Sneaking alcohol onto DCL - We need to learn how

Been a rule on the dis since I joined. I have seen quite a few threads get shut down for discussing by passing Disney rules.


WDW has nothing to do with it.

The Dis is not owned by Disney.

You seem invested in enforcing DCL rules. How about this: I will decide whether the rules apply to me or not and it really is not your business. As long as my decisions do not negatively affect other passengers the issue is between me and DCL.

How about this: if I'm in line waiting to get into the cruise terminal and the 60 people in front of me all get caught trying to smuggle in alcohol and take an extra minute each to get their stuff tagged. That means I'm in line for an extra hour that I could be on the ship, so guess what, it does affect others.

With that in mind, I don't like the new alcohol policy and I think DCL did a horrible job with executing it. But it is what it is and I will choose to take my cruise dollars elsewhere.

Are people allowed to bring shampoo, sunscreen, lotion, mouthwash? How often have those leaked on your stuff?

A quart or liter of boose or wine is going to do a lot of wetting damage, then a lesser amount of a thick lotion type .
product.

Not to mention the fact the lotion is not being sumggled onboard.

That's what I thought, also. But, like TheLanes, I can't find it now. Maybe it got "lost" in the transition to the newer board.

First, understand that the overall intent of this thread was to have a little fun and understand that regardless of policy, folks will always push the limits a bit. We are DVC members, stock holders and love just about all things Disney. Those that may try to push the envelope are not alcoholics, criminals and will take the risk of getting caught as their own personal choice. We sailed this past July and will be taking our 10th next July and with this change in policy two of my simple likes have been removed. I like a nice cigar and bourbon. I really liked having a cigar and bourbon on our verandah while the family is getting ready or later at night after dinner. I liked bringing on board a small bottle of Makers to have in the room so that if I wanted a drink on the verandah I would not have to "preplan" getting a drink from a bar. We would buy drinks on the ship and occasionally take one with us when leaving the room which was not hurting DCL relative to our Family spend on board.

Not sure why alcohol other than wine & beer is now banned unless there was a specific incident that drove this change but too much wine or beer can result in more issues than 1 or 2 bourbons

This all said, I may or may not use a listerine bottle or travel sized shampoo containers, but we will continue to sail DCL. May not but that O'Gils t-shirt or beer mug though so that I can have two fingers of Makers Mark on our verandah now for $12.00 a pop.

I hope I'm behind one of you at security when you try to sneak the alcohol through. We were behind a guy on the Magic who was trying to take a baccala onboard after one of our Norway port stops. Drama and hilarity ensued as security attempted to confiscate the large, cellophane wrapped fish. No one wanted to go through security because the baccala drama was so freaking entertaining.
