Can you bring your own snorkeling equipment for use at Castaway Kay? Can rental equipment only be used at designated areas?

you can bring your own snorkeling gear. They require all snorkelers to wear a safety vest, which they supply free of charge if you don't have one. They are made for snorkeling and you blow them up, they basically just keep your head above water.

I snorkled for the first time on Castaway Cay and it was one of the best times I've had in a while!! It was so magical to see all the star fish all over the bottom of the adult beach and then
two stingrays swam with me for a while. I was just overwelmed with the beauty of it all. I think I stayed face down and floating must of the day. I did'nt have to wear a vest, the water is so salty that you float just fine without one. I even had a little fish follow me around that day, named him Spot. He loved posing for his picture to be taken. You will love how clear the water is. It was amazing!! Make sure you don't forget an underwater camera. I bought mine at Wal-Mart, a disposable one, and my pictures are beautiful!!

You must wear a vest (supplied by CC) if you snorkle from the family beach - from the adult beach there is no vest requirment and no lifeguards. I also spent lots of time face down - it's a wonderful experience! I used my own mask and snorkle. Since there is only a gentle current, I did not feel that I needed flippers, which I didn't pack because of their size.

You can rent it when you get there!
