Snow Play Area ?

I read somewhere that there is a snow play area in Hollywood Studios. It was named Oaken's area I think.
Has anyone experienced this?

Fun place.
Our local zoo brought in snow for Winter in July and it was fun for the kids.

Yes in a back room off the store, have to walk through it to get there

The snow is more like small ice chunks. Take a photopass photo there they add Anna and Elsa!

Wandering oakens. Very cute but be warned there is a line to get in. I think we waited half an hour. Not the end of the world but just didn't know to expect it.

It is mostly ice, but the kids enjoy it. It was about a 30 minute wait for us too. We went last week before the Thanksgiving crowds arrived.

Yes it's ice chips. My son had a ball. We arrived at Rope drop- rode TSMM and then headed over. There was only one other little kid playing when we got there before 10 (this was also in October...)

We went earlier this week after the last Frozen show, so around 8:30. We walked in. It's mostly packed down ice and very slippery. DS2 had a blast and cried when out time is up. Irony is both my kids hate playing in the snow at home.

The snow reminds me of a big giant snow cone in texture and consistency. Best times to visit are first thing near park opening and last hour. The first page of my frozen tips thread has pictures and tips.

I would love to know as well! We'll be there the first week of February and this looks so fun! We're Floridians so we never get to experience snow.

The official word on the Disney Blog was that Oaken's would be opened through the holidays. Hopefully, they will extend past then. It' a big hit!

-Has it's own queue
-A set number of people are allowed in this area for a certain amount of time. After that time and people are cleared, the area is raked, then people are allowed inside.

Aurasma Picture and Photopass Magic Shot Area

Photo Opportunities:
Aurasma:
-There are two Aurasma App opportunities (Trolls and Sven).
-The app needs to be downloaded for the photo opportunity to work.
-You will see a purple swirl and some white dots as it begins to work.
-Touch the blue box that appears
-You will see a character(s) "enter" the scene.
-Take a picture and save it.
Photopass Magic Shot:
-There is one photopass magic shot. (Anna and Elsa)

No more Oaken's back from a trip yesterday and it is gone. It was there just after the first of the year, bummed. We finally remembered gloves! I'm hoping it comes back, maybe?

I know. We were so sad to see it go. We went twice the last weekend it was opened to say goodbye. Frozen Fun is now at DLR. Theirs looks so much better! I hope if it comes back it looks like theirs. Disney Blog recently posted a picture in their not to miss at DLR article.
