Snow or Ice?

We will be driving from Indiana to DW the first couple of weeks of November and am curious as to our chances of running into snow or ice on the way down or the way back. Our dates are the 7th thru the 16th.

I think chances are pretty slim you'd run into snow or ice that early in the season. Of course, last year might have been an exception as we had snow flying by Halloween up here in N.E. . Really, I don't think that should be a big concern as most snow doesn't start until Thanksgiving and after. Most snow in N.E. usually comes in Jan/Feb.

I'm definitely not a weather expert, but I would agree that it seems highly unlikely. I live in your neighboring state to the east, Ohio, and we rarely see any significant snow in November where I live. I think last year might have been an exception, though, so it does happen.

But usually we'll get some flurries or snow late in the month around Thanksgiving, but more often than not it doesn't stick. I would think the further south you go as you drive toward Florida, the less likely you would be to encounter snow or ice that early in the season.

Thank you Brook and Snooz, for your comments. I guess we just must be lucky as one year we got off a cruise to the Bahamas to find that we had a surprise 6 inch snow back home. Would not have been so bad but we had left a new driver at home and were not sure if he would have been able to handle it. All turned out well.

Two years ago we were coming home mid November and literally in front of a storm the whole way. As I was parking the car it started coming down.

Of course, many years when we are at home the weather is just perfect.

You got to take your chances in life. beats dying in a nursing home after a long lingering illness. LOL

If worse gets to worse we could suffer and just add a few days to our package until the roads clear. (smile)
