Sneaking alcohol into MK

LOL :lmao:

Rules are everywhere, not just at Disney. For example, if you drive one mile per hour over the speed limit you are breaking the rules, whoops I mean the law, which is a rule. I'm sure this applies on Disney's sacred grounds as well. Maybe you'll get caught, get a ticket, maybe you won't.

You know... I most often follow the "rules" pretty closely whatever they may be if they apply to me. But some folks on these boards are so perfect and they are so uptight about Disney "rules" they probably even walk funny because they are so stiff after posting.

Just reading such posts makes me want to break the rules, or at least talk about breaking them. :happytv:

Seriously. Everyone (including those with sticks up their patooties) picks and chooses whatever rules they are willing to break. A few miles over the speed limit? No biggie....but it is breaking the law. 25 items in the 20 item checkout at Walmart? There are probably more people lying about their children's ages to get free dining than people bringing alcohol into the MK. If your little snowflake is one day past her 3rd birthday, it's breaking the rule to get free dining.

I always mule about 8 water bottles flavored with crystal light to the parks in a insulated back pack. Spiking them wouldn't be a problem. Security has never opened one of them.
That being said, why do it?:confused3 There are enough places in close proximity to MK to get alcohol. Heck, CR is about a block and half away. Quite honestly MK doesn't appeal to me as a park I even want to be buzzed at. Epcot is where you're supposed to go for a little pick me up!! ;)

I witnessed a guest's water bottle being checked by MK bag security. I couldnt figure out what was going on since I don't drink - but overheard it was about alcohol.

We've done it...DH put a flask of rum in the pocket of his cargo shorts. There were 5 adults (only 4 drinking); we just got cokes and spiked our drinks as needed. Not to get drunk, mind you, just to make MK a little more relaxed with the 10 kids we were dealing with!

Whoops. I accidentally spilled one of the "other" secrets of the men's rooms. I never meant to acknowledge that there are changing tables in there. Sorry, guys.

I KNEW IT! Dang it I just knew it!!! My DH is going to ask who had the loose lips!

Sorry but if one can not go to the MK without a drink there is a much more serious problem here.

Don't be ridiculous. The changing table is an excellent makeshift bar.

Ladies, your husbands don't have the runs. It's MK happy hour.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing:

You are cracking me up! So nice to find someone with a sense of humor about this, who can take it in stride!

There is a very funny website called The Alcoholic's Guide to Disney World. You can Google it.

His take on the topic: "If not being able to cope at Disney World without having a drink makes me an alcoholic then fine, I'm an alcoholic."

As for the MK:
"The guards don't check the contents of water bottles so I suppose it's easy to sneak something in. Is it really worth the risk of getting tossed out though? If you answered "yes" then you're a sicker person than I. My advice:
Don't schedule back-to-back days at the Magic Kingdom."

OP -- tell your friend not to sneak alcohol into the MK! Your friend can more than make up for a dry MK day at Epcot. They have a lot of wonderful beers and some very delicious mixed drinks at Epcot.

Wow, it took longer than I expected for someone to bring up the old "Everyone speeds, so that means we can break EVERY RULE" argument.

I happen to agree with you that all of the above is wrong, and I don't do any of them. And even with that, I do still enjoy a beer or wine or mixed drink from time to time. However, I am not so seeped in alcohol that a day without it would leave me shaking and miserable, and resorting to sneak it in where it is not allowed.

If he gets the booze in and is inappropriate around your daughter,

The fool boozer gets inappropriate around my kids or any others, drunk or sober, he would have alot more to worry about then his drinking problem......

I always find is amzing how people with drinking or *BONGING* or drug issues always think anything they want to do is OK!

Sickos!

Sounds like you drink more than the tiny bottle of kalua I plan on taking for my hot chocolate during the MVMCP...*gasp* you must be an alcoholic!! Last I heard, it's the amount you drink, and the inability to stop drinking that makes one an alcoholic.........not because of the LOCATION you chose to drink.

The posts about breaking rules, I understand....yada yada yada, yeah I plan on breaking a rule...call the MK booze police......but being called an alcoholic?! Again, ridiculous!!!

I am soo sorry.:worship:.......I forgot.......your one of the enligthened ones.....the rules don't apply YOU!........:rotfl:

I repeat......if you need a drink in the MK.........and are willing to show your kids your not able to resist a day without a drink...YOU have a problem!

Ridiculous...no.....your rationization is ridiculous.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth.

Here are a few instance that I have seen over the last couple of years.

During a bag check we saw 2 boys get caught with airline bottles of Grey Goose, they were taken and so were the boys, as they looked under age... On a different trip, We were at Ray's having lunch and we noticed this man pouring something out of a baby bottle into his drink, I thought how strange, Really it never dawned on me:confused:, I said something to DH, he said he is probably mixing a cocktail.... Well about 2 minutes later 2 CM's came out and spoke to the man and he hand over the baby bottle and they were gone, then about 5 minutes they came back and gave the bottle back, stating that they were more than happy to have to bottle washed for him, His poor wife was as red as a tomato, and the kids just hung their heads.

I would go the guilt trip way, but let him know that you will not be touring with him if he decides to do this. This is your vacation too and I would not want to be embarrassed or have my family embarrassed by someone who just seem to be selfish.

I have to agree with you! If a person just has to have booze at MK to have fun, vacation or not, perhaps that person should seek help.

Wow, this is my biggest thread ever :cool1:

Sorry I caused such a stir with my question. Dh has already spoken to our friend and he has agreed that he will not bring anything into MK. Most days we will be park hopping, so he can always grab a drink at another park..or as some folks suggested, he can head to one of the monorail resorts to have a drink if he wishes.

As for the many people implying or outright saying that he is an alcoholic, that is just silly. None of you know anything more of him other than he wanted to bring a flask into an amusement park. I have known him for several years and dh has known him for almost his entire life, and I still do not feel it is my place to pass that judgment. He drinks more than I do, certainly, but his life is also different. He is single and without children, I have a family. The types of fun we have are different most of the time (now like I said earlier in the thread, I enjoy a drink or even many drinks myself at times).

Thanks everyone for your responses though! Oh and I am STILL loling a day later at "MK Happy Hour" in the men's room :lmao::lmao:

But if that happened, the WDW Temperance League would have to be permanently disbanded...

They'll throw a temperance tantrum.

Really, it would give them something new to live for. Instead of posting the same recycled tales of the horrible drunks in Epcot, they could tell us all about the horrible things they've seen people do in Fantasyland after one too many watered-down $12 cocktails.
