We are big snorkeling fans! Would love to know if there are beaches near the ports where we can just get off the boat and snorkel. Most snorkeling excursions through DCL do not allow for 3 yr olds. I am unfamiliar with the ports.

We are planning on doing XCaret in Coz, but need help with other ports.

Help!!!!

Hi there - all I know about is Key West - there is NO type of swimming, snorkeling, diving within the area of Mallory Square - it is too dangerous tho once upon a time many years ago - it was - if you will email me, I can send you pamplets, etc on Key West activities - my son Michael does quite a bit of diving in Key West and even tho it has changed dramatically over the years, he still enjoys it.

not sure about Key West, but the other two ports are doable for you I think.

In Grand Cayman, once you take the tender turn right on the street and walk about a couple blocks. There is a place you can get in and snorkel. There is no beach right there, but I thought the snorkeling was really good. Saw sea urchins, sea turtle, lots of fish, coral and sponges and a barracuda. The ship will be in your sight and is easy to get to. Drawback is no beach...The rocks are a little slippery so you have to be careful getting in and out.

In Cozumel go to Chanakaab. It is a ten dollar ride in a taxi one way. Ten bucks for those over ten to get in. Snorkeling is excellent there, and they offer other activities that the kids might enjoy.

hope this helps.

In Grand Cayman - we took a taxi to 7 mile beach. $4.00 pp each way, about a 10 minute ride. We asked to be dropped off at the Holiday Inn and had a great day swimming and snorkling. The taxi driver even asked what time we wanted to be picked-up and he was waiting for us when we were done. We easily brought our soft sided cooler with us with drinks and snacks. There is also bar service and food available on the beach from the Holiday Inn.

In Cozumel - we took a taxi to Mr. Sancho's Beach - $15.00 taxi ride each way for 4 of us. Free to enter facility/beach. They do not let you bring in any food/drinks, but everything is very reasonable and the facility is very clean.

Both days were very enjoyable and very easy to get to. Snorkling was a little better in Grand Cayman than in Cozumel.

There is a great guide to snorkeling in Grand Cayman that I highly recommend, which shows where there is great snorkeling in town. THere is a wreck site and there is also Abanks Diving Center right in town. You can rent gear right there if you need too. Check out the guide as it shows many locations

The Magic anchors off the coast of Georgetown at the southwestern corner of the island, and the passengers are tendered in to a dock at downtown Georgetown.
