Snail Mail Passports Any Good News ?

This is my first post on DIS ( I have been lurking for a few months)
I was just wondering if there are any good news stories from those of you who mailed in your applications.

Any thing shorter than a 45 business day wait.

Most of the good news seems to be from those who applied directly at passport office.

Called this morning and the where processing the ones sent by mail received the 4 of January...

Thank God i'm only leaving in August....

Not sure about passports but I am not relying on Canada post for anything these days - my mom mailed out valentines over 2 weeks ago from Oakville and they still aren't here - takes less time to drive from Oakville to Guelph then it does for Canada post to get anything here!!

My sister was at the Whitby passport office today and she was told that they were caught up and that she should get her passport in 19 days.

Sent mine and DD in ata a Service Canada location January 8th...Nothing Yet

O.K.- Not really any good news from mail-in passports. Now I'm starting to worry about our passports at the bottom of the pile. Sent them in at the end of January.

If I could do it all over.... I never would have mailed them in. Mine (5 of them) were mailed on December 16. 4 of them were returned to me because of errors. My own fault since I forgot the "citizinship from another country".

My passport info is nowhere to be found. It hasn't been returned to me nor is it in their system.

I'm not panicking yet though.

I returned to the passport office directly yesterday and was able to get the boys passports done. I should receive them March 23.

I believe we'll be going back next saturday. we're going to wait one more week to see if they return mine.

I was surprised though that they waited till this week to send me everything back. I'd heard they were working on the ones mailed in January. Mine were sent before Christmas.

Frustrating... however, it's not their fault entirely. I messed up. Which is why I suggest going in person now because they will tell you right there on the spot what needs to be fixed.

Hope you get your passports in time. when do you need them for?

Mailed my daughter's Jan 6/Express Post. Next day delivery.
Still not here.

They did however call her yesterday (she's in Mexico) and left a number to return their call but when I tried on her behalf, they tell you that all Agents are busy and there is no room to hold on the line, so not sure how she is supposed to call back!!!!!

Typical Government system!
