We're planning on bringing a few snack items with us to the parks in our backpack. (It's my understanding that WDW is fairly lenient :rolleyes1 about this).

I'd like to bring stuff that the kids (DD7 and DS4) will eat and enjoy :goodvibes , but also something that won't make them incredibly sick  or overly hyper :hyper: .

I was wondering what kind of snacks others bring with them into the parks. Any suggestions?

Lurking....

We always bring trail mix. It keeps us going for a while.

Our kids did well with the little bags of ritz cracker sandwiches, goldfish, trail mix, and granola bars. We also did some Disney bowls with lids ( the take and toss kind) with cut up grapes, dry cereal etc.

My two year old is a big fan of gummy snacks. I can get her to do any trick for some gummies.

We also bring 100 cal snack packs for us both to enjoy, goldfish, cheerios, trail mix.

If I order her a kid's meal in the park, I snag the Mickey goldfish and the applesauce for later. She never finishes her own meal, thus I hardly buy one.

If you have access to a freezer, we get juicy juice drinks, freeze them and they're a good slushie for the middle of the day. We have a small lunch cooler that I bring two bottles of water in with them.

Ok, so we have been to WDW numerous times before, and I am feeling quite stupid right now. I didn't know that they would allow outside food and stuff. I always thought that it was like going to the movies, you know, no outside food or drinks permitted. Has anyone ever been turned away for taken food in? Sorry don't mean to interupt the current post I am just amazed that they let you do this and I know that our next trip we will do this, at least it will stop me from having to buy the decorated cookies in Frontierland :rotfl: (which I also found at Super Wal-Mart for $1.00 less :headache: )

Both my kids love Slim Jims. We get the 100 pack at Sams Club and take them everywhere. They are small and pack easy (and won't melt)

While not healthy, my kids were amazed that cheese could come in a can and be squirted onto crackers! :scared1: It's something that I wouldn't buy for home, but Grandma brought it in her bag on our trip and they loved it!

Each person in our group has a small bag that we fill with water (or a juice box), granola bars, breakfast bars, raisins, trail mix, pop-tarts, small packs of peanuts, a little bit of candy, mints-anything that is not chocolate (it melts).

We bring a ton of snacks and put them in our room and every day, the kids get to decide what they want and fill their bags...They can munch at their leisure and it really stops all the "I'm hungry...can I have..."

It is a lifesaver when you are standing in line or waiting for a show to begin...
Instead of getting tired while waiting, my kids pull out a snack...

It also saves lots of $$$ :goodvibes

I've seen people pushing rented double strollers, with a kid in one seat and a pretty decent sized cooler in the next, so I'm going to vote no. With Julie, we've always brought her own food in, since she's pretty picky and doesn't eat much anyways.

When I was a kid, we would ALWAYS pack sammiches and snacks to go to Disney. We'd put a lunch bag like cooler in the locker with an ice pack, and go to town on good ol mom sammiches. We ate at WCC about a year ago, and this was our first TS meal at Disney. If we stopped to eat at Disney as a kid, Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Rays was a treat for us.

I always bring 100% fruit leathers, small boxes of raisins, whole wheat crackers to balance out the other fun things they get on Disney trips

In addition to many of the things PPs have already mentioned, we also bring in cups/cans of diced fruit, breadsticks/cheese or pretzels/pb (individual packages from the store), and flavored milk straws from Walgreens (flavoring chips in the straw dissolve as the milk is sipped, giving it banana/strawberry/chocolate flavor) to help squash the soda desires for DS2.

Forgot to mention this one-
Sandwiches can get really squashed, but we did tortillas spread with PB and J and rolled up, and they worked great. They were easy for the kids to hold and carry, didnt get squashed and werent too "crumbly". They are one of our picnic staples...

We bring Uncrustables PB & J sandwiches, chewy granola bars, fruit snacks, rice krispie treats, and frozen bottles of water and gatorade in a little cooler. The drinks melt throughout the day, and keep everything in the cooler, well, cool. When we are not the DDP, it sure beats having to buy a kids meal that my daughter may or may not eat. We have been doing this for years and have never had a problem bringing snacks into the parks. Lord knows, we have spent enough in 15+ years at Disney (between hotels, meals, annual passes, souvenirs) that they aren't going to miss the revenue from a few sandwiches. ;) The best part about snacks is they can be eaten on the go and head off a hunger meltdown.

Joanne :flower3:

We took frozen water, slim jims, fruit chews, cheez its, string cheese and drinkable yogurts. We normally saved this stuff incase kids got hungry in line and to keep the baby happy. Frozen bottled water was something we couldn't live w/ out

Before we leave we let each of our kids pick out their favorite snacks (goldfish, fruit roll-ups, fruit smiles, and pretzels) at Wal-Mart and we pack them in a small individual suitcase that they can carry onto the plane with them. By the end of the week the snacks are gone and they have an empty suitcase to pack their souvies in!

Snacks- yes! I remember ripping fruit snacks in 1/2 and handing them to my 18 mo almost constantly throughout the Beauty&the Beast show. LOL. It's great for long lines! Last time I put cold water bottles in my backpack and they felt so great on my back too!

No coolers! I've seen them stop people. It's my understanding that it can only be a soft one and defnitely not one with wheels
