Snow Day!!!

Not for me - but the kids are off...

I thought I'd post some pics of "The Biggest Winter Storm to hit Chicago in YEARS!" as the news keeps saying.

My house... look at Jack! I made drew him and made him!!! We had him up at Halloween, and added the Santa hat for X-Mas! A three month decoration.

Check out the smooshed bushes!!! All the weight of the snow pushing them down.

Snow Day for the kids - so make 'em shovel!!!

It's a snow day here too! I don't have classes on Fridays anyway, but Marquette cancelled classes. And my sister also has a snow day-we've been in the same district for about 17 years now, and it's the first snow day. Never in my how many years in that district did I get a snow day. Crazy.

It's 70 in North Carolina right now....but seeing as I'm moving to North Dakota in February, I better start thinking about snow!!!!

Yup! My kids have one here too! Even DH's law firm closed! It's pretty bad! The kids got up at 5:00 am to check to see if they had the day off and haven't been back to sleep. The snow was so deep that our Lab wouldn't go out to pee this morning for the longest time. He was so freaked out!!! We finally figured out all we had to do was bribe him to "go potty" for a cookie, that's all it took! Now he's out there playing with the kids having a good old time!

What is up with this weather? It is snowing in Chicago, yet it was 70 here in NY yesterday. It is close to 60 now but it's supposed to drop into like the 40's tonight and be a high of like 38 tomorrow. How can the weather change so quickly!?

Oh and the saddest part...yesterday was the last day of November and the ice cream man was still coming around! Usually he is done before Halloween!!

One of my cats refuses to use a litter box. So every time it snows we have to shovel a path into the yard for him. And he only sticks to that path. He's lucky that he's a cute cat.

I really thought this was going to be a case of the weather guys over reacting.

All of the schools in the area are closed. My DH's office opened at 10. I had to call in since DS didn't have school. They are calling for 10+ inches last I heard, and the wind is gusting to 40mph!

Weird, huh? Earlier this week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday was GORGEOUS! Like phenomenal weather - even still nice at night!!!

Then *POOF* over night we get this.

As of right now, we do not have the accumulation down here (in Mokena) that the northern areas have, but it is still pretty bad out there. My work told me not to come in, but the kids still have school.

We are east of you, near Cleveland. Around 10am today, the wind really picked up...sustained winds about 40mph, gusting near 60mph. Sounds kind of eerie here by Lake Erie. (how corny can I get? )

Anyway, I guess this massive wind is supposed to be bringing in a Low or something, and with that, snow. Yesterday we wore no jackets. This evening we'll need coats. Oh, and our back yard is very, very flooded. We got 2-3 inches of rain last night.

Nice pictures, by the way! And please, everyone do a snow dance for me, so that clinicals gets cancelled NEXT Sunday. Pretty Please!
