Clearly my crystal ball is defective.
When it comes to my TR, you might be better off with the Magic 8 ball. :upsidedow
Pictures won't load today, so I'll have to assume that my "tribute picture" is something really cool. I'll try to reload the page later when my internet is not so sucky.
It was the Hollywood Tower sign you used for the letter "T" in your contest. I didn't have a clue on that one when I left for my trip, but when I saw it I recognized it. I took the picture with my phone and sent it to you via text message, but now that I know you really don't get text, I'm betting you never got it and gave me credit.... :guilty:
Loved the story element to the update- nice work!
Trying to learn from you and Glenn so my TR is more interesting and tantalizing!!! Next step, an update using rhyme....... :woohoo:
Great that the standby lines weren't so bad- nor hte single rider lines. Good logistical playout there, even though I said you'd go back to TSMM after ToT.
Only one person appears to be keeping up with my tendencies well enough to get that one correct. I think I need to go back and give them some extra bonus points....
And what is WITH me consistently coming in 3rd for the rounds, yet remaining in 4th place?? I just don't get that. And just to give you grief today, I'm going back to check my answers vs. what was told in the story... I'm feeling rather Magdalene-ish today. :lmao:
Yeah, she sure has been whiny lately...... :sad2:
Great morning so far, Marvatastic. (Bank that one for next time...)
Good one. Definitely one under consideration for a bonus!!! ;)
Loved the thumbs up tributes Marv! And the way you described ToT was hilarious :lmao: Great ride photos.
Thanks, and there are more to come I think. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Marv, did you give me a bonus point for saying how amazing you are at TSM??
I remember thinking about it, so probably....
still trying to get through yours...will finish it tomorrow

and i still have to do replies on mine.
I sure hope you're talking about TR updates......
Thank you!!! I am happy with my 3 points!
I often wish my name was a little more unique. When I was in college, there were 22 or 24 girls in our wing and 5 were named Jen!
I was quite impressed for a first attempt!

Yeah, I guess that is the good part about being "Marv" where I don't see too many others with that name. :rotfl2:
Awesome update my friend. Great job in telling the stories of RnR (a ride I refuse to do ever again) and TOT.
Oh come on, if we ever get to do a DISmeet at Disney you HAVE to ride with me at least once...... :goodvibes
But I must admit that I am MOST impressed with the hat picture. I showed it to Romeo and he said two things: :thumbsup2 to Marv...great job and he didn't see that hat last year and will have to search for it this year.

Glad Romeo liked the hat pic! You know I would be thinking of you while I was there. I spent the whole time worried what you and Rosie were doing on my TR while I was gone....... :scared1:

And thanks so much for the kind words!!!
Well, I'm so impressed at your cunning and stealth to sneak up to the rope, elbow past everyone else racing to TSM, leap over the chains and knock that little old lady down so you could get your first set of FP
I thought I left that part OUT of the update???
But, I guess being a personal friend of Aerosmith gives you some privileges in life

Of course it is hard to imagine all the grandness of your position, when you clearly have a penchant for REDNECK activities
It takes all types of fans to help a band make it to the top.......
A great DHS day so far!!!

I knew I only got 1 lousy point.
If you had only been more self absorbed like so many others on here and guessed yourself for the first tribute of the day......
Glad you got the rides in in swift succession.
Now that you got the majors out of the way - where to?
Inquiring minds want to know.....
Very impressive touring! DH and the kids prefer RRC but my favorite is TOT. You're also doing great with the tributes.
Thanks! Unfortunately I don't know enough about all my readers to do a tribute for each of them, but if it is any consolation we did "Laissez les bon temps Rouler!!!"
Just popping in to say I'm back !!Have 7 scrapbooks to make this week to get in the mail so very little Dis time !! I will catch up on what I missed eventually, but for now Loved your update on ToT !! I'll stick to TSM though !!!Love that ride !!
Thrill seeker!!!

I knew that part would make you happy! And hey, at least you were able to GET some answers in, even with the handicap.

(glad you explained the PMS acronym......)
But I know you're nervous

, 'cause you see me gaining on you.
:lmao:
Rockin' Marv! You get private concerts and tour fine hotels.:scared1:
I'm really enjoying your DHS update!
Thanks and just remember, it's not what you know but who you know that counts! (Now if I can just meet some of those people.........)

Yeah, I guess that is the good part about being "Marv" where I don't see too many others with that name. :rotfl2:

I know only one other "Marv".... and here is my "You know you are from a small town when..." story. One of my good friends, and bridesmaid, has an older half-brother named Marvin. Marvin graduated high school with my husband. Marvin also was married to my husband's first wife. So yes, my husband's ex-wife's husband's sister was in our wedding

You, however, are my favorite "Marv" :flower3: the other one is now ex-husband #2 for DH's ex

Marv you would stand out from the crowd even with a common name! :thumbsup2 And actually, my DH's favorite uncle is named Marv!

That is funny! Tanya - your TR is on my list to get caught up on. My DH has kidney issues so your signature always stands out to me. So glad you are doing well with your transplant!!!!

So you're saying I'm your favorite purely by default..... :sad2:

For a newbie to entering my contests, you sure are learning quick about sucking up to try and earn bonus points!!! :rotfl:
That is funny!
Well it would be, but I think I got lost somewhere in the 15th different twist and turn.....

Hope all is well with your DH. I have to keep reminding my oldest son (the one that is of legal drinking age :rolleyes1) to take care of his. He is a major drama-queen and I can't imagine him having to go through all that I did. Just yesterday he was whining about how miserable it was to have to go get a TB test. :sad2:

So you're saying I'm your favorite purely by default..... :sad2:

Weeeell, you Could look at it that way  or you could look at it as you have single handedly redeemed the name of Marvin. Now when I hear that name I think of you :) instead of him

Well it would be, but I think I got lost somewhere in the 15th different twist and turn.....

Ohh...I could add a lot of twists and turns to small town living. What is funny is my husband's family is kind of big - or at least it seems that way since they all still live right around here. And a lot of them have been married more than once  so my kids have gotten into the habit of just asking "are we related to them" whenever they come across someone new. Unfortunately, more often than not, through marriages, divorces, and re-marriages, we can make a connection to a whole bunch of people.

Add to that, my family has lived in the same school district forever, and it is a rural area with a lot of farm families, you see the same family names for generations. Mark's date to prom his Jr. year was a girl in his graduating class, her mother was in my graduating class, and her grandfather was in my mother's graduating class... <insert IASW theme music here :rolleyes1>
