Snow day!!!! (Sorta) UPDATED

There is so much snow I haven't seen so much ever!!!

But... The school hasn't said that we are officially off yet. BUT.. A) We doubt our contract bus will turn up today and B) we can't excatly walk due to the distance and it's too thick. So... If I puppy dog eyes my mother I think we can have it off..

We have really thick snow too - i dont ever remember this much!

I decided to walk today as i couldnt be bothered to dig my car out and attempt to get up the hill. We are expecting loads throughout today.

We have just checked the website and we are off!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my sister did a small bootie shake when we heard the news!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention. We will definetly be going out to play in it.. Irony is a cruel mistress isn't it..

Perhaps this year "Stumpy the Snowman" will become a Frosty!!!

Its snowing quite bad here at the moment. Quite deep prob foot and half and its still coming down like a blizzard. Casey's school is shut. It looks really pretty.

Its quite deep here too, completely covered all tips of grass, and still snowing. I haven't seen one car try to leave our close yet, its just too dangerous to drive around here. My two oldest are overjoyed at having to stay home, so I'll be posting snowman pictures later

We have got about 2 inches of snow and although it is snowing the stuff of the ground is melting.

Hope everyone that is off with their children can go out and have some fun. My DDs want me to take their to High Elms golf course for sledging but I'm too chicken to drive

Just got back in after having a fantastic time in the snow, Dbil & girlfriend walked round to ours and we took ds1 out in it for the first time ( he is 2 and a half and its not snowed here properly before in his life time) we built a large snow man, made snow angels, had a massive snowball fight with the neigbours and then next door gave us 2 sledges from when their kids were young and we took turns going down the road it's still snowing now but not as much and we must have at least 5 or 6 inches, it was great to feel like a kid again, sad now as dh has taken my car ( 4wd) to go to work.

Hope everyone else is having fun, i will try and post photos of our snowman later

We went in the snow. Stumpy finally got to become a Frosty!! I managed to roll him around in all the snow we had. It was fun; he's never been so big before!!

We also went down our wood to go and use our sledge which we haven't used since I was about 5! It was fun going on it, although A) We came close to going into the river at the bottom, B) I am glad no one was around there as it would of looked silly seeing a 17 year old on a sledge!! and C) on the way back I had Ice in my boot so I was in a hurry; so much I was hit in the face by every tree branch on the way home!!! Sad thing is.. We couldn't find Winnie the Pooh in our wood..

Managed to throw a lot of snow at my sister.. Also when we went down the wood, I managed to shake the snow of a tree onto everyone that walked by. My sister tries it; she gets it all on her..

Still some snow about, but the snow is out so I could be gone by the afternoon. I will be here till after lunch, then I am off back out. Gotta use the snow up before my cousins get home from school! (suckers!!! )

We have had plenty. The sad thing is DH has been working in Newcastle since Monday and is supposed to be driving home tonight. I told him he couldn't. So he's going to have to stay one more night and drive home during the daylight hours tomorrow. It was kinda hard to convince him since they only had the lightest dusting. But by the time he got anywhere near here the black ice could be really bad...

In the afternoon guys, we decided to make another snowman. Or should I say, Women. I made "Stumpina", and then went in. It was at that point that my sister and cousin came and vandalised the thing by removing the vegatables that were the snowpeople's eyes and nose!! I caught them red handed and told them to put them back.

Sad thing is, when I was making Stumpina's base, it got to a point where I was too feeble to be able to push the thing, so I had to leave her where she was. She and her hubby are now stuck there, looking at each other from afar, never to meet.. Then again, Stumpy was begining to melt anyway, so it's not like she was missing him a lot (I bet a lot of women here are hoping to relate to that.. )

I went in and stayed warm all afternoon; downloading stuff onto my Wii mostly. Did notice that my cousins we throwing snowballs and making a huge pile of snow for some reason.. My other cousin tried making an igloo, but got to 3 parts and then stopped!!!

That was fun. Perhaps if it's icey tomorrow I can get another day off. Perfect way to start 1/2 term!!!
